USS Republic Mission Briefing 51302.18 - Season 21 The USS Republic crew has had a chance to unwind and Captain Kwai granted permission for festivities to celebrate not only the new year, but the crews excellent work in preventing a terrible tragedy on Risa. The crew has been notified that they have until the end of the current shift to report in to their section heads, and Kwai will be getting the ship underway with new orders. The Admiral will be rejoining the ship shortly, as she is off attending a briefing with Admiral Calvert.

USS Republic Mission Briefing 51302.04 Having received the Risan authorities aboard the Republic, and letting them question the crew as to what had occurred on the planet below, the crew awaits a final reply from Risa with regards to the incident. Will they recommend charges against the crew for illegally being on planet and endangering their citizens and guests, or will they call for commendations and thanks for a job well done?

USS Republic Mission Briefing 51301.28 - Season 21 The Admiral has returned to the Republic along with a delegation of Risan officials who are demanding answers, and want to verify information given to them by the admiral, by independently verifying other crew members versions of the facts. Senior officers and any of their subordinates which had been involved have been ordered to the large conference room.
  4. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51301.21 Aftermath...... As it was getting to be later in the evening, messages were going out to the various planetary and government representatives on Risa, but fortunately as the explosion took place in space rather than on the planet, those that might have still been awake and outside at the time, and happened to have been looking up, might have seen a swift, bright flash, and put it off to no more than a shooting star. However, the truth was being spread to the powers that be and they wanted answers. Fortunately, most of the crew had already made it back to the Republic, and those that hadn't yet, had received a call to stand by for transport until the details of what had just happened, could be worked out.
  5. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51301.14 A major commotion has been taking place first in the gardens and light show of the Mythical Pleasure Dome and Resort, but now it has moved inside. Security is moving towards those running through the casino thinking a robbery must be occurring. The Orion and Andorian have been dealt with, several of the thugs are still in pursuit, however most of those at the auction have now taken off. Trepp and Smith are nowhere to be seen, after Smith initially gave chase. Jax still has the box, but Blu had dispatched Heather to go catch up to her and get her and that box to the ship they have waiting on the west bank of the resort, unfortunately some of the Orion’s thugs have interfered with Ayumu, Heather and Christina.
  6. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51301.07 Hot Potato!! Bomb, bomb, who’s got the bomb? Do they even have a clue as to what they’re all trying to make a dash and grab. Some know it’s a weapon, some know it’s something bad that they need risk their cover to get, but all seem to realize, that something wrong is happening here in the Mythical Pleasure Dome and Resort.
  7. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51212.17 By now, the crew are realizing that these are real weapons, and that this does not seem to be a simulated run anymore. There are too many civilians that could be placed in danger, and the teams should try to unite and discuss what type of plan they should follow to try to get this under control. Call the planetary authorities? Is there time to do so? Can they take over the situation themselves, and how many of these others are here, that could turn this resort into a major war zone.
  8. USS Republic Mission Briefing Season 21 - 512.12.10 The high stakes, invitation only auction has begun bidding in the small gardens behind the southwest corner of the resort. Currently a laser light show is underway, which some hope, the show will hide the fact that they are demonstrating weapons and hide the flashes of light and noise into the sounds of the show. the remaining few away teams, having received messages to attend an auction that day, and purchase an item and return to the bar with it later that evening, our shipmates have been busy, and yet, maintaining themselves as something they are not, have totally fooled the auction sellers, that they are smugglers or weapons traders here to take part in the sale, as they totally do not look like tourists. Too rigid, but no seeming discipline, which would give them away as law enforcement or fleet or whatever......

