  1. Hmm. Without giving it much thought (remembering every actor I've seen), I'd WANT to be played by Russell Crowe. A great actor and his character in "Gladiator" was, basically, me. But a movie about Trek role playing would probably be independently produced, and very low-budget, so I probably WOULD be played by... Vex Xiang.
  2. Hmm, let's see... I can spare 37 cents. I'd host a daytime sim if I could. The community seems to be gaining a strong international following (hey, it's Trek) and it's a shame we can't do anything to accommodate some of it. :D But as Huff says, we'll get new GMs who will be able to blow up ships and kill cadets during the early US hours.
  3. Oooh, are we being surveyed? Let's see... after you read the "how to sim" documents for information, go over to the STSF Academy board and read the Tips from the Moose for insight. Then take part in the Academies for experience, and visit the Advanced sims to observe some learned simmers in action. I'm on 2 advanced sims right now (yes, you can join more than one) , so that's 2 hours a week just simming. I was once on as many as 5 sims and was just barely able to handle the stress of keeping up with all of them. :D Of course, that doesn't count activities between sims... writing logs, participating in community events, dropping in on Academies to help cadets, etc.. Some people devote an hour each week, just taking part in their sim. It depends on how much of yourself you're willing and able to put into the community. No matter how much time you spend on the game, though, you'll have a lot of fun. If I wasn't enjoying myself here, I wouldn't be here. Hope to see you in the Holodeck soon, T'ana.
  4. Ugh, such blatant advertising. And Star Trek show... Babylon 5?!?! INCONCEIVABLE! (I voted for it anyway... please don't kill me) Anyway. Lieutenant, Level 27.
  5. Ah, thank you for your golden insight, Moose. Moose knows simming...
  6. Oh dear, not another newsletter. Say, this one's actually good! :) Way to go, fish!
  7. Also, check out the "Tips from the Moose" threads on this board--valuable information from an excellent source. Collect those tips, study them, view them at future dates, consider them sacred and you will graduate in no time at all. But above all, be patient, and have fun. Your Academy tenure should be considered a fun learning experience, not just an obstacle that needs to be quickly hurtled. If you become too focused on the actual graduation, you may find yourself distracted from the requirements, and your performance will drop.
  8. You're thinking of New Year's Eve, Captain.
  9. I've always been uncomfortable with the idea of there being no need for money in the future. Rather uncomfortable with the whole notion of the replicators, for that matter. In my simming, I always rely on the B5 system in this sort of situation... I use a credit chit. That's one of my golden rules. If Star Trek's idea doesn't work for you... Babylon 5's the answer.
  10. Ah! Well, next time I'll hit the hard drive, then! Not sure about kicking though. Mine is raised on a desk... I would need some karate lessons for an effective kick.
  11. Ranger?? What in tarnation is that? One of them AOL sims, I reckon...
  12. I'm happy to say it does. Makes life easier for us slow computer folk. Don't have to keep hitting the side of the monitor. As for the ghosts. I remember one chap by the name of DrJoeManning, haunted the room for weeks some time back. Took me that long to figure out he wasn't real... I kept trying to strike up conversations with him, obviously to no avail. I say, as long as they don't interrupt the chat, they're ok by me.
  13. Oh, mine has to be... "Evil Bajoran" Hello all!
