  7. Tethra stared out the window of the ship's lounge towards the crystal glints of the grand blue Oceans of Earth, and felt a great urge to plunge its depths and explore the grand ventures of its tides. It had been so long since he had the chance to even venture near an ocean let alone dive into one so it was an opportunity he could not pass up. Syd stood next to him, looking out the window as well. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Tethra turned his head to see the lady from Science who had joined them in many missions. "It fails in comparison to my native land, but yes it does have its beauty...the sea here has a calling effect not so much unlike my own planet's." "I actually like the green parts better," she admitted, her nose pressed up against the window. "Are you going down today?" Tethra looked at her and her odd gestures towards the ship's features. "Yes, I was planning on taking a trip down to the Planet's waters." She nodded and hugged herself. "Which ocean were you planning on going to?" He looked at her even more strange gestures. "I have swum in the pacific, so I believe I shall try the Atlantic on this trip to the planet." "Going to swim with anyone?" she asked him. "You know what they say... something along the lines of it's safer to swim with someone so when the shark attacks you there's someone to tell others that you're dead?" A smile played on her lips. Tethra looked at her, "At the present I believe not, and I do not think I would not need to worry about the sharks..." He answered her, not understanding any of the humour in her words. Syd shrugged. "Alright. Well, have fun." She looked away from him and out the window. "I think I'm off to my home... or where ever." Tethra looked at her, noticing something...perhaps from telepathy, or just from her sensory output. "Would you care to join me?" She nodded slowly. "Yes please." He looked at her, "Well, swimming with me will be different than swimming with any of the other crew members." He looked at her, feeling strangely sympathetic towards her. "I am not one to surface a lot, and I will definately not hug the coastline that much...do you understand?" She shook her head slowly. "No." With a grin she added, "But alright, I guess I'll get used to it eventually. Shall we?" Tethra nodded, "First set off to the equipment locker and get some diving equipment" "You lead, I'll follow," she told him. He nodded and began to leave the lounge and headed towards the Equipment locker and requested some items from the officer in charge. He picked up a starfleetish form of wet suit and diving mask which would intake the ocean water and create oxygen for the wearer to breathe. He hands it over to Sydney. "These should be the proper fit and size." She took them with a nod, "Thank you." "Put those on, and I shall meet you in transporter room one." Tethra looked at her once more "and please do not be liberal with the timing." Sticking her tongue out at his back at that comment, she went off to change into wet suit. About fifteen minutes later she walked into the transporter room, her long hair tucked into a large bun. Tethra watched as she arrived, he stood on the PADD dressed in nothing more than a tight fitting pair of shorts that had his commbadge fitted onto it. "I'd equip your mask and everything, right now." "Why's that?" she asked, looking quite confused. "We will transporting, directly to the Grand banks," Tethra paused for a moment "The water may not be joyful for you without your mask equipped." Syd rolled her eyes, but complied. After doing so she gave him a thumbs up signal to let him know she was all set. Tethra gave the officer in charge of the transport the signal to go and with that they beamed into the grand mass of the Atlantic Ocean. The day was clear and to either side of them they could see nothing but the grand ocean of Earth. Sydney bobbed in the water for a moment, and then slowly turned around, realizing how far they were out. She popped the mask off for a moment to laugh. "When you said we wouldn't be hugging the coastline you really meant it!" "The coastline is the most dangerous of any sea. Your species is unaware of that for they do not have the endurance to make it out this far and enjoy it." without another word he dived into the depths enjoying the rush as water filled his gills. Not one to be left out of the fun, Syd popped her mask back on and dove down with him. Tethra dived down deep, almost forgetting Sydney and her inability to sustain the great depths that he was far more than accustomed to. He looked up and noticed Sydney looking a little frantic as though she was about to be abandoned in the great Atlantic. He swam back up looking like a greenish Superman as he did it. After a certain depth Syd could not see as well, and felt as though she was loosing her bearings. Even though she could breathe well still, and knew that she would not drown necessarily, she felt as though she should find up, and find it quickly. ~Do not worry; I've got you~ Tethra said to Sydney using his underwater telepathy (OMG! Tethra is aquaman) he grabbed her and pulled her to a less extreme depth and where she could better able to manage. ~I forgot your limitations, you are much like in water as I am on land~ Sydney kept very still while being held on to by him, wondering if she could actually hear him under all this water, or if was just her mind playing tricks on her. After a moment she tried kicking towards the surface feeling almost frightened at the whole situation. Tethra let her go as they began to reach the surface. ~I believe you should return to the ship, you appear to be slightly frightened~ As