USS Republic Mission Briefing Season 21 - 512.12.03 Messages have been sent to the groups on the planet to have them each attend an auction and purchase a certain object which will lead them to their next clue. Several different auctions have been found and some of those on planet have been buying alot of different objects. However, a more serious auction has been noted to a few specific groups based upon their actions and movements, as it’s been assumed, that they are the ones that have been secretly ‘invited’. After a priority one message from Admiral Calvert, Blu has deemed it necessary to grab a few of the ‘green recruits’ (literally green), and head towards Risa herself, also undercover to follow up on new mission orders that are of the utmost importance.

USS Republic Mission Briefing Season 21 - 51211.26 The crew have been trying to enjoy their time while maintaining their covert status, but don’t seem to be able to relax, just waiting for that next mission parameter to fall. Each room’s computer system shows that each group has received a communications, and the message light is blinking. Meanwhile, Blu has become a bit agitated and has called for Heather and Christina to meet her in her ready room shortly. Meanwhile, the weapons auction continue while Trepp debates how best to deal with it, and obtain the information he was sent here to find out.
  11. N'thrak paced the bridge of his ship, seething with anger that once again, that damned Yridian was not where he was supposed to be. He was to have met him here in orbit 4 hours ago, but he was nowhere to be seen. No doubt, he had already decided to go below to the sinful planet, and was either already up to his eyebrows in drink or had himself buried off in some brothel. The man spent way too much time visiting those as it were, it would only be a matter of time before he offended some wench and had himself run through with a fillet knife. His brother's ship had already taken their share of the Defloxo and weapons and had headed back towards home, however the rest of this mission had been a total cluster....or rather a total mess. As it were, they were already 3 weeks late making this delivery, as they'd encountered resistance and more patrols around Dumok'azen then they'd ever run into before. They had heard that some moronic Starfleet captain had hijacked his own ship and had went to attack Romulan space, somehow having picked up the rumor about the trade he and his partners had joined in with several Romulans to move these weapons. No, not only had this ship went into Romulan space, but then another fleet ship had to go get him, why the Romulan's just didn't blast them both was anyone's guess. As it were, the Romulans have their own problems now after that. The Dumok'azen cooridor was virtually closed to them now, some fool had kidnapped the military leaders woman, and now that entire area of space was up for grabs and fighting sure to soon break out. It would only be a matter of time before they moved the operation yet again. He continued to pace, knowing it would do na good, nor did the pacing lessen his anger. How was a smuggler supposed to make an honest day's work, when he had nothing better to do than to sit around waiting to see if the other would eventually show up, and take the cargo down to the planet. He allowed himself a brief grin, thinking of the irony of what he had just thought...."Honest," ::as he let out an angry scoff. "If he's not here soon, I'll just have my men deliver it to Stankwick's people, I know he said he'd have a few, some Orion women, and a few couples, though they might be more difficult to contact those, and get the packages delivered. Of course, he also would demand his payment before he totally let go of the 'inventory'.

The Republic while celebrating their 21st Anniversary Sim, would like to extend an invitation to those of you that would like to join us simming this evening, as extra cast members in our game. Currently the crew is on Risa, though in disguise, and trying to blend in with the other guests.   13. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51211.19 - HAPPY 21st to the Republic! Where else would the crew be when we turned 21?! Risa of course! How could we not be!. Most of the senior staff are on Risa under the pretext of a covert training mission, where they are to maintain their cover, not expose themselves to being exposed for whom they are, and wait for their next clue as to what to do. Meanwhile, there seems to be a bit of a dark element slipping into the very resort where they are staying, which only promises to create havoc unlike any we’ve hit before. Not only are the Republic crew on Risa, but several other Fleet intelligence officers, both official and nonofficial.

