  1. Capt Rosen -> Last time the full crew minus Sargh jumped aboard the Qob.. Orders are to take her out on a shakedown cruise as everything was tweaked.. Capt Rosen -> And we have this little problem with a not so fresh body in the landing bay. Capt Rosen -> Begin Sim. Capt Rosen -> Begin Sim. Capt Rosen -> Begin Sim. Sargh -> ::in the dark of the shuttle-half, is feeling around inside one of his armor's cargo-boxes for something:: Capt Rosen -> ::exits quarters after taking a quick sonic shower and changing uniforms:: Capt Rosen -> ::enters the bridge:: Luc Daren -> :: letting his crew go about the process of the investigation :: Sargh -> ::finds what he is looking for and takes it out, seemingly looking at it, though it's impossible to see anything in the complete blackness of the shuttle:: Luc Daren -> :: looks over to Rosen :: Captain. Capt Rosen -> Mr Daren. ::takes his seat:: How goes the investigation? Luc Daren -> We've finally managed to identify the boy, the mother's apparently MIA. Looks like there are animal claw and teeth marks on the head wounds. Capt Rosen -> Helm.. take us out nice and slow. once clear you may begin the journey to the testing grounds. Capt Rosen -> ::back full attention to daren:: Capt Rosen -> What type of animal? Luc Daren -> Something small, traces of light-colored fur around the wounds. We sent samples to science for DNA testing. Capt Rosen -> ::nods:: Luc Daren -> Speaking of science, I see Sargh has still not reported for duty. Seems unlike him to desert. Sargh -> ::was reassigned, remember?:: Capt Rosen -> ::looks at him:: Sargh? Luc Daren -> (( no, was that in the week I was gone? )) Capt Rosen -> ::thinking:: I don't remember a Sargh listed on the roster. Capt Rosen -> <no when we separated.. he was never reassigned to us>> Luc Daren -> (( okay, so why bother to rescue him, lol )) Capt Rosen -> <<hmmm.. lol>> Luc Daren -> :: checks console :: Ah, my apologies. I mis-read Snargh as Sargh. Sargh -> <<If this goes the way I'm planning, you won't have much of a choice :P>> Luc Daren -> Pity, he was very talented, it would've nice to have him back. Capt Rosen -> ::nods:: hmm.. looks like I have a little more to read up on. Luc Daren -> :: with the ship under way, checks through all of the tactical stuff; nearly overwhelmed to have it all work :: Capt Rosen -> How did the child end up here on the Qob's deck? Luc Daren -> I was unable to rid myself of him by legal means. Capt Rosen -> ::blinks:: I'm sorry? Luc Daren -> :: looks over to Rosen :: Found him as a stowaway on starbase 332, the Federation counselor seemed to think, in absence of any documentation, that it was in the child's best interest to stay with me since he seemed so... attached. It was in the reports. Sargh -> ::still staring at the darkness corresponding to the object in his hands:: Well then...I suppose things turned out this way after all. Capt Rosen -> Helm> Captain. we have cleared the system.. permission to go to warp to the training grounds Capt Rosen -> Granted helm.. Warp 3 if you please, gradually. Capt Rosen -> I'm affraid that I haven't had time to read the report. Luc Daren -> :: watches the weapon's standby power to see if it fluctuates at all during the warp jump, like the old Qob's so often did :: Capt Rosen -> <only been a couple hours at most> Luc Daren -> Ah. Well, I never considered that the Klingon authorities would have his identity, otherwise I would have contacted them directly instead of letting it go through the usual channels. Would've got rid of him sooner... :: pauses, considers phrase... Luc Daren -> "got rid of" :: Luc Daren -> Turned him over to CPS, that is. Luc Daren -> He must've taken a shine to me on the shuttle ride that day... :: thinks back to the shuttle ride, remembers the hamster :: Oh dear. Luc Daren -> :: considers the hole in the kid's head, the hamster, the peanut-loving of one then the other :: Oh dear, dear, dear. Capt Rosen -> ::spots the look change on his face:: Capt Rosen -> What is it? Luc Daren -> There was a hamster on that shuttle... Capt Rosen -> A hamster? ::looks doubtful:: Luc Daren -> After it stole my nuts it disappeared. Sargh -> <<That sounds painful>> Luc Daren -> Then, when I spotted the kid again at the starbase, it had a penchant for peanuts as well. Luc Daren -> Had to buy a case, as a matter of fact. Capt Rosen -> Just what type of Hamster is this? Luc Daren -> :: remembers something about a hamster on the Qob before, tries to pull up the old data :: Luc Daren -> It seemed far more intelligent than I would expect a rodent to be. :: flips through electronic files :: Luc Daren -> Had very sharp teeth, too. Turned by duffel into swiss cheese. Luc Daren -> my* Capt Rosen -> Apparently.. Capt Rosen -> You caught this creature? Luc Daren -> :: finds a file marked "Marvel" and reads through, looks over sheepishly at Rosen at "caught" :: Erm... :: clears throat :: As I said, it was quite intelligent. Sargh -> ::still looking at the object:: I guess...I suppose I can accept things turning out this way, in the end. Luc Daren -> :: looks at the image of Marvel in the file :: Yes, this is the one, I'd even bet on it. Luc Daren -> :: looks over, gets the high points of the poor, tortured creature :: Yes, that would explain it, wouldn't it. Capt Rosen -> ::steps out of his chair over to the tac station:: Capt Rosen -> Let me see. Luc Daren -> :: nods, steps to the right so the Captain can look over the file :: Capt Rosen -> ::skims the file quickly:: Capt Rosen -> This creature is aboard this ship? Sargh -> Marvel> ::in a nearby air duct, reading over Rosen's shoulder:: Luc Daren -> Sympathetic Space Debris> :: takes pity on the poor halved shuttle, shimmies out of the way before whatever sensors