Syd broke the surface she tugged her mask off and took deep breaths while kicking her legs to keep above water stance. She looked at him bobbing in front of him and asked, "What... the flipping heck... was that?" "What was what?" He looked at her wondering what she was talking about. "There was a whale not so far away from us, if that is what you meant." She looked at him speechless for a moment, trying to find the words to describe what she had just experienced. "You... were in... my head?" Even saying it out loud confused her. What was this thing that was before her? "In you head, what do you mean?" he looked at her and her confused expression and realized what she meant. "Oh, my species communicates telepathically when underwater, the water amplifies our telepathy which is why it is only used underwater." Sydney scoffed, "You could have warned me there buddy." "I am sorry, I believed you were informed" Tethra looked at her "I apologize, for making a false assumption." "It's... it's okay. It just startled me a bit, that's all." She sighed. "Maybe I should return to the ship." Tethra nodded at her. "That would most likely be best" She looked at him expectantly, as he did hold the commbadge on his pants. Tethra got the message and requested for Syd to be beamed back the ship. He himself decided to stay in the water for a bit and perhaps swim to the mainland. "Bye," Syd said before shimmering away and back to the ship. She shlomped (still be a bit wet) back to her quarters to change, wondering if she should have stayed or not and continued to swim with him. She scowled at herself, thinking not only had she screwed up with human lately, but also with... whatever Tethra was. Lt.(jg) Tethra Shoeny Medical Officer USS Agincourt Lt.Jg Sydney M. 8. Nemesis lay still on the biobed for a few moments, as reality slowly returned to him. Everything around him was blurry, and his eyes burning with the massive amount of emotional and physical pain he was feeling. He was finally able to bring forth words, except only slight murmurs in his native Monkien tongue. Miranda is looking over some work and hears something, when she turns around she notices Nemesis beginning to awaken. She walks over to him a little apprehensive "Please don't try and move you are in a security field" Nemesis tried to turn his eyes over to where the doctor is standing but all he could see was a slow moving black blur heading slowly towards him. "you had a heart attack, you are still very weak and need some rest you might be having a hard time breathing and seeing, but it will get better” Miranda slowly eased towards him to read the status the Monkien patient was presently in. He just moans a common Monkien phrase, in attempts to say that he can not understand what it is that she is saying, but was unaware that the dialect that he was presently speaking was foreign to everyone aboard the Arcadian vessel excluding him. Miranda looks at the Monkien small on human standards, but still dwarfing her and now speaking some gibberish… given, the last time she had seen him in sickbay she could not feel anything less than unnerved. She slowed her pronunciation "stay still". She scans him and sees that it will take a bit more time for him to get back to normal, whatever that is for him After a few more moments Nemesis’ vision begins to become more and more clear as he looks over at her, and finally able to communicate in English he manages to say "I can't move" Miranda having started on another project heard the faint plea for her simian patient and rushes over "Sir you need to stay still, you will be in a lot of pain for a while, just relax" "I can't move!" Nemesis struggles to move "Why can't I move?" heart rate beginning to increase, obvious that he is becoming increasing more panicked each moment. "Sir you are in a secure force field, you won't be able to" Miranda scrambling through her mind trying to equip that quick thinking that Starfleet medical is known for. "You need to calm down a bit alright" she starts to check his vital signs, rushes through her thought process to figure out how to appease this situation. "I can't calm down!" coughing hard, Nemesis continued to struggle "Take down the forcefield! Please take it down!" He looks panicked, and bewildered… like a wild animal trapped in an unknown terroritory. Miranda looks at him a bit hesitant "I am not allowed you, it is not my doing" Her voice strangely calm considering the fury she was feeling on the inside. She quickly figured out what she needed to do and tapped a few buttons on the head of the bed "I have widened the field a bit so you will have a bit more room" Nemesis takes a few deep breaths as he is able to move his body a bit; it is highly noticeable that he was close to hyper-ventilating. "I am sorry you must be a bit disoriented, you are in sickbay, and you had a heart attack and need rest the forcefield was a security precaution” Miranda said, a little worried on how he would react to those words. "A heart-attack?" taking more breaths "That doesn't sound like something that need a security precaution" Nemesis slowly calmed himself to where he could breathe normally Miranda looks around "It was not for the heart attack sir it was for…. uh other reasons, from what I understand" She knew what those reasons were, but was unsure exactly why they were. "I can remove it if you will reamain calm and stay here" "What do you mean other reasons?" Nemesis inquired, almost completely unconcerned with the forcefield itself. "Well…um…I know the last time I met with you weren't very...er…so nice so to speak" Miranda was aware she was beginning to loose composure, but was she to