  1. MISSION BRIEF: The AT has had a rather... fun time. But the party is over and night has set in and they're preparing to make a break for it. On Talon a meeting has been called to discuss the rescue and the continuing sensor problems. 121108.txt
  2. MISSION BRIEF: The AT has been taken in as Gods or something to that affect, but we don't know that yet, where aboard ship the malfunctions continue even after the sensor nodes have been cleaned. Engineering is working finding the underlying cause. On the Oira, we have learned that the AT might be in trouble. 120408.txt
  3. Mission Summary | November 20, 2008 Aboard the ship, the malfunctions continued and N'Dak briefed t'Rexan on the situations. Planetside, the AT found themselves encircled by the natives, who shockingly considered them to be some sort of Gods or something and took them back to their village for what looks like is going to be a night of feasting. On Talon, sensors had borked and the capturing of the AT went unnoticed until it was too late. An exchange between t'Aehjae and Destorie ended in the former being put on report. An OOC Note: Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, Talon will not be running this week.
  4. MISSION BRIEF: The Away Team is watching the death of some sort of beast and then the after party. On Talon, Laehval thinks she's figured out why sensors continue to fail and has begun the process of cleaning every node on the ship. Sickbay is having more Jello. 111308.txt
  5. Re: Wiki I've flirted with the idea of a wiki, and I know Lo's Arcadia site is a wiki itself. I think it could be really useful if people put the time into it, but I am not sold that we have the user base to generate enough content to make it work.
  6. Mission Summary | November 13, 2008 The victory dance on the planet ended as the rain picked up, the AT decided to return to the holoblind but found a swollen river blocking their path. They first tried to site-to-site with the aid of Talon, but that revealed the sensor nodes to be failing again, even after being scrubbed. This has a very upset Daise'Engineer and also an upset XO. http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=17324
  7. MISSION BRIEF: On the planet the AT is stalking a native hunting party, while on the ship sensors are tripping but the systems themselves seem to be working fine. N'Dak has ordered a complete investigation into the malfunctions. Questions? 110608.txt
  8. Mission Summary | November 6, 2008 The away team watched as the hunters tracked and killed their prey and began some sort of victory dance while a light rain began to fall. Meanwhile aboard the ship, the Medical team and t'Rexan had jello talk. Engineering found that the sensor malfunctions were due to over-saturation of the sensor nodes and have begun with all available crew help the tedious process of cleaning the nodes one by one. http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=17283
  9. Clouds rolled in from the distance. The gods were rumbling. In the distance the wind began to surge, rustling the leaves of trees and the blades of tall grass. The swirling winds would confuse the prey and make it unwilling to move, this was good. Thalmaeix the Strong glanced to his spear before looking to rest of the hunting party. Eight of them sat out from the village when a young one spotted the Galnin beast on the outskirts of the village, and though the gods looked as if they would rain down water and thunder from the sky, he had not wanted to miss the opportunity to get such a prize that would feed them for many days, and produce a great fur to present as a trophy to the neighboring villages. They had stalked the Galanin beast now for over thirty deko’a and he’d lead them into this wooded valley where it prepared to meet it the end of the cycle. Thalmaeix knew that brining down such an animal would not be easy, and though he was strong with spear, the hide of the beast would not pierce easily. To counter that, they’d brought with them spears tipped in Amberisol, the weapon of the ancient gods. Hopefully that would bring down the great beast before it could injure any of his men. This was not a task for the old or lame and the make up of the hunting party reflected it, all eight of them were veterans of the hunt, save for Kobalx, son of Gaethir. He was the youngest of the group and decidedly the greenest, but Thalmaeix had decided it was time for the young warrior to gain a taste of the hunt. It was he who Thalmaeix worried for most, for he was young and inexperienced and the beast would smell fear in him and strike at him first. Movement caught his eye and refocused his thoughts. That was not a Galanin beast…
  10. Destorie glanced to the flicker light on the console of the command chair telling him that some system on the bridge was apparently failing and that they would all be dead in less than five seconds. He shook his head and rubbed at his eyes with a slight yawn. If this was what t'Ksa called 'light duty' he'd be surprised. The report from engineering would be telling, but until then he and the rest of the crew was left to speculate on the failure of the sensor nodes. Popular theories were beginning to make the rounds. t'Aehjae, being a typical Romulan suspected foul play. Destorie had humored her and had her run some extra patrols, but didn't suspect anything would come of it. More likely, he postulated, the extra radiation had fried circuits and it was some sort of delayed reaction. Regardless it was a troublesome situation that needed resolved. Meanwhile, the away team was apparently skulking about watching some privative aliens hunt some sort of forest creature. It sounded rather boring to Destorie, but then again, that's why he wasn't a scientist. He only hoped they didn't end up on spit or something as dinner, because if he had to go down their and save their rear-ends... not only would they never hear the end of it, he'd never hear the end of it for letting them go down in the first place. It was a reminder, a stark one, of how tenuous his position as executive officer of the Talon was. If he screwed up, he wouldn't put it above t'Rexan to suddenly replace him with the next person in line, just to watch him fail. Somedays, he thought the woman lived off making him miserable. He paused, forcing the bitterness away. In the past he'd been bitter, angry and resentful of her command tactics, and all that had brought him was more trouble than it was worth. He'd figured out that there was little he could do to control her actions, beyond doing the best job he could. If that wasn't enough for her, well then what could he do? He sighed and went back to the personnel review he was working on when the shift started; right now he was going to worry about those things he could control and not worry about those which he could not.
