  1. Going home for a whole month ::sniff sniff:: since the residence halls close and I have nowhere else to go. But I get 4 weeks of break :)
  2. I also have to agree with academy sims being worth while, but not because they teach some one to simm. True, they do teach skills in simming, but it seems that once you graduate from the simms, you have to learn all over again in the advanced simms. For example, academies don't teach cadets how to write logs...thats something that comes with practice and the first few times its hard to do. Also in the academies, you learn how to label your station and what other ppl are. In an advanced simm, that is not the case...there is no labeling and you have to learn what other stations the other 15-20 something characters belong to. ...Now you may be wondering why I said they are worth while. This is because it gives advanced players and new cadets a chance to join together. Advanced players who have always wantd to blow up ships or break the rules of advanced simms can do so. It gives cadets a chances to see the fun side of simming and it allows members to meet. And cadets also get a chance to see what ships they would like to be on when time come for them to choose because of players they may have met. Well....these are my thoughts :D
  3. I knew from the moment I signed up...maybe thats why I fit in so well :)
  4. Can you imagine what all those curious ppl would think... "Hey, I've always wanted to simm...I've heard a lot of good things about this group..." ::follows link found on St.com:: ::Eyes go wide with horror:: "This says stsf, but I don't see star trek stuff...Men wearing skirts and bras?! Hey what's ST.com trying to pull on me....They're crazy...all crazy I tell you!!" (but we already know that, dont we :))
  5. ::pats huff on the back:: It's ok Huff. How do you know it was you that was forgotten and not one of the other 2...It was nem who singled you out... There there now, It will be okay. Fred's a good guy, but I think his alter ego (chubbs ate my arm once...hungry little Panda). He's a good guy..
  6. But if you have a gifT, you can send it too me
  7. :D You guys scared him away!! Any way don't give up yet...you have to remeber that the academies are for beginners who are learning, so it may be slow. Also depending on nights and some academies may be slower than others. Maybe you should check out the various advanced simms to see what you would be working towards. Keep in mind that not all advanced simms are alike  And if you don't check, thnks for checking us out :o
  8. hehe... Anyway...I have a question for future reference. I have a ton of Star trek pics, so what's the best way to resize them so that they fit just right?
  9. lol
  10. Hope everything works out
  11. I don't know her well, but I think she likes donuts;)
  12. what story was that? Im curious:)
  13. I must agree with that. All the GM's are great and I have learned a lot from them. I think what actually makes the sim different are the people who attend them. The variety of cadets as well as advanced players. When there is an academy sim dominated by arcadia, I feel just like I am on the arcadia.
  14. I haven't tried al the academies, but so far both of the academies on Tuesday nights are my favorite. Why? I think it's because when I was trainging in the academies I clicked the best with those groups. I don't recall myself attending many on Sunday nights though, cuz I am sure I would have clicked there too. After all they are my current Capt and Cdr. ::waves to Cpt Moose and Cdr Dacotah:: "Hi guys" And for all you cadets out there. The Arcadia is a ton of fun! :D
  15. ::the scene starts with music playing in the background:: At first she didn’t realize where she was or what was going on around her, all she could focus on was a sound in the distance that seemed to get louder and wouldn’t go away. It wasn’t a bad sound, just unrecognizable. Wait...she did recognize: it was her alarm! “Computer, the time. What time is it?” “It is 1053,“ was the machine’s stoic reply. Shoot. How could she have overslept?! Her alarm had been playing for the last 53 minutes. Groggily, and with eyes half opened, she began to lift herself out of bed. Her muscles still ached, but she did feel a little better. Anika was surprised to find that still in her dress! The events of the day before came flooding back to her. Arcadia had performed an emergency beam out. Captain Moose had come to sickbay to check on the progress himself. While there, he informed her that an S.O.S. signal from Merri’s commbadge was received, and that was the beam out. Anika never had the opportunity to leave sickbay; it was too busy. By the time sickbay settled down, Dr. Telano informed her it had been to long to heal her neck wound without a scar forming. After that, she left sickbay and tried to visit Seiben, but he was not home. Seiben! Her mind raced...was he okay? He hadn’t answered his door last night. She had been too tired to pursue why, and instead, told herself that she would check on him first thing this morning. She looked down at what she was wearing...she couldn’t go dressed like this. Realizing her alarm was still on she told the computer to turn it off. (It was her day off, but she always had the computer set her alarm automatically whenever the computer was able to detect Anika in the room—she hated the idea of sleeping a day away) Anika’s shower took longer then she expected, but was worth every minute. She felt clean again and the heat helped loosen some of the tension in her muscles. She was surprised with the size of some of the bruises she had seen. As soon as Anika was dressed, she walked out the door. Anika’s mind was racing a mile a minute: she wanted to talk to Seiben before anymore time passed, and apologize for kicking him as well as make sure he was alright. Engineering would be the best place to start. Once she got there, Anika couldn’t find Seiben anywhere, so she asked an NPC Engineer if he had seen the Lieutenant. Anika was troubled when the young ensign informed her no and that he called in the night before saying he would not be here. Her heart sank. This was not what she wanted to hear. On her way to engineering, Anika heard many people talking about a couple of crewmen were drunk the night before. What if one of those men was Seiben...and now the ensign was telling her he would not be here? Anika knew that it wasn’t right for her to ask why not, but she hoped that the young ensign would accidentally blurt out why if she asked. The engineer just shrugged and informed her that it had something to do with his actions on Arcady Prime. He continued to tell her that Seiben was an emotional and mental wreck. He was really drunk when he called Cdr. Jaruq the night before stating that he wouldn’t be coming in today. All Anika could do was look at the engineer, her eyes wide in utter shock. “Are you serious?” “Yep, that’s what I heard Cdr. Jaruq say,” replied the young engineer. Anika thanked the ensign and left. She hoped she was making a mountain out of a mole hill. Where else could he be? With that thought running through her mind, she hit her forehead. How could she have been so silly? “Computer. Locate Lieutenant Seiben.” “Lieutenant Seiben is located in his quarters.” Anika walked at q quickened pace to Seiben’s quarters. When she got there, there was again no answer at his door. Anika thought about the night before. The computer said he was in his quarters last night too, so why isn’t he there? Once again she asked the computer where he was, and once again Anika got the same response: in his quarters. There was nothing she could so at the moment. She wasn’t sure if she should report it yet, because she still wasn’t sure if she was overreacting. She would go back to her quarters, and if she didn’t see Seiban in the next couple of hours, she would ask the counselor what to do. Anika walked over to the nearest turbolift. Anika was surprised when she saw Seiben standing in the turbolift when the doors opened...
