  8. I play a puzzle and board game by Hoyle with a character on it named Captain Scurvy. Scurvy is a parrot with an eyepatch and a wooden leg. When you are taking too long for your turn, he bellows, "Go already, you filthy bilgerat!" He cracks me up! =0]
  9. I was just watching ST:TNG today and Worf said: "I do not swim. It is too much like...bathing."
  10. I was sitting at work when I heard about it. I was working as a secretary at the time and I remember rushing home to get my hand held TV so I could see what was going on. Then, that evening I remember just the incredible sorrow and silence all over town. Even if you didnt lose someone close to you, it just felt like a chunk of America broke off and burned up.

  15. Actually, I'm a she. :)
  16. Something that helped me when I started was playing a character that I would never play in real life. For example, I hate how invasive medicine is today. In Star Trek, however, you hardly see so much pain and invasiveness. So, Im playing a character how I wish it could be in my lifetime. Since medicine in Star Trek is pretty much an open book, you can make up just about ANYthing about diseases and cures, and be right! Heck, you could probably get a deadly disease and cure it with a pineapple, if you want! Anythings possible, if you just make up a good enough sounding explaination. Its fun too to make up things about other species. Like Vulcans. What do we know about them? THey have green blood? Ponfar? OK, but thats not all their make-up, right? Just think of the possibilities. ::rubs hands together, grinning:: =0]
  17. Heh heh, thanks Lo! Good one! =0] May we present "Toadstool Outpost". Coming to a SIM near you!
  18. Nurse Anita Hurse scanned the injured engineer between herself and the Chief Medical Officer. The patient she and Andrea were working on had suffered burns over ten percent of his body. Unfortunately, the engineer served as a distraction to the conversation unfolding in sickbay. She was trying hard not to look up and find herself in the middle of it. On the other hand, Doctor Tynte wasn't going to let it go. He wanted to get Andrea to talk about what was making her so upset. However, Andrea had made it very clear this was not the time or place for such discussions. She was busily trying to keep this engineering officer alive. Doctor Knollwatcher looked up from the engineer in disgust and glared at Doctor Tynte. It wasn't his visage that brought on her anger. Doctor Tynte was one of the best doctors she had known. No, it was what he had said only moments earlier. Doctor Westler had transferred to Chief of Science. Had she just heard that right? Had Aaron really just left medical? Just like that? No warnings? No good byes? Andrea couldn't believe it. Refocusing on the engineer now, the Chief Medical Officer noticed the wounded had really started to pour in. Just minutes before, she had ordered the beta team to answer distress calls on the ship. Many were sent back on transports, some on foot, some on the arms and shoulders of Beta team medical officers. Most of them looked like they suffered from the same afflictions: first and second degree burns. The whole situation made Andrea angrier with each passing moment. It wasnt just the fact that Aaron had left without notice, but that she couldnt go down there right at the moment and personally knock him out. This fact was even more painful to admit out loud after Avery had tried once more to get it out in the open. Andrea decided the best way to deal with it right now was to not deal with it right now. She didnt want to open her mouth and say something she would regret later. So she remained silent, only speaking softly when it was absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, the overflow of patients served as a much needed distraction. However, she was not thankful for a full sickbay. She would much rather face the dilemma head-on than see her fellow crewmen in pain. Doctor Knollwatcher vowed to get away later, after the wounded had died down (no pun intended), and see if she could gain an audience with the new Chief Science Officer. 24. When I was a little creep, I ate glazed donuts. Especially liked the twisted kind. But, that was when they still made donuts with real sugar and flour and stuff. Now, it just doesnt taste the same. Today, when I do eat them, its either a HoneyBun or a plaincake from hostess or wonder or whoever makes them 12 in a package. ::shrug::
  25. Now, thats a good compromise. Its something trekkie (because thats who we are) so theres going to be other things to do there. Good idea, everyone. Why didnt we think of that for this year? =0]
