  17. The 27th Season begins on the 18 th of August in the year 2388 On the 18th of August in the year 1985, Starbase Aegis was born. Then located in the Canar System, it has since undergone two incarnations: Deep Space Aegis, and the present Sky Harbor Aegis. The station and its crew have endured the Dominion, the Klingon Empire, and the Cardassian Wars, plus countless other threats from within and outside the bounds of Federation space and the Joint Allied Powers. As we begin the season, the date is 18 August 2388.223. Aegis itself is a strategic base that stands watch between known and unknown areas of space. Led by a powerful group whose resources and abilities have yet to be revealed, the Alien Alliance is building bases on asteroids and planetoids within a string of nebulae that allow them stealth passage from their space to that of the Joint Allied Powers. Their aim is to form a cordon around the Joint Allied Powers, take over Aegis, and use it as a staging ground to conquer the Federation and the Joint Allied Powers. The Alien Alliance has yet to take charge of the Joint Allied Powers, though they continue to try. The Joint Allied Powers are always watching... And they will endure.

  19. 18 August 2020 | 17 June 2388 - Stardate 2388.169 As Aegis enters its 26th Season, those inhabiting the station are in more danger than Starfleet Command will disclose. Established in neural space between former Breen space and that of the Joint Allied powers, Aegis has become a target for the Alien Alliance. The Alien Alliance is not only establishing itself throughout a nebula string, they are taking over planetoids and large asteroids in strategic positions to form a cordon around the Joint Allied Powers. Some of their ships and armaments are beyond our ability to counteract. It is said that if they bring us to war it will make every other war look like a party and Aegis will be its center. Task Forces led by modified Akira Class Starships USS Missouri, USS Iowa, USS Toronto, and USS Calgary monitor the areas between Allied and Alien space, keeping a close watch on every move. That said, Aegis has also been dealing with internal attacks. The Vulcan V’Mal came aboard and employed The Stone of Gol, an ancient Vulcan weapon that focuses on an amplified telepathic energy. V’Mal attempted to take hold of Aegis personnel via intense psychic focus. It will never happen again. More recently, the Alien Alliance convinced a naive group we call Gremlins to enter crawl spaces and plant Alien Alliance equipment for future use. As soon as security’s clandestine operators resolved that issue, they had to deal with plants—tasty but deadly—that are being sold on the commerce deck. Add to that Pakleds who enjoy eating the plants and became ill, and we are on the onset of a very interesting year.
  20. Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 13 August 2021 9 August 2388 - Stardate 2388.222 TBS is 6 hours, the time is 0400 (04:00) Aegis Local From Commander Scott Coleridge, Executive Officer, Sky Harbor Aegis To Captain Chirakis, SI-5, Commanding Officer, Sky Harbor Aegis To Starfleet Command via Subspace Portal We have been experiencing an unusual new phenomenon that is interfering with the creation of a stable warp field in the vicinity of Aegis. So far a blue bubble that surrounds the station is not evenly distributed. Some vessels can get through easily, but the phenomenon might encroach on the immediate volume around Aegis. If that grows too large it would effectively cut us off from any outside contact other than subspace communication. Depending on the intensity of the phenomenon, it could disrupt equipment that relies on sustained subspace fields like the FTL processors in the computer systems. Subspace comms should be unaffected because long-range communications happen through a different effect. If the bubble is only a few AU in radius, it is an inconvenience. Ships can still approach and depart on impulse. If the bubble approaches a light-year or more in radius, ships would have no way of reaching Aegis. Their warp field would collapse as they approach, but they would be too far away to reach us on impulse in any practical period of time. Some of this is speculation, since we don't have a full comprehension of what the effect is doing. At this moment, Aegis is not in any immediate danger. We would have plenty of time to evacuate. We will keep you informed. Commander Scott Coleridge Executive Officer, Sky Harbor Aegis

