  1. We claim innocents since we made it before the treaty.
  2. WoW problems, who do you call? Yes, it is I, Andrew Lyon, A.K.A Packhunter. Best advise I offer when it comes to patchs is DO NOT USE THE AUTO DOWNLOADER. Check your presently version and bring it up to code slowly. BTW if you plan to raid get Vent.;-)
  3. I'd buy the Voyager model. JUST TO SLOWLY CRUSH IT UNDER A STEAM ROLLER!
  4. In January of this year, I was told my services were no longer needed as a game tester. Last week the following happend. I accepted a job with NCO Finical. Two days into the training. On the night of the second, I recieved an e-mail about a job I interviewed for 2 months ago. I called the guy up during my lunch break on the 3rd day of training with NCO. I am a GAME TESTER AGAIN! *Does funky dance* I told my boss after lunch to enjoy training the other people since I QUIT! Then I had an hour to get to my new job. WHICH I LOVE! Best part of this whole little story is, besides me being employed as a tester, is the look on my boss face when I told its over, I quit. My boss also protested my carrier change since according to her there is no future in gaming. To those fans of EA Games, all I can promise is I will do my best to insure the game is the highest quality possibility for a bug free enviroment.
  5. 1) Championships help. This will prove to any developer that you are a serious gamer. You have gone to prove you are the best and won. 2) Attention to detail. Find the bugs, and note them. Sometimes a bug is in just one build, but finding it could make or break a game. 3) Writting style. One of the key demands of the job is being able to tell the dev team they made a mistake, without insulting them. You have to be able to classifie the bug correctly, and how likely a user will hit it.
  6. Please firing squads are so out of date. I prefer to use the NUKE Squad. A small nukeal based weapon which is designed to kill one humanoid at a time. I admit its in the testing phases, but if you have to shoot multiple people, well you might be one of the ones to SURVIVE:-)
  7. As some of you might have noted I am simming again. This is in part since I feel like I am in sync with myself for the first time in ages, which means I can write and feel comfortable with the work. Now here comes the question. Where can I find some beta readers? Since I don't know if this will ever go to print, the GM might have a problem with some of the villians & heros/copy right. However, some of the characters I am playing with are Star Trek related, and I would like feed back from a trek community on how I play a well known Star Trek SGV.
  8. Fred, I have heard of tech like this before, and I always support it. Its nice to see man kind is able is able to create & improve instead of destroy.
  9. I do allot of reading and end up buying all my books since the local library does not stock English novels except for romances or donations. As a Sci-Fi & Fantasy buff you can guess who often I go there.:-P I now have 2 problems. 1) A pet rabbit who likes to eat books. 2) One book case, and 2 shelves (the shelves installed about a year ago) are full!! And more books are coming in. What do I do?
  10. Maybe I might pick it up, as per security officers... 10 years ago roughly a young Ensign Adam Lyne was assigned the USS Exodus. He would later be renamed (after a promotion or two) to Andrew "The Hunter" Lyon. Man where did the years go, and the fleet I faught to protect...
  11. I let the rabbit out for 4-16 hours a day. He sleeps in his cage, and I try to house break him. When he's out he has his gunie pig friend, thankfully no child can spawn from that relationship. I do have younger silbings who do borrow my books, along with my father.
  12. Bandit? Yumi-Yurki? Batman?
  13. Whiskers>On behave of Hamsters everywhere. I say buy a female hamster! Then I can do a bootay call, and I can make specail apperance on your ship. Who doesn't want Comrade Whiskers with the Vodka, CIA, FBI, KGB, and Nukes police to come to party on your ship? ;-)
  14. I admit it, I pre-ordered Star Trek: Missing in Action. I am wonderin who is waitting for this novel, and who thinks it will arrive on time? Which I can't seem to get down except for Feb 2006.
  15. As memory serves internal sensors were down, so they couldn't detect the borg.
  16. Question is would they consider a retired fossel like me who has found fun in other pastures...Not likely:-P
  17. Some of you no doubt do not believe in X-Mas miracles. Well, guess what, I have had a minor one. I have always had a hard time finding a full time job. I have been going to school just to show employers I am working on my skills. As of 2 hours ago, I end my acdemic carrier. I have been offered, and accepted, a fair paying full time job playing video games. I raise my hand to salute to salute the teachers that taught me well. I raise another hand to Nintendo who trained me. With a final bow, I turn to the sprit of the holidays and state that there are X-Mas miracls. Happy Holidays everyone, (And those of you who will play the games I test, I will do my best)
  18. Welcome to my refuge since the . . . incident.
  19. Test Number #1 " Captain James T. Kirk Captain James T. Kirk- You are the paradigm of the Starfleet Captain. You explore the universe. You save lives. What's a few small fractures of protocol when you've saved the galaxy more times than you can count. Hell, you even brought peace between the Federations and the Klingons.