the shuttle had left note them :: Luc Daren -> Probably, Captain. It must've used the boy as a vessel to return to its home. Must've abandoned ship to avoid the baryon sweep. Capt Rosen -> ::re reads the file again:: Luc Daren -> SSD> :: really caught in the gravitational pull of a faraway comet, but it's the thought that counts :: Sargh -> Marvel> ::sees something in the file that isn't sympathetically worded, and squeaks in indignity:: Luc Daren -> :: hears something familiar... checks console to make sure it isn't the sound for a decloaking Romulan Warbird first :: Capt Rosen -> Is this creature that dangerous? Capt Rosen -> ::notes the ship drop out of warp:: Sargh -> @::holding the object close to his chest, eyes closed:: Ah well. Space is like you said, after all... Capt Rosen -> Helm> We have arrived at the testing area captain.. Luc Daren -> :: brow furrow :: Ah. I would say by the broken child left in the bay, yes. Though I think that was merely a convenience, hijacking the boy. Probably not dangerous unless threatened here on the ship. Sargh -> @::notes a sudden glow from the object:: Oh. Sargh -> @So that's where I hid that transmitter... Capt Rosen -> Did it ever kill when it was aboard the vessel before? Sargh -> @This could be bad...very, very bad... Luc Daren -> :: flips through the file :: Not that it was noted in here, and I never heard any hamster related death rumors or I would've likely recognized the thing on board the shuttle. Sargh -> ::DTD Core Stack:: Still hidden in the science lab's wall...starts glowing the same color as the object. Luc Daren -> :: considers :: He is sort of cute for a psycho hamster... not that I've ever met any other pycho hamsters... Well, any sane ones either. :: shrugs :: Anyway, so long as we keep some peanuts on board he shouldn't need to kill for food. Capt Rosen -> Allright.. Keep an eye out for the creature.. No need to hunt it yet. If it makes one more situation like this.. ::gives him a stare:: Sargh -> @If it goes critical without any sort of antitachyon inhibitor...well... Luc Daren -> :: nods :: Of course, Captain. I'll be sure to have any unattended deaths checked for nibble marks. Capt Rosen -> ::walks back to his chair thinking perhaps it will feel more like a klingon and kill it's way up to the top... plans on setting some traps in his quarters:: Sargh -> @::runs to the shuttle's transporter platform, ripping off the pad cover:: If I can match the quantum-paired strings to a set in subspace, and fire a matter stream through, I could move the window...that might work... Luc Daren -> Luc's Case O'Peanuts> :: in his quarters on the floor of his closet :: Sargh -> @::frantically pulling at the transporter's wiring, trying to rig something up:: Capt Rosen -> ::takes a seat:: alright.. Engine status? Capt Rosen -> Engineer> Green sir.. everything normal. Capt Rosen -> Tactical.. You may begin scaning for targets Mr Daren. Sargh -> Lagh Snargh> ::Delivering supplies to the science lab, and sees something glowing inside the wall, an instant before the DTD Core Stack sends out an arc of electricity that knocks him off his feet:: Luc Daren -> Aye, Captain. :: starts a scan for targets :: Capt Rosen -> Science, begin your sensor sweep with the new sensors.. coordinate with Tactical on his targets before we engage.. Luc Daren -> :: sees the console light up with a number of blips, quickly flips through the quick display results to search for something useful :: Sargh -> @::glancing nervously at the glowing object:: Aagh...the static in these lines is going to make the window grow faster than I'd thought, but at least we'll have a chance... Luc Daren -> :: sends his choices to science with a quick hotkey press for analysis :: Capt Rosen -> SCI> ::nods upon recieving data begins his own analysis:: Luc Daren -> Selected targets under analysis, Captain. A nice selection to test each of our systems. Capt Rosen -> SCI> Everything looks good sir.. no lifesigns detected.. Capt Rosen -> SCI> One possible contact at the edge of sensor range.. some debris with some unorthodox readings. Sargh -> @::quickly makes one last connection:: Well, that should do it... Luc Daren -> :: a glance over at science, looks for said blip and pulls it up :: Well that is an odd one, isn't it? :: looks over the detail data :: Sargh -> DTD Core Stack> ::sends out a wave of red energy, obliterating the science lab and everyone in it:: Capt Rosen -> Very well.. You may test your weapons Mr Daren. leave that debris for further analysis. Luc Daren -> :: attention quickly diverts to the warning bleeps :: Sargh -> ::steps out of thin air onto the bridge and immediately turns to Rosen:: You're in command here? Luc Daren -> :: then to Sargh :: Luc Daren -> :: from bleeps to Sargh and back repeatedly :: Capt Rosen -> ::stands looking at the intruder:: Red Alert. Sargh -> ::doesn't wait for a response:: We need to change course now, or the time-space continuum will be utterly destroyed. Luc Daren -> Red Alert, aye... Hello Sargh, did you just by chance blow up the science lab? Capt Rosen -> Sargh? ::looks at luc.. then sargh.. :: Sargh -> ::has switched positions with the newly formed space-time rift, which immediately expands to seven AU in size, completely annihilating the shuttle half:: Sargh -> ::looks at Rosen:: Yes, but there isn't time for introductions. We need to go, now! Luc Daren -> Ah... I'd suggest you listen to him and then yell at him later, Captain. He's usually right about these things. Capt Rosen -> Pause sim. Capt Rosen -> Pause sim. Capt Rosen -> Pause sim.

  3. Dr. Egon Spengler: Vinz, you said before you were waiting for a sign. What sign are you waiting for? Louis: Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!
