  2. ok...I wish I was in the blackout...but I wasn't (Im in Nebraska, USA). But I had plans of what I would have done if I was in it, ask my friends so I'll tell you... It happened right before nightfall...and there would be hardly any light pollution for literally miles!!! I would have been outside wathcing the nightsky...(I don't have a telescope--yet). It would be AMAZING!!! Anyway that's what I would ahve done :D

(and yes I will be partying tonight...I just found out that my friends have been planning this for far too long  ) Have fun in the sims, and Academeies tonight! ...And to Nem (even though its a day late)... HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY NEMESIS!!!!!
  7. Moore was too much of the Saint...Besides those two are at the bottom anyway :)
  8. No, that's the speed of television. :-)  ROFLOL--that is so true!!!
  9. I think a series based at the academy would be too much like a teen bobper/ Buffy/ Felicty type show
  10. Oh NOOO.... for all those who are unaware of the best Bond to worse Bond order, it goes somethink like this: :) [*]Sean Connery [*]Pierce Brosnan [*]Timothy Dalton [*]Roger Moore I am not too sure about the other couple of guys that played Bond Ok, now that I got that taken care of, back to the topic at hand. HAHA Moose, the odds are now evened... I have a captain that gets occasionaly stoned on an away mission. Thats funny
  11. :) Does anyone else realize that there are 365 days in a year--366 in a leap year? What are they teaching you ppl inschool now :D (this is not meant to be mean , I just think it is a funny observation :) )
  12. toast, chicken--Im getting hungry! Anyway, I had once read a book about the physics of Star Trek. The author was trying to compare reality to fiction, but what I thought was especially funny was that some of the theories that the physist (you all know I can't spell) stated as impossible have occured since then. I like watching star trek for the monkey-see, monkey-do factor :) . For example, ST: TOS had itsy bitsy storage disks of information and communicators...we know have floppy diskettes, CD, and cell phones that flip too :)
  13. Thank you everyone for all the help you have given me...and for the many laughs    I wanted to let everyone know that after careful and thoughtful deliberation, I have joined the USS Arcadia. Thank you again, and I still plan on attending the academies...you know, getting in my holodeck time
  14. ...And now here she was on her first starship, her first mission, ready to make her first log: “Computer—start log: Ensign’s personal log; StarDate 10308.11 It has been busy on the Arcadia. I have arrived at a time in which a deadly virus is attacking the Lodi mining colony and a great many of our troops who are already planet side. I haven’t had the chance to meet all the medical staff and pray fully, I will...a majority of the staff is down there attempting to find a cure for the mutated pathogen. In some ways this is scary, but in others, it’s all part of the job. I have gotten to know one of the doctors though. His name is Dr. BJ Honeycutt. We seem to see eye to eye on trauma, and he seems to have taken a liking to calling me Hawkeye. I haven’t been here very long and I have already met the Captain. It was a rather comical first impression: he had just returned from the planet where some environmental agent was causing him to be stoned. Hopefully I will get to know him better, but it’s good to know the captain can cut loose—how often I have yet to see ::): . I think I am going to like it here. End Log.” ... Yep, I think I am going to like it here...
  15. Anika was frustrated. She had been on the USS Arcadia for a few days now and she was still no quicker at finding her quarters; tonight it had taken her a little more than 45 min to search for them. Maybe it was because she hadn’t had the chance to focus on where her quarters might actually be, or maybe it was just because the ship was that big (it was after all, Sovereign Class). Anika did know she would have to get quicker at getting around the ship. No if, ands, or buts...it put her at a disadvantage to not know the ship. Not to mention, it was time consuming, and just plain annoying: it made her feel as if she had no control. And if there was one thing Anika liked most, it was being in control of the situations she was in. It was that amount of control that enhanced her career and brought her to where she was now. She hadn’t always wanted to go into to trauma though—she had originally pursued a career in research, but as she continued she quickly learned complete control of the variables was not enough for her. Anika needed change; she thrived on it! It wasn’t long before her friends and teachers began to direct her to the field of medicine, and once she learned more about it, she couldn’t get enough. Soon afterwards, she was quickly mesmerized (much to the dismay of others) by the world of trauma. So she kept with it, never getting bored of trauma (which was unusual for Anika), but only more excited by the possibilities. ...And now here she was on her first starship, her first mission, ready to make her first log...
  16. I was just watching an episode of Star Trek: TNG with the Crystaline Entity, and I was wondering how superb an androids functions should be? Mr. Data can read super fast, has super human strength, and immortality. Yet he never heard the Crystaline Entity until Riker heard it. Pretty funny, huh? :) Anyway, I thought it was funny and I know I am being too picky for a show....but I just had to point it out. :D Especially because we have machines that can pick up sounds before the human ear!
  17. you know what that ::points up:: was supposed to be a confused smilie face. It looks pretty sad to me. ::thinks: maybe the confused smilie had a bad day?!:
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong (and I may be), but I thought that Lt. Paris reached warp 10. I didn't think he exceeded warp 10 ???
  19. Wow there are a lot of ideas on this...and many are good, but don't forget that the GM will ultimately have more work as more STSF expands. However although the mebers are groing and have exceeded 300, I don't think I counted that many ppl actual in advanced sims as I was ship shopping. (Thank you to all those who made me laugh and gave me advice and "calling cards" ) On one point, I do agree the acedemy should have a specialty sim once in a while. Before I graduated, I was afraid to consider a specialty sim bc I had no experience. And if you truly think about it, any type of ship or crew will have the same basic command structe, and the basic ship problems. Another point of fact I see is tat the academies are something special in commanders and GM can create new sitautions and characters that aren't always typical of starfleet (flying bird/fish...and especially the lovable huggable  Pandarians). In my eyes if a cadet has at least one or 2 exposures to a specialty sim in a holodeck (maybe one specity academy per month in palce of a tradition) They would be less intimidated by the phrase "specialty sim". And I must admit, I would like to get an idea, but currently it seem to me that the only way I can do that is by joining one. Sorry this is lenghty, but these are my thoughts.... And to the GM: You guys have done a wonderful job already, and even though I have graduated the holodecks are a lot of fun. I still like to visit them! :D
  20. those ships must never have seen a lot of action. It didn't relatively too long for the enterprise to become enterprise-E. Maybe those on the old ships felt like the characters in the movie down periscope....
  21. hmm lot to follow ppl so have fun...I was there and I am lucky I am still alive
  22. you guys are so silly!!! I said I liked the NX class. True, the constituition is a great ship, and the NX dos look newer, but the NX is what made most of the consition class possible  At least I think so I love exploringing and exceeding limitation and that's whta the NX ship does. :D
  23. A sponge can be dry and it shrinks which means it would still have volume..that would also mean that by removing spomges you are removing volume thereby lowering water level. Right??? (So there answer that  )
  24. Hey, hey... I have one or two Garnoopy: Why do we PARK in DRIVEways, but DRIVE in PARKways??? If we removed all the sponges from the oceans, would there be more water???
  25. ::Anika packs her bags. She as inlcuded towels, romluan guides, klingon guides and 3 maps. In her back pocket is the "Hitchhiker' Guide":: Well It looks like I'm off... ::Hopes she hasn't forgotten anything, but then thinks she'll do just fine And out the door she walks into the infinite universe with endless possiblities...::
