  1. That is just weird. O.O
  2. Before the topic is dropped, that's why I sneak my own snacks in my purse. Kind of breaks that whole saying, 'call a dog, and it'll come running. call a cat and it'll take a message and get back to you.' I never thought a cat would do that. Normally, if I ask my cat to fetch (I am joking of course, because I value my life), she gives me this look of pure distaste and prances off. EDIT: I just watched the BSG miniseries earlier this week, and noticed that Serenity (from Firefly) was shown in the corner of the screen when Roslin was waiting for her cancer test results on Caprica, and the Enterprise-D in the fleet when a bunch of ships were going into FTL travel. Hahaha
  3. Snipers.... Some people on earth, as the others said, do collect older weaponry, projectile weapons, ect. But because Earth is pretty much known as the center of the federation, it does have some of the best tech. I believe the minimum age established in the canon for entering starfleet academy was 15, but most enter around 17 or 18. Some enter much later, or much earlier, or simply enlist. It really depends on the type of character you want to have. Some people, like captain Kirk, ambassador Spock, Admiral Janeway (in the post DS9/VOY storylines), might be mentioned, but we really don't bring it up much. It's like Kansas said, the focus is more on the characters in sim. A captains log, is more of an official log. A duty log, is basically equal. Personal logs, however, are private, and would most likely begin with the character who is doing it's name, and the stardate (i.e. "Personal log, Lieutenant, Junior Grade Aliana Lucindak, Stardate 5648.77). And that brings me to stardates. Most people use a format beginning with 5 that involves then the month, year, and day, in different orders. I use the format; 5MMDD.YY, which the the two numbers for the month, then day, and then last two of the year (not in sim, but circa rl). I hope this helped yah.
  4. Heya all. I know I should have known all the sims STSF did when it started, but I don't, so I was wondering if anyone who did know, would be oh so kind to tell me. I am telling a friend about it and she is all about details. :P
  5. Ah, thanks very much A9
  6. V'Roy> They don't really have backup nacelles. If they had two, 3, 4, any number, they would have to use them all at the same time, or the ship could become unbalanced.
  7. Don't worry, you're not ^^ I didn't know any people here would actually know what Love Hina is though... lol
  8. Not everyone on earth is for the federation, though most are. If you are trying to find a way to have your character originate from that, there are several ways. He could have been raised in a family against the federation and contact with alien races for one thing. If you were simply looking for background information, then the others pretty much have it covered.
  9. Indeed, long live Sovak's jeep.
  10. lol. I actually asked myself something similar too.
  11. Haven't gotten that far! ::curses Amazon::
  12. Well, the things is, Cochrane might have originally been in it only for money, and not considered the idea of first contact of any kind. However, confronted with it, he might have chosen to go with meeting them, instead of stealing their ship.
  13. Tigh was a drunk and pissed me off, but in the long run, he was better then some.
  14. And with Spock/Uhuru becoming an item: sure, why not! Kirk didn't get the girl for a change. About time. :-P I always liked Spock better. Might have been because he quirked one of his eyebrows in most episodes and almost every movie. Though the hair cut o.o. All vulcans have it, but its still 2nd place in my list of bad hair cuts. Lost it only to a buzz cut.
  15. Well technically, if they did execute his parents, maybe it would drastically change the -original- timeline. Isn't that standard Federation logic.
  16. Fancy sports car breaks down=Several cars full of happy, average income campers
  17. I don't know, the Beastie Boys seems to fit it well... I mean if you are like me and your brain can connect similarities to anything from anything...
  18. That's just weird O.O
  19. Heh heh, thanks to Samantha. She edited a picture of Katee Sackhoff for me, to have for Aliana. ^^

  23. :) Ok... I agree with sad on some parts, but I am more of an... eclectic Trekker, so I'll bow out of this discussion. ~Ali
