  1. Not necessarily. In economics there is something known as the Laffer Curve (named by some guy named Laffer). The way the Laffer curve works is this: If the government has a 0% income tax rate the government will receive no revenue. If the government has a 100% income tax rate no one will choose to work since everything they earn will go to the government. Because no one works to pay taxes again the government receives no revenue. At some point between these extremes is a point where the government's revenue is maximized. That being the case if the tax rate is above this point then lowering the tax rate will result in more income to the government. (The opposite is true too. If you are below this point and raise the tax rate this will also result in more revenue to the government. For some reason this is never used as an argument to increase taxes but I don't know why.)
  2. Why is that outrageous? First of all, it is federal land. Second, you have to remember that civilians can relocate to different states with tax codes more to their liking. Those in the military don't have that option, they go where they are told to go.
  3. ::is listening to phish::
  4. Speaking or Brits, when does Prince Charles get to be Queen?

  9. Wel, the person who organized the dinner did dare me to do it.
  10. I think they "jumped the shark" in that scene where Pegasus rescues Galactica during the New Caprica rescue. It is still a very good show and worth watching but it is starting to decline.
  11. I think someone did this a couple years ago.
  12. OK, I have a funny story about baby back ribs. A couple weekends ago I was having dinner with some colleagues. One of them, because of my small frame, bet me that I couldn't eat a full plate of baby back ribs. Just to show him up I ordered an extra half rack and was still hungry. Note: If you are going to dinner with a bunch of people, be the guy who eats like a pig, not the guy who just gets a salad. When they divide the bill you end up getting most of your food paid for by everyone else. :)
  13. To be honest I thought the writers kinda lost it with that whole "All along the watchtower" theme for the end to season 3.
  14. Are we meant to understand any of all that?
  15. Sheesh, A9, put your shirt back on.
  16. Well what do you expect? It's Australia. I mean they can't even get the water in their toilets to spin the right way.
  17. Including the drinking game players?
  18. I can, but I would be banned from the forum for sure if I said what everyone is probably thinking anyway.
  19. 13) 1 shot each time Scotty takes a shot.

  21. $1.99 for a Sobe?
  22. Yeah, a coyote walked into a downtown Chicago Quiznos. What was funny about the story is a couple people in the Quiznos just went right on eating their chicken sandwiches.