  22. Mission Brief | Sky Harbor Aegis | 6 August 2021 9 August 2388 - Stardate 2388.222 TBS is 11 hours the time is 0900 (09:am) Aegis Local Lt Jim Pine and Lt Hank Slym are recovering from extensive wounds in the medical complex. Captain Chirakis believes that the Krakraldz Cartel has regrouped to take over Aegis and its environs. Their leader is Kraka. Small particle waves are disrupting warp fields for cargo ships coming toward Aegis. The cargo ship Dennison has slowed its ship to impulse power. Science and engineering continue to work through the information they have gathered. Starfleet has modified a route to approach the station.
  23. Kraka They called their boss Kraka, the name taken from a dangerous man-eating bird that would hide within the trees and wait until its prey moved below. The bird would then quietly spread its wings, drop from the tree, pounce, and devour its prey before the creature could take a breath. In essence Kraka would do the same: devour his prey. Their leader was the Kraka, and Kirel wanted to kill him. “Kirel,” said Dr Bill Slater as he quietly stepped up next to her in the trauma unit. At 0400 Aegis local the doctor was making his rounds as usual. And only Slater knew that the two officers in ICU were high-level recon security operatives. Kirel’s killing expression softened. “Coffee?” “Yes. Thank you,” she replied, pushing out of the chair to walk away. “And if I were in my office I would douse it with ale,” she smirked. “We’ll have to do that some time.” “And I’ll be there, you can bet on that! For now, we’ll grab some coffee and use my office to….” An almost whispered, “Captain?” Then a cough came from behind as they rounded the corner, then trotted back. “You there, Cap?” “I’m here, Jim. Settle down. Doctor Slater’s here too. Relax.” “Hell, Cap… uh ma’am. Heck of pain in my head, and gees ma’am….” “Pine. Relax… and that’s an order. Got it?” “Yes, ma’am,” he groaned, resting back on the bed as soon as the medical staff arrived. Kirel stepped out of ICU and began to pace up and down the corridor. She would kill that man. She would kill his cohorts. She would kill Kraka.

CdrBrown: ::nods:: thank you. ::sees Cayne wanting to divert his attention back towards his regular duties:: Tae'Lynn Dran: There have been some interesting samples recovered from the asteroid field and I might be able to confirm some correlations . Nijil tr'Korjata: Prani and I were both engineers, fittingly, but Muuhi was the doctor. I think I can help you in that department as well. Nijil tr'Korjata: Is the correlation natural or artificial? Chirakis: :::listening to the conversation::: CdrBrown: ::looks at Coleridge:: Figure we should have data from the Deke Slayton this evening, give each of the departments the night to evaluate the data and see how it will impact their operations.... Stakeholder meeting at 0600 tomorrow? Tae'Lynn Dran: I hope none of this is too personal. We are, in quite a literal sense, floating in their graveyard right now. Alexis McFarland: I wonder what we should do now. Wanna go another raid in the holosuite? Dacia Sandero: ::settles back into her office to write up a few reports:: Annisha: Oh we need to finish that? How many pelts do we need to return to that guy? Nijil tr'Korjata: No, well... I had many experiences while I was there. I was living another life while repairing their machine. Alexis McFarland: I think we needed six more, then he'd give us the key to the old abandoned barn. I've simulated the asteroid’s movements back to a general spherical formation. More details of its original composition can help explain some inconsistencies. Nijil tr'Korjata: I keep on thinking I can help the Yith, but I don't think the Federation likes messing with time. CdrBrown: I am also going to get in touch with the last dozen ships that transited the route, both inbound and outbound, to get their engine room data. It may help us determine where or when the wave originated. Alexis McFarland: I think I still have a few in my chest. Tarisa: Miana> Ohhh. I think we need a couple more ore nodes for the Old Mister Miner as well. Nijil tr'Korjata: Do you need biological data about the Yith? Cultural musings? Tae'Lynn Dran: Biological and geological. Alexis McFarland: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Tae'Lynn Dran: Cultural musings would only be helpful if they refer to the former two subjects.