say? She regained her composure, for she knew that she had to keep these whole situation relaxed "I believe it was in response to that, but that is not the point, you had a major trauma, not only from the reawakening, but from the heart attack" She begins to catch her stride…"You need to rest and give your body time to recover, trust me on this" "Then please put down this forcefield" Nemesis growled, though it was not an aggressive growl "I cannot rest with this glimmering prison around me, it is quite unnerving" Nemesis himself knew that a brash reaction would only leave him in this prison so he used every ounce of his control in his replies. Miranda smiles at him and tries to make him feel a little more comfortable. "just rest and you will start feeling better, I’ll see what I can do with the forcefield" she nods slightly "alright, the field is as wide as it can go, rest and I will check on you in an hour and see how your progress is and I will see if we can get rid of it, please have faith that as your doctor I am doing everything in my power to help you" she takes a deep breath "I do not judge you for what you have done in the past, it frightened me when I met you, but I do not have any way to change how I feel or felt" She felt somewhat more at ease as she finished saying that. She grabs a hypo, feeling more safe to enter the Monkien’s enclosure. “This should help you rest.” She gently suppresses the Hypo in his arm. Nemesis coughed and began to fall back to sleep, but was able to mutter a thank you before he drifted off to sleep. Miranda watched him fall asleep and took a sigh of relief and walked out of the field. Ens. Nemesis Security Officer USS Arcadia Dr. Miranda Porter Medical Officer USS Arcadia

  16. Name: Nemesis Gender: Male Age: 75 Rank: Ensign Species: Monkien Home planet: Velga Father: Chaemin, Head Velnus of Velga(ruler), Monkien Mother: Freah, Head biologist of the Velgarian Science center, Monkien Siblings: 524 of them Height: 5'6" Weight:246lbs Identifying marks: a monkey like appearance, full body hair, hand like feet, a meter long tail. Overview: Being the Velnar of Velga (the eldest child of the Velnus and heir to the throne) Nemesis was provided with a great education. He was given a special gift a mind of his own and able to come up with his own beliefs. He gained knowledge whenever he could and grew a particular interest in biology for Velnar was indeed a jungle. At the tender age of 63 he told his father that he did not believe that Monkiens were not superior to the 2 other humanoid races which were used for slave labour. His father then disowned him and banished him from the planet on a small shuttle craft which he lived on for years working as a trader until he was discovered by a federation star ship. After his encounter with the star ship he decided to join the academy and with a recommendation by the captain of the star ship he had encountered he joined the Academy and studied the sciences mainly Biology. Upon graduation he joined the Arcadia as the first ever Monkien onboard or even seen by any human eyes. --------------------------------- During a shore leave Nemesis went to an undisclosed location and cloned himself, the clone was 1/8 the size of Nemesis due to the lack of proper equipment in federation. The clone now lives aboard the Arcadia capable of primitive Monkien vocalization. ------------------------------- Upon an away mission Nemesis was greeted to a hazardous radiation that was harmful to his genetic forcing his mutation into a large gorilla sized monster with an incredibly low IQ. In his mutated form he in turn damaged a large portion of the Arcadia corridors, and when he was finally confined he tore apart the Brig. The medical staff placed him in a stasis chamber and performed various treatments to repair his damaged DNA. Upon being released from the chamber he awoke in what appeared to be a new world to him but only several months from when he had last seen the Arcadia.

  18. Personal Log Ens. Nemesis Security Officer USS Arcadia Stardate: 110508.25 >Begin Log< Nemesis lie on a biobed his conscious shut off but his unconscious wild with memories that had been forgotten. One involving his Father, the Velnus of Velga, putting to death his very first friend. The lifeless body falling to the ground had been scorched in his brain but deeply hidden to prevent the pain he felt that day from ever again hurting him ever again. That wish however was not granted and the pain was coming back to him, all though he was unconscious the tears still streamed from his eyes and slowly dripped on the biobed in which he lay upon. His memory shifted to a more recent time a time right after he last could remember before the mutation, the death of his second friend. The pain from his death one could have argued to be the breaking point in which lead to his mutation, perhaps the primitive outlet he needed for the tremendous pain that filled his heart and soul. His mind just kept flashing the soot that was what Seiben had become over and over, now it was clear that the Arcadia he left behind was no more, it had become a ship full of new people and many who were afraid of him. Many of his old friends too had now become nervous and unsure how to act around him, and good old Koshnic had become bitter to something he could not possibly know. The final memory that came to him in his unconscious state was one of his birth, noticing the date in a calendar behind one of the Monkien females getting his genetic chamber ready. The date of the calendar would translate to precisely 75 earth years from today, the day that he lie there because his heart had failed him… >End<
