  1. I'm sure it will be, but will it be compatible with the new version of Windows that will be coming out by the time the game is released?
  2. Hello and Welcome! I'd strongly recommend reading this: Getting Started You've already got your message board account, so you're good to get into the Academy. There's one tonight at 9. Either click here to get to the chat room, or click the "Live Chat" link above, and it will automatically take you to the chat room and log you in (so long as you are signed in to the forum). Other good things to read include: Tips from the Moose, and of course The Rules :P Don't make that sound like homework you have to do before you jump in the first time, though! hehe But it is good to read them, they helped me a lot when I started, so I like to point them out. Don't feel like you have be perfect your first time, either. Come in, have fun! Don't forget about the Red Star Nightclub on Saturday nights!
  3. Another year gone by, another landmark. On September 8, 1966, The Man Trap aired on NBC. And how grateful and happy we are for that! Startrek.com has a good article about it: Star Trek at 40: September 8, 1966 :: pops the champagne ::
  4. :: Obi-Wan voice :: "Patience Luke... erm, Mich" :P I know, it's not impatience, it's just eagerness. All of use here, I'm sure, have experienced that at LEAST once. I know I did. :D And there's no harm in asking questions. Good luck wherever you end up!
  5. Cinderella's idea of a practical joke.
  6. That's a lesson I learned the hard way.
  7. While I love the concept behind Trillian, I've found it to be somewhat lacking in both functionality and dependency. So, I use whichever program I need depending on who I'm talking to, which means a lot of wasted MB on the hard drive and stolen RAM. :: shrugs :: Part of the modern age, though.
  8. Welcome, and here we go... Getting Started Moose's Tips The Rules Policy Example Getting started is just that, how to get started. Moose's Tip's are not only helpful, but entertaining. The rules aren't hard to follow, and I always recommend reading them before getting started. And the policy example this time around is from the U.S.S. Excalibur sim. Each advanced sim will have it's own policies, with some differences here and there, but it's good to know what will be expected from you later on, so that you can decide now whether or not that's what you're looking for. ;) After all that though, remember the big thing. Have fun! Welcome, and look forward to seeing you around.
  9. I'll be nice and simply say "Happy Birthday." Why not say more? Fear, of course. ;)
  10. Obviously I haven't been here long, but as an American with a flexible at home work schedule, I'd definitely be able to attend a European time-slot sim, and am willing to help out if anything comes from this discussion. I think it's great that at least there's a dialogue about this, whatever (if anything) happens.
  11. Sendai Riko: Bajoran; Dr. Taurek: Vulcan; Arennhe tr'Khev: Romulan; Pointy ears win 2 out 3! ;)
  12. ADVERTISEMENT: "We know we've recieved some bad press here on the Planet of the Apes, but come on, would you just LOOK at these faces! Come, visit us for your honeymoon, your spring break! We'll make you feel welcome. Get a free grooming after landing at the spaceport!" Free grooming subject to availablity.
  13. I haven't seen one.
  14. My favorite comes from In the Beginning: "I'm not saying anything. I didn't say anything then, and I'm not saying anything now." Dukhat/Delenn
  15. Happy birthday! With three minutes to spare in the East. :D
  16. As usual, when there isn't anything exciting going on in a scientific discipline, they have to bicker over semantics. It's one of the unfortunate sides to science, but seemingly inevitable with human beings being what they are. Whichever way it goes, it's not really important one way or the other so long as we point them out and say that they exist, not what they are.
  17. Ah, as I've probably mentioned before, I love the Akira class. :D So that'd be the ship. I'd try to concentrate on the Ideal: explore strange new worlds, meet new life and new civilizations, and all that. Sometimes I think sims end up being a little too battle-happy.
  18. What are you talking about? I did NOT say that my plane had retractable wings!
  19. Okay, I did a pretty thorough search and haven't found a poll quite like this, it's usually a discussion about the Enterprises. So, let's throw the Enterprises completely out the window for this poll. Out of the Federation Starship Classes listed above (I tried to be thorough!), which is your favorite, and why does it tug at you? I love the Akira, myself. The look is amazing, and it's a mean ship without being a behemoth like the Galaxy or Sovereign classes.
  20. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :: runs away screaming with the men in white coats following ::
  21. "That's it! Who glued bananas to my head AGAIN!?!?"
  22. Thanks everyone, I had a great day. :)
  23. Thanks Dielle! :)
  24. Ah, romance! Congratulations!
  25. Welcome! Look forward to seeing you.