We are officially one of the longest continually running online text-based Star Trek Role Playing Sims out there, playing online each week (with the rare holiday off occasionally), since 1991. We invite you all to come join us for a special celebration on Monday, November 19th at 11pm EST, in the sim room Republic , to help us celebrate this special day. And by celebrate.....we just happen to be on Risa. Granted, some of the crew are undercover, so are posing as ‘other’ than USS Republic crewmembers, so you wouldn’t know them as such, but again...it’s Risa. If you’d like to join us for an evening on Risa at the Mythical Pleasure Dome and Resort Bar...just stop by and we’ll pass you a drink or a bowl of popcorn. You are welcome to play other guests, resort staff, or possibly get caught up in the ‘intrigue’ that has brought our crew here in disguise! Now a bit of history. Yes, some of you have seen it before, it's the boring part, but we’re posting it again so we don’t lose it. Such as the gif of the original ships’ plaque passed to me by Admiral Morgyn, which is on a floppy disk, in a box buried somewhere in my basement. The USS Republic Sim began in November 1991 on a small university server, under the command of Captain Kruge. The ship them moved through a short interlude with Netscape and then shortly after that, the ship was moved over to play on the America Online service, where it played under the auspices of StarFleet Online, later renamed Spacefleet Online due to various legal issues that arose. Bouncing around the AOL forums with our hosts having to sport many different titles over the years, and I know many of our past and present crew members wore many of these names. You often saw us with the prefix of OGF, Host OGF, Host PCG, Host Games, Guide, Hometown and many more, but through it all, we remained the same players with the same surnames. Following in the footsteps of Captain Kruge, 'The Republic' has also been commanded by Captain Kraf, Admiral Erinna Morgyn, Captain Fish Vir, Captain Jael, Captain Kilgore, Vice-Admiral Ender Wiggins and Rear Admiral Errrika BluRox. In 2002, the USS Republic-D, a Galaxy-class ship serving as a flag vessel for Rear Admiral Errrika BluRox and Commander Kania Kawalas, moved to the Star Trek Simulation Forum. The Republic, part of the founding of STSF, had to delay making the physical initial jump to STSF from SFOL, due to room limitations as we shared a time slot with the USS Manticore, commanded by our current Fleet Admiral Atragon, (he’s so handsome, how could we defer to him!?), but at the time, we only had the one chat room, so many of the crew would participate in the new STSF Monday Academy (run by BluRox and Kbear) as a warmup to the Republic sim, then pop back over to our old room to play. Once a second room was built, (many thanks to our ever amazing Webmaster for ‘making it so’) the move was completed, and our voyages continue here to this day. We love ya Webbie, thanks again! Most recently, we moved onto the new USS Republic NCC-1371-E, a nice newly modified Sovereign-class vessel, with the crew all having a hand in the unique naming of our shuttles, and yes, we do have a pink glittery one reserved for our chief of security, but only because we picked the ship up early before they could redo it’s paint job, a standing joke while at the Utopia Planatia Shipyards. Currently under the joint command of Rear Admiral Errrika BluRox and Captain Rian Kwai, we continue forward, having put two decades of history behind us and continuing on in our third decade of simming together. Many of our crew have been steady players on the ship for over 15 years themselves! The scarier part is, some of us have been here almost as long as the ship. To our current crew and the many, many others that have served aboard the Republic over the years, have joined us in one of the many joint sim plots that have run with the other fine ships in the forum, have played that ever so special “Special Guest Villian/Visitor/Victim”; your continued dedication to the ship and our simming community as a whole, is what has made it what it is, and your perseverance is what still keeps us going to this day. Just wait until we hit 30! You guys are the best and we thank each and every one of you. We could not have done this.without You!
  15. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51211.12 Most of the senior staff and a few of their assistants are currently embedded on Risa, awaiting the next portion of their covert mission. Trying to avoid detection, they are now trying to maintain their covers as vacationing family, friends and or lovers. Someone however, has taken a slight interest in one of the group’s he noticed....Their main mission now.....to try and act normal, do not draw attention to themselves, do what those on vacation......do! Meanwhile, back on the ship, the brig (barely a year old at this point), is getting a fresh coat of paint, courtesy of Heather...
  16. Pending the availability of power, the Republic still plans on running. If I happen to lose power between now and the sim, and it's flickered a few times now, but the good news is that our XO lives elsewhere! And honestly, most of you are hosts anyway, you all can run it in a pinch! I know some of you on the crew are also deep in the storm, one I believe was in an evacuation zone as well, so everyone please be safe and we'll see you if you can. - BluRox
  17. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51210.29 All three teams have arrived on Risa and are currently trying to determine what to do once they arrive at the Mythical Pleasure Dome. It may be fairly simple for some and rather difficult for others that may have been previously placed upon the planetary watch list. Though the planet does not heavily enforce emigration oversight, security scanners do pick up on know previously troublemakers. So without blowing their cover, can the crew figure out the next task? Or will they be detained by unhappy planetary security officers?