  16. STARFLEET PERSONEL FILE: Pierce, Anika Rank: Lieutenant Junior Grade, MD Current Assignment: U.S.S. 21. Anika wasn’t scheduled to work, but when the Arcadia started transporting people directly to sickbay she could see her work was cut out. It wasn’t long after she started working that she called Counselor Knlwtchr to sickbay as well. It had been apparent that many of those who weren’t physically injured were at least mentally injured—Anika could think of no better plan than to call the counselor in to aid those who needed comforting. Anika saw Merri and BJ laying on the biobeds to her left and walked over to check on them. Merri wouldn’t be in sickbay much longer—she had suffered a severe concussion and would remain in sickbay for observation. BJ wasn’t as lucky. Trichon and Seiben had nearly beaten the doctor to his death. She hadn’t understood why, but the fact that they were ultimately trying to capture Anika and Merri for their gain probably saved BJ. He was no longer in critical condition and lucky to be alive; given time he would heal without any physical scarring. She looked around sickbay and was satisfied with what she saw: all critical emergencies had been tended to, and nurses were scuttling around checking on “their” patients. For now, her work was done. She could only imagine that Dr. Telano felt the same. A wave of exhaustion swept Anika at that moment and she seemed to melt into the nearest chair she could find. No sooner had she sat down did she hear the sickbay doors open, and for a moment a wave of panic washed over her. “Not again,” she thought! She was relieved when she realized it was the graveyard shift and Dr. Netani coming in to take over. And then it hit her: What time was it? How long had she been here for? “Computer, what time is it?” “It is 2130.” She had been in sickbay for a little over seven hours! Now that all the commotion had died down she realized how much she ached all over. She heard someone walking towards her from her left and was too exhausted to see who it was. “Anika, you have been here far too long.” Anika recognized the voice as Dr. Telano’s and looked up. She must have looked up too quickly because the front of her neck stung. Out of instinct she brought a hand to her throat and felt the dried blood. Dr. Telano caught her reaction, “You haven’t had anyone take a look at yet, have you?” Before Anika even had the chance to respond Dr. Telano said, “Come here, let see what’s going on.” Every muscle in Anika’s body ached as she pulled herself out of her chair. There wasn’t an open biobed so she followed Dr. Telano to the supply counter. He grabbed a medical tricorder and didn’t even bother to grab the dermal regenerator. They both knew it was pointless, none the less Dr. Telano looked at her scab and informed her that her neck was already starting to heal and it would be pointless to use it. Outside of her neck a quick examination had revealed only scrapes and bruises. He gave her some medicine to relieve the soreness throughout her body and then told her to get some rest...doctor’s orders. Anika was too tired to argue and immediately left sickbay after saying thank you to Dr. Telano. As she walked to her quarters, oblivious to her environment, she brought a hand up to her neck again. The skin was raised; the scar would probably be about three inches long from the feel of it. She could have prevented a scar, but she had waited too long. She thought about Seiben and wondered what he was doing at the moment. She decided to go to his quarters to let him know that everything was okay. Her mind was in such a haze by the time she got to Seiben’s quarter that she was relieved yet worried when there was no answer when she rang the door chime. She hoped he was okay, but for now, in her present state of mind, there was nothing she could do. She would come back later, after she got some rest, if he didn’t find her first. Anika turned around and started walking to her quarters. By the time she reached her room she could barely keep her eyes open. She walked into her bedroom to the edge of her bed. The sleep and exhaustion she had been fighting finally took over. She looked at her bed and thought how inviting it looked. And with that, she fell face first onto her bed, her feet dangling off and slept—she hadn’t even taken off her dress. There was no doubt that she would not wake up until her body allowed her to wake up.
  22. You got some really cool stuff here. And alas I also knew about the lunar eclipse, but it was too cloudy here ::sniff, sniff:: oh well, maybe next october. :) I like the science info, so I don't mind if you keep posting it :)

  24. So far so good, take your time Webby, your doing great. Yes the boards will definately take some getting used to. How come I see no stars? On mine or anyone's board. Hmmmm...
  25. Hey there. The boards look great. As I am getting adjusted to where items have been relocated, forgive me if I am asking a queation that has already been posted. I know I have read other people are hvaing a little trouble with the new boards. Ok, so here's my question. I tried to update my profile and I received an error message. And when I tried to upload the same avitar I had before. Since I did my profile first, I don't think the problem is with the avitar. Any ideas or is this one of those areas still in flux? Thank you for your help :D. And once again, the boards look great:)
