  7. Personal Log:Angelis,John,A.,Lt.Jg. Computer begin recording:...Beep Taking a break in the longue after debriefing from the last mission waiting for his pilots to join up does have a distinct advantage, one may acquire their beverage of choice before the crowd gathers,we had been dispatched to intercept an antique federation ship known as the Richmond, apparently it had been repaired by someone and set about the task of attacking the Reaent ,that was probably the dumbest event I have been enabled to witness ,the ship had been altered a bit,.granted.,however it still remains in my opinion likened to an ant attacking a great white shark. We had taken both fighter groups out in expectation of a pitted battle,it did power up main weapons array, and smaller craft from the planet did come along side her adding to perception they were in fact readying for combat,we were instructed to fall back and take a point of observation, and defense between the vessel and the Reaent..we complied, then quickly as they had powered up,the Richmond began to power down their weapons was this some kind of ploy to take us off guard, well if so they have no idea what kind of grief we can rain down upon them, more than they could possibly envision. At any rate we were then ordered to begin withdrawing from the field..slowly,one or two fighters at the time, the other ships that had joined the Richmond broke from formation and headed back to the planet, the fighter squadron "A"was ordered to follow,at a long distance so as not to possibly encourage a confrontation, and was doing so when their squadron had received the recall order as well,I know my friend and fellow pilot all to well...it in all probability made no logic to him, totally illogical from a tactical point of view,he paused to sip from his tall neat scotch,ah...best 100 year old scotch in this part of the quadrant...::snickering:: I can just see V'roy now, well he and Alpha squadron should be about finished by now, think I will pour him a drink, and one for Zafira as well they as myself will need one when they get here...I just know the nature of the beast. Computer...End Log:....Beep!
  8. ::just takes the "Fifth",hopefully it will be grey goose,or 100 year old scotch,or at least a good Congac:: :P    :D

  12. A Time To Stop And Smell The Star Dust... Personal Log: Angelis,John,A.,Lt.Jg. Computer begin recording:...Beep Both fighter groups have been ordered to power down weapons and fall back to a safe point between the Reaent, and the vessel that not long ago appeared to be preparing to begin an attack on both the ship,as well as the combined fighter groups...something has occurred though, for just as quickly the vessel began to power down their main weapons, our sensors have verified that, both groups are still standing by in the event they make a mistake,or change their minds and pursue an aggressive course of action...that would be a tactical error on their part..we still maintain the ability to react on a moments notice, literally be upon them before they could blink, that is the upside, the downside of course being should they amass a sudden strike,no doubt we will suffer losses...but they will pay dearly for that. Angel was looking at the star patterns, groups, nebulae, from the venue of the cockpit the opportunity to just sit and enjoy the vast panoramic view from this perspective..seeing the galaxy unfold like an exquisite canvas and painting ,truly a masterpiece wrought by a masterful hand,to see and appreciate the view with your own eyes, not as seen through a sensor image on a screen...no this way is much better,we are not afforded this luxury very often due to the nature of the business of being a fighter pilot. The various colors, and shapes of gaseous cloud formations to the exacting placement and rotation of a spiral galaxy in the distant, comets with an almost spectral ghostly trail in tow as it travels towards the sun of a faraway system...the enormity of the view can be a humbling event in it's own right, planetary bodies the colors bright, spread across the visual spectrum ..and the dark, ebony asteroids as well seeming to counter balance the others, all in their place, each playing their part in a visual extravaganza fit for any observer that merely taking the time to do so. With each passing moment I am aware of the situation we are facing, and we are ready to respond,it just makes the time pass easier ,less stressful, when one can stop and smell the star dust......Computer...End Log:...Beep.
  13. Really liked the way stewies chin rippled in the eulogy scene...
  14. What is the ultimate numerical equation...
  15. Pilots Log : Angelis,John,A. Lt.Jg., U.S.S. Reaent.....Computer begin recording: Beep: Moving into launch position..he toggled the comm switch to the bravo squadron and relayed the order to move to launch position, and ready for launch...I am impressed by the concise and orderly movement of the combined fighter squadrons ,both "A",and "B" squadrons as they move into position and working as a well oiled machine..both moving as if in time to the directions of a consummate leader or director of an orcheorstra. My friend and leader of "A" squadron DA is watching as well as the fighters align with the center line that is painted and lit on the deck indicating the vector for take off..We know all to well the rapid and sequential lighting known as and referred to as the "Rabbit"..,noting as each pilot assumes the ready position..watching as the hovering fighters hold, rising and falling as the engines are spooled to the ready state...rising and falling as if they are a living and breathing being, perhaps akin to an attack animal of sorts...and in that they most certainly are, for we fly the dogs of war. Looking at the overhead display of the condition alert screen mounted prominently forward of the runway..a blinking red beacon...all of us awaiting for the moment when it will transition from the red to green..indicating clear for launch,a go if you will, backed up by the launch order from the flight ops.officer...tensions are high, the pilots and their fighters look to be straining to be set loose to climb to meet whatever destiny awaits us,tension so apparent and permeable one could cut it with a knife..awaiting the order to cry havoc, and loose the dogs of war.....Computer ,End Log...
