  1. ....hmmm....Klingons....I wonder if they like Root Beer??
  2. I had to vote twice too. While TOS got it all started, it was the passion and love stories in DS9 and Enterprise I keep watching.
  3. It's got to be based on the Corps of Engineers. Then they could help everyone, including the "31" the Ambassadors, a few alternate universes, etcetera. Got to be set when they've got Holodecks too. But then, the NX-01 met a race with this technology, so the time frame could be changed as the mood of the writers goes. No real need to be stuck in any one time frame, or any one set of permanent characters.
  4. We've had this talk before! When I say "I'd walk a mile for a Camel" It's for a Cigarette! Not for your Lunch!!!
  5. ::enters quarters:: 'Computer, Open encoded personal log and begin recording.' ::sits down at desk, presses a section of wall pannel which opens down and out. A motorized hum is heard, and out comes a drink tap with a large mug below the spout:: 'Today I received a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade! It's so much different in Star Fleet than when I was in the Earth Cargo Service. There, rank was nothing more than what positions you held.' ::grabs mug with one hand, and moves it under a chute next to the spout:: 'Sometimes, I just don't know why I left the Fortunate III.' ::pushes mug against sensor switch, and ice begins to drop into mug with a pleasant clink, clink, rattle:: 'I had everything worked out, life was pretty easy...oh..yeah...and as boring as standing watch in the engine room while transiting from Jupiter station to wherever MOM & "I'M Still the Captain" DAD had to go....' ::moves mug under tap, pulls on tap lever, and root beer begins to fill the mug:: 'At least it gave me the time I needed to complete my Star Fleet Reserve Officer's Training Corps classes. I loved being at the Cargo Ship University, and attending classes live or on-line was a great way to make new friends.' ::foam begins to spill over the lip of the mug, lets go of the tap lever and puts hand under mug to catch the dripping foam:: 'COMPUTER - PAUSE RECORDING' Ahh man, why do I always do this?? ::slurps the drops of Root Beer out of his hand:: 'Ahh THATS Good...' ::takes a long drink from mug, and refills it....not so full this time:: 'Okay computer. Resume recording. Well, now that I've been on board for a couple of months, I think it's about time I have a party. I've got my promotion to celebrate, some budding friendships with some of the Hanger Deck crew and the Engineering crew....and they like my Root Beer! I just hope that OPS guy, Smith, keeps liking it. I never did get permission to use those torpedo transportion casing to make my kegs....but I did get the promotion, and the Captain did mention it.....' 'I'll have to invite Mr. Smith first. It's always good to have a bridge officer at the party as a guest! Computer, end recording.'