  11. Mission Summary | October 30, 2008 The away team noticed a hunting party and decided to leave the protection of their halo-blind to track them. Meanwhile t'Rexan and t'Ksa discussed her laser-eyeball, cookies and jello; t'Ditsy and t'Random got in a slap fight; elsewhere sensors have been giving faulty readings all over the ship and Engineering is working on replacing the malfunctioning nodes and finding a cause. http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showt...st=0#entry85420
  12. Mission Summary | October 9-23, 2008 Talon arrived at a small M-class world and began scanning it. Intial scans showed no higher lifeforms, but a more detailed scan revealed a bronze-age culture. Science requested, and then in command Destorie approved, a mission to study this culture in their early development. The team consisted of Issaha and Sar'vek along with tr;Khev. Meanwhile, t'Rexan has been released from Medical and has returned to Oira duty. t'Aehjae has also recovered and returned to work.
  13. Mission Summary | October 2, 2008 Talon approached and began to scan an uninhabited system while most of the senior staff recuperated in sickbay. Destore and Morgana discussed, among other things, him returning to light Oira duty. Chat Log: http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=17043
  14. MISSION BRIEF: The recovery continues in sickbay, where the now bald XO is feeling better, t'Ditsy had to be knocked out and the musician is wishing he were elsewhere. t'Aehjae had an adverse reaction to her treatment and t'Rexan remains stable, but in recovery. On the Oira they have began moving to our next destination, an uninhabited system a few light years away. 100208.txt
  15. Mission Summary | September 26, 2008 With the XO, CO, CSEC and two assistants in medical, the action focused their where t'Ditsy was inconsolable and t'Aehjae had a reaction to the radiation treatments. Chat Log: http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=16931
  16. Mission Summary | September 4-28, 2008 Trapped in a RAC, t'Ditsy and N'Dak attempted to keep themselves alive, while Talon tried to save them while not getting crispy themselves. Luckily for the executive officer and his companion, they managed to get the RAC drifting towards Talon, who picked up the thruster burst and snagged them in a tractor beam. However, the shuttle received a heavy dose of radiation, and both t'Ditsy and N'Dak were rushed to medical to begin treatment. In all the commotion, t'Rexan was trapped behind radiation areas, but in a fairly safe zone. After t'Ditsy and N'Dak were safe, rescue of t'Rexan got underway. 17. Mission Briefing: When we last left off, the crew had rescued NDak and tDitsy from the RAC <that's a large shuttle>, and had taken them to medbay. While tr'Khev was assisting getting the KhreRiov out of where she had been trapped between the protective bulkheads. However, no sooner than he gave her some water to help her clear her throat from the thick heavy smoke that had been closed in around her, she passed out, leaving trKheve with a bad shoulder, and the Khre'Riov needing to be moved. 091808.txt
  18. Mission Summary | August 21-28, 2008 As the Talon crew prepares to depart from the Korvalis flare, it unexpectedly resumes activity. The ship remains to conduct more studies on the unprecedented scientific event, and to determine who or what launched their RAC. The solar flare's display continues, coming dangerously close to Talon. The RAC, determined to be crewed by N'Dak and t'Ditsy, is in even more danger, and the crew struggles to find a way to retrieve their officers before the radiation reaches critical levels. Chat Log: http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=16782
  19. MISSION BRIEFING: After having observed the plasma flare and recorded what data we were going to get on that mission, we had prepared to get underway and resume our exploration of the Gamma Quadrant. As the Talon was about to get underway, the Flare became active again, disrupting our sensors and tossing the ship about. While shields were holding, and would for just a short while longer....it was noted that one of our RAC was missing....and suddenly noted that not only was it missing, but NDak was not on the ship either.... 082808.txt 082108.txt
  20. Mission Summary | August 14, 2008 Talon arrives at the Koralis star, where it takes base readings before the magnificent solar flare begins. The crewmembers (those with a nearby porthole, that is) are treated to a show rivaling the best aurora borealis or fireworks display. Science and Operations coordinate sensor sweeps for a later report to the Galae, while medical is occupied tending to tr'Khev's rehabilitation. 21. Mission Briefing: The Talon, having entered the Gamma Quadrant, and having dropped our communications relay (and also ship entering and leaving wormhole recording device) we're working our way into the quadrant to see what we can learn and see what footholds we could make strides on here. At the suggestion of NDak, and the fervent agreement from science, we are stopping by to observe a rare plasma flare before we continue on our way 081408.txt