  20. Computer Savant 17 % Nerd, 52% Geek, 56% Dork For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Geek and Dork, earning you the title of: Computer Savant. People confuse you with a Nerd all of the time. You aren't some genius, like some people have said, and didn't/don't really like school all that much (and you especially hated some of the social aspects, like getting mocked). It's just that you have some passions and interests that you're extremely into/good at, and this has placed you in circles with other social outcasts, some of whom are exceptionally bright. The awesome thing about being where you are is that you get to hang out with an elite group (though you'd probably rather be alone, or with only the closest friends and family) and you can make quite a good career for yourself in your particular specialities. Common to this group are people who are highly into electronics/computers as that is where the money lies, today. Congratulations!
  21. Welcome to retirement!
  22. Here is my list, take a look 1) MOVE OUT OF QUEBEC! 2) Buy 9 acres of land, my house takes the middle 3) Fill one room with 1 of each type of G1 Transformer 4) Hire personal trainer 5) Attend the local police Academy 6) Attend SWAT Academy 7) Attend Blacksmith School (Could be hard to find) 8) Earn BA in Military subject (I think tactics) 9) Build Bad ass computer at home, duel 4.8 Gig 64-Bit AMD's as the core CPUS 10) Save the rest, and work as a cop. 11) Wait, I want to buy the rights to Transformers from Hasbro so they do not mess it up anymore. Same goes for Star Trek. I will also make sure Voyager is not considered Cannon. While the Cartoon show and some books are.
  23. When are those child support bills coming in?
  24. I was working on a post for another thread in here, when after I saw it. I realized how off topic I had gone. However, I figured that it was good enough for its own thread. I have been a science-fiction fan since before I was potty trained. Some might consider Transformers childess Sci-Fiction, but unless you see a semi turn into a robot recently. I think thats science fiction. After a little experience IRL, I realized something. I think Star Trek needs a break. I will be watching this thread a bit, as I take my first vacation in nearly 3 years. Star Trek hit the air wave nearly 40 years ago. With the promise of Stange new worlds, and new civilizations. It delivered that, and more. As a fan of the show, I like the idea of some ship in Kirks era, or a second shot at the TOS with replacement actors. (Maybe a Guest spot by some of the original crew) Problem is the people who make Trek, Trek. The writters for that part. Are tried. I have written some massive logs in my day. (Over 100 pages for a 3 Part Story Arch) Some of these people have been working since the 80s on it. People wonder why the franchise has gone down hill. Think of some writter who has been pounding the keyboard for this franchise since Encounter at Farpoint, to the end of Enterprise. Remeber, the writters are the ones who have to make the show work. The people on top hand them the bible, and they run with it. This tried writters syndrom is not only connected to Trek. Anyone who looks at the box office, can see the drop off of people going to the movies. Thoses who do not see those figures, look at all the remakes, or the TV shows becoming movies. I think Trek as a franchise needs to shut down for 5-10 years. This way the writters can goto other shows, and learn, grow. I have posted this before, so I apologize for the repation. When the new show/movie (Yes my halting of production goes to movies also), consult with some of the better writters. Over the years the fans have made it clear with money, which authors they like for Star Trek. Bring in the good writters from the other shows also. (Mind you anyone who wrote on Voyager should not be called in) Yes, some new writters in the entertaintment industy at the time might not be invited. We will loose other writters to old age, or acts of god. However, when those people do meet, they will be able to produce something respectable. Something that maybe we will feel proud to call Trek again. Mind you, Enterprise was good I feel, but Paramount killed it due to business. As a fan of the show, I am wondering if you agree with the idea of a vacation for the trek franchise. Keep the books and other merchandise out there, but no new cannon materail for a few years.
  25. One of the things you could do with Star Trek TOS, is place the story in normal fiction, and it would work, for the most part. ((Some stories would not work in ficition at all, and I know that)) Which is why again, I say the writters need a break. Maybe send them on a $100K world vacation.