However just for warning, have had power flicker a few times, so if you don't see me, have Rian call me to see if we're out or not. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51210.22 All three teams have now unearthed their clues, and have found the statues of 3 Mythical creatures, all also the names of ships aboard the Republic; and after trying different combinations of the different type ships numbers, the teams finally were able to determine the coordinates for their next destination. Risa!! Additionally, each group found a box with a scrap of paper, a number on one side, and a question on the other side; “What do these things have in common?” Now, they must determine how to get there without blowing their cover. Fairly simple for some, rather difficult for others that may have been previously placed upon the planetary watch list. Though the planet does not heavily enforce emigration of those visiting, security scanners do exist to pick up on know persons that have created issues in the past. These systems had to be put into place after unruly ship’s crews, past attempts to sabotage the weather stations, the Tox Uhtat fiasco, and extensive damage from an attack from the Borg before they were repelled from the system. Now, they must get there, and determine what they are to do next.
  20. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51210.15 Two of the teams have recovered their clues and have partially worked through what they should do next. Having broken the statues and finding the model shuttles, has given them the clues as to where they should go next. Now, they have to figure out where on Risa they should go, and why. Additionally, how to get there without blowing their cover. This should be simple for some of them, however, the Robinson’s are on the planetary watch list, and will have to somehow get past the customs scanners. Ayumu in the meanwhile, has just unearthed his clues, and has to figure out what they mean, while hoping to still meet back up with Christina, who has apparently went to ground to hide til things cool down. Meanwhile, the Republic is on it’s way to Minos Korva, to pick up Heather, as she’s failed the test.

USS Republic Mission Briefing 51210.08 Reports from advanced operatives on Minos Korva have relayed to the Republic that two of the teams (Team Robinson) and (Team Bardolph) have arrived in the town of Smelter and have made their way towards the quarry that was noted in the clue that they had obtained. Ayumu in the meanwhile, had decided to try to press on by himself, and hopefully can meet back up with Christina, who has apparently went to ground to hide til things cool down. Having received word that one of the team members (Heather),had been detained, the command staff have sent word to hold her until she could be transferred back to their location.

USS Republic Mission Briefing 51210.01 Still on Minos Korva, two of the Republic’s covert teams have found their maps which had been hidden in the cloth merchant’s booth by following their team specific clues to the correct color and pattern of material. Having obtained their maps they have managed to get transportation to the small town indicated on their maps, and to find the next location that is marked on the map for them to interact with. The third team however, has hit a bit of a snag. After their escapades as wild Orion women behaving shamefully with a bunch of Ferengi. Heather has managed to get herself arrested for disturbing the peace in the market. Civil authorities as well as members of the Star Fleet security base there are on the lookout for the other 2 green women that had been reported. Christina has gone into hiding, leaving Ayumu to fend for herself.
  23. USS Republic Mission Briefing 51209.24 The three covert mission teams from the Republic have all made their way to Minos Korva. Two teams have found their next mission instructions, while the third team has just made planetfall. Teams will follow these instructions to learn what their next step should be, and where to head for the next part/challenge to the mission.

As they make their way and locate the next clue they will be given directions as to where to head for the next part/challenge to the mission.