  22. The hard, cold steel of his mug clanked lightly against the table in the senior officer’s mess. Coffee, at least the Romulan version of it, was one of the few true guilty pleasures he actually indulged himself during missions. Daise’Erei’Riov Destorie N’Dak shuffled through the stack of ISD’s on the table looking at the headers briefly, wondering where the elusive io he sought had wondered off to while he wasn’t looking. Finding it, he sighed happily. Momentarily, he wondered just exactly what he was thinking when he took the position of executive officer, and why anyone would actively seek such a job. For all the perks of the office, they did na, in his opinion, out weight all the damned paperwork he was now in charge of keeping track of and assuring was filed correctly or the dozens of minor tiffs between personnel that he now had to resolve. Case in point, he currently held in his hand the requisitions for every ounce of cargo moved aboard the vessel during the refit and then resupplying in preparation for the year-long mission to the Gamma Quadrant. Not only did he have to check off that all of the supplies were properly delivered, he also had to make sure that they were also stored properly; that all of the equipment was functional, and installed correctly; that all of the new crew were settled in properly and integrated into duty shifts. On top of that, as the numerous ISD’s indicated, he also had a report on the wormhole transit to supervise, compile and deliver to the Khre’Riov himself, Oira duty shifts to organize, sensor time while they were at the Plasma Flare to allocate, a report on that to send to the science geeks, a report on the status of a complaint filed by an assistant deckhand against his immediate supervisor to file and then resolve said complaint, a grievance filed by a member of the cook staff against some erien in Engineering (apparently said erein had ‘rigged the cookstove to burn off his eyebrows’) to resolve… the list went on without end. His mother propped herself on his shoulder next to his sister, both of whom were giggling. “It is because au can na resist power, Sheuiji.” Batting a hand in the air, he mentally told the figments to "buzz off’’ as the Lloann’na would say. True he did like power; however, power came at price… and all of this damn paperwork was more than he’d bargained. It was like that time on Qo’Nos where he’d bought a glorious vintage skiff from a Ferengi dealer only to end up putting more money into repairing the engines that he’d been assured were in ‘better shape than when they were new’ and fixing a leaky seal that caused water to flow in and nearly swamp the skiff when it was at speed. The only difference was that then he could track down the Ferengi dealer and hold his lobes at knife point till he gave him his money back (and enough to cover the repairs). He could not, however, hold t’Rexan at knife point. Well, not without getting more scars on his back or burned by lasers. Or hooked. A shudder traveled over his body and he felt a sudden, sharp, searing pang in the scars on his back at the thought. Yeah, no knife point. No, he’d have to finish all this paper work and resolve the disputes. And that was assuming nothing came up in the next several hours; in this quadrant Elements only knew what could be lurking behind any corner. He glanced back to the paperwork and sighed. He needed another cup of coffee.
  23. Mission Summary | July 31-August7, 2008 Talon completed her brief lay-over at Deep Space Nine, picking up last minute supplies and updating our starcharts for the year long mission before transiting the wormhole. The trip through the wormhole proved to be mostly uneventful, though rougher of a ride than most had anticipated, resulting in tr'Khev getting locked in his own br'tehh. The Khre'Riov has requested that Daise'Erei'Riov N'Dak investigate further to assure that no problems resulted in the ride and that it was simply normal turbulence. Once emerging, t'Rexan noted that they would avoid the Lloann'na station in the Avalon system and instead head off in the opposite direction where vasts amounts of unexplored space lay ready for Talon to reveal the mysteries of this dark quadrant. After some discussion, N'Dak suggested they head towards the Kovaris Plasma Flare as it was expected to begin a period of activity. Science gleefully agreed and t'Rexan complied. Talon heads towards the phenomena where they hope to be the first Romulan vessel to witness one of the active period, first hand. 24. Mission Summary | July 24, 2008 Having crossed into Federation space with na issue, the Talon made her way to DS9. t'Rexan got us clearance to pass through and managed to sweet talk the station OPS into letting Laehval and Ksa beam over for one hour to procure star charts and medical supplies. Meanwhile. tr'Pexil found out what deck plating tastes like and N'Dak and Khev met to discuss the latter's duties while he recovers from being mugged; Khev was shocked at how nice the Daise'Erei'Riov could be.
