"Bchipoo, come hear what this chap has to say."
Did HoD Messner really just say that? And what is with those foam spikes?! And what is she wearing? And I can't believe TroNoQ gave me a pink lollipop... And speaking of pink... it's everywhere! I was hoping I had gone crazy, but... The horror is just too real.
Oh no! No no no! If I'm here... is there a pink version of me on the real Qob? But wait... No one's recogonized me here, so maybe there isn't a pink me. But shouldn't there be? Maybe he died in the past. But that would be bad for me? Wouldn't it? This is so confusing.
Oh my, would you look at her strutting over in those heels? And look at her beaming like that. Where's the scowl? Deep breaths, Riko, stay calm. Analyze this, you were going to be a scientist, remember? Something happened. You felt dizzy, then you were here. Kwalus... I can't believe that was Kwalus... said she was dizzy too, and so did TroNoQ. So there was an anomaly or something...
Okay, so am I in another universe, or has something happened to mine. Hmm... The first way, everything is still normal, I'm just in the wrong spot. The second way... Everything's wrong but me. Not a good thought, I like the first scenario better.
Okay, so... why am I here? The Prophets must have a reason to send me to this place... Wow, that looks fun. What am I saying? Stay on topic, Riko. You're in big trouble. You don't want to live in this Candyland forever, do you?
First thing's first... get these frilly versions of Messner and Bch to understand that something's happened. Then... I may have to put my science skills to work, I don't know if these people do anything but prance. Oh Prophets... I hope I can fulfill your task here, but I want to go home. And soon.

Rat: Okay, we'll get your head shampooed, then we'll go back over and I'll begin trimming, okay?
Dog: Woof.

Do we know if the game is compatible with Vista?I'm sure it will be, but will it be compatible with the new version of Windows that will be coming out by the time the game is released?

Hello and Welcome!
I'd strongly recommend reading this: Getting Started
You've already got your message board account, so you're good to get into the Academy. There's one tonight at 9. Either click here to get to the chat room, or click the "Live Chat" link above, and it will automatically take you to the chat room and log you in (so long as you are signed in to the forum).
Other good things to read include: Tips from the Moose, and of course The Rules :P Don't make that sound like homework you have to do before you jump in the first time, though! hehe But it is good to read them, they helped me a lot when I started, so I like to point them out. Don't feel like you have be perfect your first time, either. Come in, have fun!
Don't forget about the Red Star Nightclub on Saturday nights!

Another year gone by, another landmark. On September 8, 1966, The Man Trap aired on NBC. And how grateful and happy we are for that!
Startrek.com has a good article about it:
Star Trek at 40: September 8, 1966:: pops the champagne ::
-
:: Obi-Wan voice :: "Patience Luke... erm, Mich"
:P
I know, it's not impatience, it's just eagerness. All of use here, I'm sure, have experienced that at LEAST once. I know I did. :D And there's no harm in asking questions.
Good luck wherever you end up!

Cinderella's idea of a practical joke.

That's a lesson I learned the hard way.

While I love the concept behind Trillian, I've found it to be somewhat lacking in both functionality and dependency. So, I use whichever program I need depending on who I'm talking to, which means a lot of wasted MB on the hard drive and stolen RAM. :: shrugs :: Part of the modern age, though.

Welcome, and here we go...
Getting started is just that, how to get started. Moose's Tip's are not only helpful, but entertaining. The rules aren't hard to follow, and I always recommend reading them before getting started. And the policy example this time around is from the U.S.S. Excalibur sim. Each advanced sim will have it's own policies, with some differences here and there, but it's good to know what will be expected from you later on, so that you can decide now whether or not that's what you're looking for. ;)
After all that though, remember the big thing. Have fun! Welcome, and look forward to seeing you around.

I'll be nice and simply say "Happy Birthday."
Why not say more? Fear, of course. ;)
-
Obviously I haven't been here long, but as an American with a flexible at home work schedule, I'd definitely be able to attend a European time-slot sim, and am willing to help out if anything comes from this discussion. I think it's great that at least there's a dialogue about this, whatever (if anything) happens.

Was there a winner? Did I miss it?I haven't seen one.

My favorite comes from In the Beginning:
"I'm not saying anything. I didn't say anything then, and I'm not saying anything now."Dukhat/Delenn -
Happy birthday! With three minutes to spare in the East. :D

As usual, when there isn't anything exciting going on in a scientific discipline, they have to bicker over semantics. It's one of the unfortunate sides to science, but seemingly inevitable with human beings being what they are. Whichever way it goes, it's not really important one way or the other so long as we point them out and say that they exist, not what they are.
-
Ah, as I've probably mentioned before, I love the Akira class. :D So that'd be the ship. I'd try to concentrate on the Ideal: explore strange new worlds, meet new life and new civilizations, and all that. Sometimes I think sims end up being a little too battle-happy.

What are you talking about? I did NOT say that my plane had retractable wings!

Your homework assignments are due by the end of the week! You can turn it in to either Aaron or myself. B) J/K They're great resources, and you should check them out when you can. That little bit of reading can help you out a whole bunch, and make your life easier and the Academies you attend more fun.

Besides the Academies, where you can attend any time without having to make a commitment, you can also come into any of the Advanced sims and watch to get a feel for how they operate (quietly, no posting to the room during the sim!). That will also make your decision as to which Advanced Sim you wish to join easier for that happy time when you graduate. Also, you can drop into the Redstar Nightclub on Saturday nights at 10 PM ET (3 AM GMT). Here there is IC (In-Character) Chat set in a Quark's Bar type atmosphere.

Look forward to seeing you around!
