  4. Telepathic Overload Mona sat in her office staring at the small plant on her desk thinking. She had not liked the turn of events that had take place in the ready room. Whether the rest of the command staff realized it or not they were questioning her loyalties. The ship and its crew where her first priority and that would never change. She had tried to talk to Col Harper about it but all that was addressed was that they were questioning her long exposure to the telepathic being. Mona sighed as she continued to stare at the plant; “I am trained for long exposure to telepaths for gods sakes I spent most of my childhood in a hospital full of them.” She could understand the Col fears but when it came right down to it Mona felt they were unwarranted. She began to think of the past. “My Darling you need to wake up” a voice echoed through the silent hall of the hospital. Mona opened her eyes and looked around. She stared at the women who called herself Minerva. “What is going on am I gonna have to do another test?” Mona said sleepily. The older women gave a gentle smile and nodded. “Yes the doctors have implanted a small device into your brain to help stimulate different areas that will help you remember and get better. I am going to be here to work with you, ok. Do you understand?” Mona smiled as she tried to comprehend what the older woman had said to her. It had only been recently she had come out of the coma and was still having problems remembering and functioning normally. The doctors had decided that they would use the recovery capabilities of her paracortex to help the rest of her mind. Minerva smiles and said, “Close your eyes and try to focus on me. I am going to help you search your mind to slowly see if we can find any memories, alright?” Mona nodded and closed her eyes. As she tried to regulate her breathing and focus she began to hear her grandmothers voice in her head. “Can you hear me my darling?” Mona tried to answer in her mind but could not manage. She heard the calm voice again “It is alright. Let us try and see if we can find any memories.” Mona felt an odd sensation as Minerva tried to sort through a jumbled mind. Suddenly the young girl screamed as a wave of thoughts and emotions came pouring into her mind. Mona fell on the ground crying, “Make it stop!” Minerva looked frantically at a nearby doctor. He began to look over the scans trying to find something and suddenly he looked up “I think the chip is overloading” The older women gathered Mona up in her arms and began to stoke her forehead, “well you need to make is stop doctor” The young doctor continued to work trying to counteract the effects of the chip. Min closed her eyes and tried to find her young granddaughter, she reached out and tried to put up mental shields around the frightened girls mind. “I am here we will work this out together. Be strong my darling.” Mona rubbed her forehead remembering the day that silly little chip had forever been seared into her brain. At that point her mind had been like a spaceport receiving any mental thought from anyone within miles of her. She smirked “If I can handle mental overload from and entire hospital I think I can handle being exposed to 1 energy being for a while.” She thought of the Col again and began to laugh to herself. Looking at the plant again she gave it another spray of the water she said, “Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations. Those marine are always suspicious, so I suppose it’s not just me.” Dr Desdemona Levy Chief Medical Officer, U.S.S Agincourt

Understanding Klingon My brother found a "conversational Klingon" tape at a yard sale and bought it for me. So Yes I have listened to it in my car a number of times and understand it a bit 31. The UPS guy hands you his electronic clipboard and you're tempted to call him the "Captain's Yeoman" as you sign it. Hehehe, I say that to the UPS guy all the time, I had to explain it in the begining but now it is our joke. Needless to say the office depot man doesn't find it as funny 34. You start practicing raising one eyebrow in front of a mirror. Once again the actor thing, I tell myself it is just research 47. Your wardrobe consists of a lot of black slacks with interchangeable gold, red and blue tops. Oh gods, I wore black pants and a red shirt today and yes I did the shirt tug a few times. 6. We sure are gonna miss all the snarky comments.
  7. “All in a Days Work” Mona stood on the bridge wrapped in the energy of their new guest. She had been trying to communicate that by it draining the ships power it was hurting the crew. She looked around her and thought, “Obviously I didn’t quiet make myself clear.” She was starting to get slightly frustrated. Everyone on the bridge kept telling her if the being drained any more power they would have to take drastic action. It didn’t take a warp drive specialist to know that. She knew her first duty was to the ship and its crew. She was a doctor after all; it was part of the job. She shook her head and wondered if anyone on the bridge realized what it was like to try and communicate with this thing. When they tried to dock the ship and the being had been overwhelmed so had she. Not only was her head still sore from the mental impact but also her body ached because she had stumbled back into a bulkhead when it happened. Trying to contain some of her emotions so that the energy being didn’t sense it she stared at Jamie. What did he think she was? It wasn’t as easy as it seemed. What most people always forgot about Mona was the fact that she was only half Betazoid. Because of the accident when she was a child she had spent a lot more time than most honing her skills. Years of painstaking work, hours spent with doctors and hundreds of experiments had gotten her to where she was today. Even tho her skills were strong she wasn’t an expert on contact with new life forms. This was out of her area of expertise and she didn’t like the feeling. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, quickly trying to regroup. She remembered her grandmother had once told her “You can do anything you want with grace and dignity as long as you don’t ever give up.” She opened her eyes, looked at Jamie and smiled sweetly all the while thinking, “I will not sacrifice this ship nor will I sacrifice the innocent life form. There will be a compromise or I will die trying to find one. Dr Desdemona Levy Chief Medical Officer, U.S.S Agincourt
  8. Ok so I am late posting this but....Oh I do love talk like a pirate day. I went into working wearing a scarf and one earing and then I talked like I pirate all day. I think my coworkers officially think I might be crazy now. But in the end what would life be without a crazy coworker. And heck it was an excuse to call my boss a bilgerat and reference booty.
