  1. SD 1227.2015 - No Sim (Christmas) SD 0103.2016 While en route to Camelot, Excalibur intercepted a distress call from the Federation's flagship in the quadrant, the command and control, Aventine-class USS Vatican, under the command of Irae Varen. They were under attack from Jem'Hadar forces, but also being co-defended by them. Excalibur managed to even the numbers. The attacking Dominion forces retreated as Semil -- of the Hundred -- arrived with several additional vessels. Now we look to find out what we walked into, and to tend to our damage and wounded.

  13. SD 1108.2015 We are now only a week or so out from our drop off point for the convoy at the New Bajor colony. Our own voyage has been safe and relatively uneventful, though everyone is getting a bit stir crazy after nearly three weeks at ~warp 4~ with periodic breaks and breakdowns of the aging convoys. Meanwhile, around us, the situation continues to remain dire as more systems fall back under the yoke of the Dominion, and fighting between the Dominion and the Hundred has sporadically broken out. Their are also ongoing reports that suggest a third and possibly fourth faction, far more militant, have sprung up within the Dominion, and whole planets have been found desolated.
  14. Cptn Swain -> MISSION BRIEF: The convoy of refugees has begun exiting the system. At the same time, the Dominion have arrived, ahead of schedule. One of the Bajoran transports, the Plains of Somilar (sp?) however, has had trouble with their systems and is lagging behind. The Dominion fleet will overtake them before they clear far enough to jump to warp. The Excalibur and her fighter group have fallen out of formation, putting themselves between the Dominion and PoS. 15. SD 1025.2015 - No Sim SD 1101.2015 The convoy of refugees has began exiting the system. At the same time, the Dominion have arrived, ahead of schedule. One of the Bajoran transports, the Plains of Somilar (sp?) however, has had trouble with their systems and is lagging behind. The Dominion fleet will over take them before they clear far enough to jump to warp. The Excalibur and her fighter group have fallen out of formation, putting themselves between the Dominion and PoS.
  16. MISSION BRIEF: The evacuation and conversion of the science labs into Noah's Ark has gone mostly according to K'Hal's schedule save for a small mix up that resulted in much of the bridge crew learning several new Caitian curses. She was still wearing the slightly different version of the flight suit pilots wore.:: Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ACTION> Right on cue, a small group of refugees in the cargo bay breaks into a scuffle over one of the beds. Each of them had a sick child and had reached the bed at the same time. The men were now in a shoving / shouting match. William Chocox -> Commander, what are we building? Jas -> Oh, for -- ::quickly makes his way over to the scuffle, trying to get in between the two men:: Hey, hey! Move back! Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Hands a PADD to Miranda with tired smile:: Commander. Tandaris Admiran -> I haven't gotten that far. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Refugee 1> This is OUR bed! Our child is very ill! ::He shoved Jas into the other man.:: Tandaris Admiran -> I thought about building another cloaking device, but they keep confiscating those. ::shrugs:: So I'm not sure it's worth it. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Refugee 2> ::Shoves Jas back at the other man.:: Our child is ill as well! Ill-est! Rhan K'hal -> :: swivels and gives a weary wave at d'A :: William Chocox -> ::keeps rubbing his temples to the point where he might start boring a couple holes into his head:: How do you not know what you want to build? Tandaris Admiran -> That's the whole point. This is a creative activity. Think of it as one of those boring teambuilding things the other departments force people to do. Hunter Matheson -> ::quick page back to the latest updates:: Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Nods to Rhan, who she knew was doing more than his fair share of work keeping all the pieces moving:: Tandaris Admiran -> Only in this case, we get to make something that could explode! Jas -> ::pushes off the other man, holding both arms out to them:: Stop this right now! Shouting and arguing will not solve this! We will find beds for both of your children! Tandaris Admiran -> Look at it! ::points Chocox in the direction of the pile of parts:: Inspiration will strike. