  1. Mission Log AT to Organia Ens. Tabor Nansk, reporting Piloted the shuttle Taurus for an exploratory mission to the surface of Organia. Routine departure and the outbound leg saw no anomalies, although communications were erratic and sometimes lost between the AT and the Reaent due to atmospheric interference. Flight was smooth except for some slight turbulence upon entering the planet's upper atmosphere. The landing zone was chosen midway between two settlements identified by earlier planetary scans. After some initial reconnaissance and an incident of momentary confusion by Lt. Murray, the away team split into two groups and I accompanied PO2 Shamor to the northern settlement. The buildings seemed undamaged, but apparently abandoned many years before. The interior contents had been removed or scavenged leaving only piles of useless scrap. Local scans showed no trace of life forms or energy signatures. After a couple hours of searching and finding nothing that would shed some light on the Organians, the two teams rejoined at the shuttle. Departure from the planet was routine, although I chose a vertical liftoff vector to gain altitude quickly in case the spatial confusion that struck Lt. Murray was due to an unknown local phenomenon. The inbound leg was again uneventful, and communications with the Reaent were re-established during final approach to the shuttle bay. Landing and systems shutdown was routine, and the shuttle was scheduled for post-flight checks and maintenance by ship personnel. End log.

  3. Personal log – Ens. Tabor Nansk; USS Reaent After my visit to the Quartermaster's office, I now have two prize possessions – A room to call my own, and the uniform of a starship! I'm in #1308, deck 13, room 8, Junior Officers' Quarters – with emphasis on junior. But I don't care, it's perfect and I'm home. I tossed my bag in the closet and flopped on the bed. I think I've been up for what feels like 100 hours. Come to think of it, I don't have any assignments yet, so maybe I could take a good long nap! Yes, decorating can wait. Besides, after seeing the condition of the flight deck I get the feeling we're going to be putting in some pretty long hours real soon. Not that the repair crews haven't done some wonders – I heard about the condition of the ship when she arrived – but there's still a long way to go. The best part is the fighters! They'll top anything the Academy had for trainers. I'm glad I put in all those hours flight testing the repaired birds at the maintenance yard. The variety of handling characteristics I've experienced is going to do me well here. I can't wait to get a fighter of my own! End Log
  4. After Mr. Angel left me on the flight deck to attend a briefing by the Captain, I made my way back to Flight Ops to retrieve my gear. I'm sitting here using the office console to post my first log as a Reaent crewmember because I haven't been assigned quarters yet. I feel like one of the homeless ones living under the bridges in San Francisco around the academy. Not quite the start I had in mind.