  9. I was gonna vote for myself just to throw off the numbers. But then I realised they talked about me in the log so it wouldn't make sense. Oh well I guess I'm not an evil mastermind like Harper ::sighs::
  10. Oh this is fun. Looks like NDak is winning. Are you gonna eventually tell us who it is Harper?
  11. “The Doctor is Out” Mona stormed down the hall of the Agincourt. She brushed past a handful of crewmen who seemed somewhat nervous as they watched the CMO. She didn’t bother to acknowledge their agitation for she had other issues on her mind. By the time she reached her quarters her anger had not subsided. She entered her room and kicked a nearby chair over. “Oh the nerve” she yelled. She had gone to the bridge to talk with JoNs and while there she had her first introduction to the new captain. She had been interested to see what kind of man he would be and if there would be any benefit to getting to know him any better. He on the other hand did not seem interesting in finding out who his CMO was. She had introduced herself and had been completely ignored. “My dear Captain you might have just made a horrible mistake.” she thought. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “Calm down Mona, don’t be so rash” she reassured herself. Then she started to think about the incident in the TL after and her irritation began to grow again. “How dare she question me.” Mona began to pace the floor in her room. She had offered JoNs a great opportunity and the silly Catain had the nerve to second-guess her plan. She would have to be dealt with as well. Mona stopped pacing suddenly. “I wonder if there is a way to do some damage control and either kill two birds with one stone or move up in the world. It wouldn’t be as messy that’s for sure” She sat down on a nearby chair and began to laugh to herself. Dr Desdemona Levy Chief Medical Officer ISS Agincourt

Being the lone girl among 4 children she was exposed to sports and rough games at an early age. She excelled in everything she tried but soon found that she was more interested in her injured teammates. After being sidelined by a serious injury* (see side note) her parents decided to move her to Betazed with her grandmother, Minerva for better treatment. There she spent much of her time in and out of hospitals trying to recover memories of her past. As a result she developed many telepathic abilities she never thought possible.**(see side note) At 18 she decided she wanted to join Starfleet as a doctor and was accepted a year later. There she studied medicine and excelled in botany.***(see side note) She graduated four years later and was assigned to shore duty on various planets before being stationed to the medical supply ship the I.S.S. Quiroz.****(see side note) She stayed there for five years till she was reassigned to the Agincourt. Hobbies/Interests Mona (as she is called) enjoys many kinds of sports as a result of her early exposure. In her spare time she is somewhat of an amateur botanist and constantly has some experiment she is working on. She is fluent in 6 languages and on many occasions has used them to her advantage. Psychological Profile Desdemona is very protective of her friends as well as the crew she serves with. She tends to exude an air of confidence and has a knack for making her patients feel at ease. This however can be deceiving a professor of her was once reported to say “She can make you fall in love with her so much that you can’t feel the blade she stabs into your chest.” Side Notes * Her injury was sustained in a motorbike accident caused by her brother. When he died 2 years later the medical reports indicated that he had ingested some form a poison. No one was every convicted and it was ruled to be self inflicted. For a brief period Desdemona was the main suspect. **While she was at the hospital there was a small riot of patients who complained about their treatment. The proceeded to hold the hospital and its staff hostage for 6 hours. Mona was among them. Although she was never pinpointed as the leader security apprehended her and detained her for some time. She pleaded she could not remember who she was and had been brainwashed by other patients in her fragile state. She was let off with a mild warning. ***Desdemona brought up allegations that her Botany professor had made unwarranted advances towards her. An investigation was conducted but nothing substantial turned up. During her final year at the academy the same professor died. The medical report said that he had come into contact with a poisonous plant in his lab. Desdemona was questioned but no evidence turned up to link her with the death. ****Aboard the ISS Quiroz Desdemona simultaneously began a relationship with the Alando Soric the CENG, Xander Malik the CMO and Holten Wopat an ASEC. When the three men found out about each other they entered into a fight. Soric died, Malik was severely injured and unable to continue in Starfleet and Wopat resumed his duties but according to the crew was never the same. The only witness to the brawl was Desdemona. She claims the men began the brawl on their own accord although she tried to stop them. She was never implicated in any way. Traces of poison were found in Soric as well as Malik, but were never traced to the cause of their injuries.