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::Taking the PADD from the pilot, she nodded.:: Just coming off a scouting flight, d'Aubigne? Or was it another training mission? William Chocox -> Where are the other engineers? Rhan K'hal -> :: notes that the offending freighter captain apparently didn't want to be beamed into the warp core as he's behaving himself now; nods in satisfaction and greets the latest shuttle to be sent in the Excal's direction with the protocols :: Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> Scouting mission. Fleet ops has us circling out as far as we can, then coming back. Their normal fighter patrols are busy playing babysitter to all the itinerates. Tandaris Admiran -> ::waves hand:: They have to watch the ship to make sure someone doesn't drop a tool or something. William Chocox -> And I'm supposed to build some random piece of equipment. Tandaris Admiran -> Don't you ever just want to _build_ stuff? Tandaris Admiran -> Didn't you start your path to engineering fascinated with taking things apart, and putting them together—often in different configurations? William Chocox -> Yes, but none of them involved portable fusion reactors. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Lt. Klein> ::Wading in with Jas, he grabbed one of the men by the collar.:: William Chocox -> Except after that one time. Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Glances over to Hunter, briefly:: If the Gunny is bored sitting on his hands, I am sure the transport wing wouldn't mind another fresh pilot. The transporters on Avalon Base are getting a bit overwhelmed and Fleet Ops has asked for assistance in moving cargo down to the surface. Medical supplies, food and water mostly. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Refugee 1> ::Gives Jas another shove.:: We were here first! Make them leave! Hunter Matheson -> ::swivels toward the commander::: Tandaris Admiran -> ::sees that little glimmer:: Ahhhhh. Now we're talking. Tandaris Admiran -> So, no fusion reactor. ::tosses it aside nonchalantly, hears it "thunk" against the floor:: William Chocox -> I nearly killed myself that time. Rhan K'hal -> :: takes the wee bit of a pause in between processing to get up and stretch, immediately swapping over to the oversized PADD he has a tendency to use while he escapes his console :: Jas -> ::moves up into Refugee 1's personal bubble and grabbing his collar:: Sir, calm down, or I will have to resort to force. Hunter Matheson -> ::isn't exactly sitting on his hands, but...:: Hunter Matheson -> ::figures it's her call:: Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::She tilted her head, peering at Hunter.:: It really is up to you. We aren't doing much in the way of flight at the moment, and anything that comes up can be shunted to K'hal. So if you want to be more useful... by all means. ::She waved a hand at the fighter pilot.:: Tandaris Admiran -> ::finds some emitter coils:: We could build some extremely fashionable personal forcefields. Hunter Matheson -> ::blows out a breath, considering:: Uh.. sure, ma'am. I'd be glad to help. ::under his breath:: I think.. Maryse Dubois -> ::Steps up behind Jas, seeing the fighting.:: What is going on? Rhan K'hal -> Right. I think I have a square centimeter or two left on my console display for the helm controls. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Lt. Klein> Stun him if he doesn't cooperate, Ensign. ::He had the second refugee backed up, though the man was glaring daggers.:: You... go. There's another bed over there, unoccupied. I'll send one of the nurses over shortly. Rhan K'hal -> :: grabs the Caitian equivalent of coffee from the replicator and returns to said console :: Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Smiles:: If you're up for it, Gunny. We've got more flights than pilots, so we're running ourselves a little thin. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Refugee 1> ::Doesn't like having hands on him and slaps Jas' away. He glowers back.:: We were here first! My child needs medical attention! Hunter Matheson -> Yes, sir. ::gives helm to Rhan:: Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Exhales:: And from the looks of things, only going to get worse. William Chocox -> Fine, I'll find something to make. Maryse Dubois -> And they will have it. I am the lead physician on this ship. Hunter Matheson -> ::slipping out from helm, he steps up with the pilot;: Jas -> ::draws phaser, keeping it pointed low at the refugee's legs:: Do you hear that? There's another bed for their child. Your child can have the bed, sir, so I suggest you calm down now. Hunter Matheson -> : :D'Aubigne:: What class are we looking at, sir? Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> ::Miranda threw a glance at Rhan.:: You complain much, but I think you secretly like the chaotic responsibility often thrown your way. If I didn't think you couldn't handle it, I wouldn't give it to you. Tandaris Admiran -> ::murmurs:: Fashionable personal forcefield with an emergency overload option…. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Refugee 2> ::Pushes in from the other side, knocking Klein into Maryse.:: Why should we leave? We were here first! Our child needs medical attention, more! Rhan K'hal -> Grumbling makes it more enjoyable, Commander. William Chocox -> You want me to make another thing that explodes? Tandaris Admiran -> ::looks around, mock innocence:: What? No. Of course not. I said nothing. Rhan K'hal -> :: pokes at the console :: +Misc Freighter+ Five minutes less than the last time you asked me. Ask again the time estimate is going to go up. Excalibur out. William Chocox -> ::gives him a look:: Tandaris Admiran -> But if you wanted to build a chamber and delivery mechanism to emit anaesthesine…. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Your hair seems to be growing back nicely. You'll soon have one less thing to grumble about. ::Glances to the data padd the pilot had given her.:: William Chocox -> Isn't that illegal? Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Refugee 1> ::Glares at Jas, but doesn't push him again.:: Rhan K'hal -> I still won't be entering any beauty contests on Cait for another month. Tandaris Admiran -> ::wide grin:: Not in the Gamma Quadrant,. William Chocox -> We're still a Federation Ship. Tandaris Admiran -> You won't be a young buck forever, Chocox. You won't always be able to fight your way out of bar brawls. Jas -> ::motions from the first refugee to the bed, leaving the other refugee to Lt. Klein:: If you will. Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Motions for Hunter to follow her:: We're using the Danubes for some other things, so mostly just the Orions and the Canberras. Hunter Matheson -> ::cracks knuckles:: Security details? Maryse Dubois -> ::Braces herself off Klein to keep from falling.:: This is ridiculous. William Chocox -> That doesn't mean we need chemical warfare. William Chocox -> Where are we going to hide something like that anyway? Tandaris Admiran -> You use a molecular sieve to disperse the anaesthezine between the molecules of the casing, and then suspend it using a magnetic field. William Chocox -> ::facepalms:: Tandaris Admiran -> ::grabs a microsoldering gun and starts fusing emitter coils to a capacitor:: William Chocox -> And how do you explain that to a superior officer? Rhan K'hal -> :: does a lot of poking and prodding at the console for a few moments, with the occasional scowl and snarl :: Tandaris Admiran -> You don't actually have to use this thing. Tandaris Admiran -> We're just having fun. Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Getting into the lift, and directing it towards the hanger deck:: Minimal since you'll only be handling cargo. Will just be you and a co-pilot. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Lt. Klein> Sorry, Doctor. Don't want to make more work for you, but it looks like we're going to have to. ::He shoved the man back and pulled his phaser free, firing a stun burst at the man. Two other officers caught him as he dropped and lifted him, carrying him to the nearest empty bed. His wife and child were taken to another.:: Tandaris Admiran -> You _do_ know what fun is, right? Hunter Matheson -> ::nod:: Aye, ma'am. Maryse Dubois -> ::Sighs as she takes her tricorder and begins scanning the child.:: Rhan K'hal -> :: is able to move another ship up the queue as most of the smaller cargo bays are efficiently processing refugees through as they were designated for minor injuries :: Jas -> ::eyes the remaining refugee warily and backs away as his child is put up on the bed:: William Chocox -> Yes, I am aware of what fun is. Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> We'll be homebasing here, but your cargo pick ups will be on the station, then down to the surface to which ever camp or base they send you. Shouldn't be too harrowing, except for all the people parked out there, right? William Chocox -> It usually happens to other people, but I am peripherally aware of what it is. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Lt. Klein> ::Holsters his phaser and gives Jas a pat on the shoulder.:: Way to hold your own. Cptn Swain -> +Miranda+ Swain to Excalibur. Hunter Matheson -> No, ma'am. I've handled worse. It comes with the territory. Hunter Matheson -> We're talking cargo and ships in orbit. Piece o' cake. Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Grins:: I thought so, but better than being stuck on the bridge making minor course corrections. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> +Swain+ Hawthorne here. Go ahead. Hunter Matheson -> Yes, ma'am. ::broad grin:: Jas -> ::flinches at the touch before holstering his phaser with a quick shrug:: They're a bit easier to deal with than the Scorpiad. Cptn Swain -> +Miranda+ Status report? Hunter Matheson -> ::adrenaline rush kicks in:: Hunter Matheson -> Ship's loadmaster or one from the station? Tandaris Admiran -> ::Chocox:: Well, I like to challenge myself by building strange devices out of random and disjointed parts. For fun. Tandaris Admiran -> I only _sometimes_ then attach them to the ship. Or use them to destroy stars. Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> +Swain+ We are holding our own, Captain. Cargo bay is full of refugees that we're transporting in for medical aid and then sending on to the station or planet for relocation. Things are still a bit crowded up here. William Chocox -> Fine. ::blinks:: Excuse me sir? Tandaris Admiran -> Though to be fair I warned Corizon about that one. Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Exits the lift into the hanger deck, where things were decidedly more hectic than the bridge:: Station's. Hunter Matheson -> ::keeping pace, he slips out of the lift next to her:: William Chocox -> ::starts tinkering:: (m)Blowing up stars? Rhan K'hal -> +Jas+ Bridge to Cargo Bay 1. I have five urgent cases holding. Do you have room yet? Tandaris Admiran -> Plus, I need to make sure I still "have it." You know, now that I'm down all that Scorpiad knowledge. ::attaches capacitor to a solenoid:: Cptn Swain -> +Miranda+ Understood. I'm just about done here with Varen. For now we're going to continue to provide assistance here. But we should also begin to prepare ourselves if we need to take our refugee assistance show on the road. William Chocox -> Ok sir. William Chocox -> ::keeps tinkering:: Hunter Matheson -> ::he dodges personnel, loadmasters, moves around crates as they weave through:: Hunter Matheson -> ::then remembers to check the padd clipped to his belt, and it's all good:: Jas -> ::looks to Maryse:: We've got urgent cases incoming. Do you have room here to work on them? Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> +Swain+ Understood, sir. I think we're ready for whatever that's going to be thrown at us. Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> Which would you prefer, a Type 9 or an 11? I assume you're cert'd for either -- not like flying shuttles are that different these days. Maryse Dubois -> Yes as soon as you start moving those that have already been treated. Hunter Matheson -> Yes, ma'am. Full certification for small craft except fighters. They tend to draw the line there. So, whichever needs a pilot. Cptn Swain -> +Miranda+ Good. I'll stop back by in a little bit when this is over, before dinner with Arden. Jas -> +Rhan+ Cargo Bay 1 to Bridge, send them in. Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> ::Nods, grabs a PADD from a passing assistant, who went with the flow:: Rhan K'hal -> +Jas+ Acknowledged. Rhan K'hal -> :: contacts the main transporter room, clears them to beam them into the cargo bay :: Cptn Swain -> d'Aubigné> Looks like we can get you into a type 11 anytime. Pilot's lounge is down below, I'll have your nav meet you there. Rhan K'hal -> :: shimmery shimmer x 5 :: Hunter Matheson -> ::nod:: Yes, ma'am. ::moves away toward the pilot's lounge, checking the bay as he goes:: Cdr Miranda Hawthorne -> Lt. It caused a clog by the transporter, but freed up some beds.:: Rhan K'hal -> :: gets up again, beelines for the replicator and trades in his empty for a full :: Jas -> ::moves to the new arrivals, moving them along to beds that are just then being emptied:: William Chocox -> (m)This is utter madness. Hunter Matheson -> ::upon entering the lounge, he approaches the OIC and checks in with his creds:: Rhan K'hal -> :: plunks back down and tries to clear the backup :: Hunter Matheson -> ::the OIC wonders how a SWCC gets assigned to an Akira, but dismisses it and logs him in:: Cptn Swain -> PAUSE SIM Cptn Swain -> PAUSE SIM Cptn Swain -> PAUSE SIM
  23. SD 0927.2015 Nearly thirty-six hours have passed since we arrived to find a developing crisis at Camelot. Excalibur has moved into position and is serving as a sort of mobile check-station for refugees -- taking them in for medical care and registration before moving them to temporary shelter on either planet or back to their ships. The crew is also, as possible, being allowed to take some time to take leave on Camelot Station.
  24. SD 0920.2015 The Excalibur is finally on approach to Camelot Station after completing both her missions. We've picked up a higher amount than usual of local traffic, and more allied vessels on patrol in the area than would be normal.