  16. Happy Chinese New Year All...Year of the Gold Oinker (pig)... ;)
  17. Computer begin recording:..the familiar beep signaled the ready mode of his personal pilots log ready to receive, the squadrons are at ready to be launched into a full blown confrontation with the one vessel they have been at a standoff with, hopefully this will allow us by way of an advanced partythe ability to gain entrance onto that blasted ship, while creating a distraction, and revealing a weakside to their defenses. I am looking around the bay at the various faces of our fighter crews, all ready, but each in theirown way concealing the overwhelming anexity to meet the unknown challengers in close combat they almost remind me of a large contingent of throughbred stallions at the starting gate of a major race to win some kind of trophy,no glory, just their collective duties to the ship and crew. We are holding and awaiting orders to launch,I can feel the sweat as it trickles down inside my flight suit, every sense heightened, muscles tensed and awaiting the command to perform, mind on an unconscious level going over tactical options..to be a reflexive action, instinctive, without havingthe burden to wait and take time to decide on a course of action. If you wait in fighter combat, you die, pure and simple, combat at the most basic and purest form I know of other than possibly the gladiators of eons past relying only on training, your skill, and the only weapons you bring to the field of battle..I can only pray should this action come to fruition our own accounting will be great, and our losses be few...Computer: End Log...beep.
  18. Fry bread, with Borg on the side, with plenty of Ketchup... ;)
  19. Will not touch vista for at least 1-2 years to allow Micro Soft the opp. to work out the bugsheck,I have just upgraded to xp/pro from 98se/plus,and would not have done so if the oldos was still supported, and able to run properly with the comp.upgrade. My new comp./upgrade is ready for vista when Vista is fixed ,and btw,get rid of IE 7.0,it isreceiving a lot of negative reports from a large amount of people, everyone cannot be wrong.... ;)
  20. Really irks me...lack of quality guitar commercials..(Fender,Gibson,E,etc.) you hear it in the commercials, but no commercials for the instruments,...lets see american Idol, etc. even a nerd show,...but no music......hmmmm...so bye bye american pie..
  21. Reflections...A personal log,Angelis,John,A.Lt.Jg.,: Fighter Pilot:,U.S.S. Reaent It had started ,the endless review of video/pictorial review of the vessel we were looking down the tubes of looking for some type of data that would aid us in the obvious encounter with, and possibly a certain confrontation with. We had all the facts, and extrapolations we could divinefrom the sensors, scans, a futile attempt to beam an away team/boarding party,to possibly infiltrate the ship,..I had a feeling that was a lost venture from the start and had voiced my suspicions concerning that proposal, infantile, and basic tactical approach at best. I am of course concerned with possibility that whatever race took an intrest and the repair, and modifications of that vessel, did so to to a degree and scope that may be far beyond our ability to cope with,.::sipping his coffee::..resume:: I have reflected on our previous missions,as well as my personal experience,..my teachings from my people have demonstrated the value of a surprise attack, where you literally split the attention of the enemy,if nothing this doesreveal their strengths and weakness, and formulate an enhanced attack plan,or create a diversion so a select few may enter and attack, possibly turning the outcome of a battle..computer,ref:: General George custer at the Greasy Grass/Little big horn).. ::computer::...acknowledged::,Custer put all his eggs in one basket, had little,or limited intel, and acted predictably, that wound up with his forces being split, and ultimately lost the element of surprise, and ergo not only his life, but the lives of his men. My people, both American Indian,as well as my Scottish lineage have been at the forefront of war, peace, and defense oftheir respective countries in time in memorial, they have survived by not being stupid, and exercise any tactical advantage they happened into...this is in my opinion just the case,I am well aware of the possible consequences of such an action as I have suggested tactically. I am just as aware of the possible outcome of not pursuing the same suggestion,...and the alternative is just as bad,if not more of an unacceptable end...Computer::end log::
  22. Jeesh...better not send in a recent pic then of myself....
  23. Ok,know it is a stretch, but still desiring the ultimate numerical equation(number)..
  24. Should you require a more frequent infusion of Mr.Burton ...,he can be viewed regularly on your local PBS television channel, a venue he and I do subscribe to,and promote. What better way to influence young, and older minds in a positive way not available to those of the general population not afforded cable,or sattelite recption,in such a positive venue of communication,or teaching...
  25. Actually post review of that picture,it reminded me of a better age,an age of wholsome good.
