  1. Not sure if any fighter uniforms have been described before but here are some ideas I had. Just some suggestions. First my current uniform, the pilot skirt. Not exactly practicle while in the cockpit but works for helping around in engineering, like I'm currently doing. Here's the standard uniform. And here's the uniforms for groundcrews and non-pilot crew assigned to the fighter squadron. The actual flightsuit will come later.
  2. I'll buy you a drink back on Camelot, you can blame the whoopsy on the liquor.
  3. Yes, fighter squadron. http://excaliburweb.tachyondecay.net/ship/fighters/ And there's one being set up on Camelot (which is where I come in). http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=11260
  4. Or it would have been cancelled after the first season and public interest in space exploration wouldn't have even held to an Apollo 17, if the show had that much influence on it eitherway. Personally, I like the more racially intergrated crew we eventually got.
  5. I liked the character of Fu.... um ..... their version of Chekov. If you notice the same actor who played him plays the Babylon5 character that Walter Koenig played.
  6. She moved down the corridor with an ethereal grace. Most of the crew was asleep now, nightshift alone stood watch as most readied themselves for the coming action. Kallah should have been asleep herself but her mind was filled with the dreams of others. Thus was one drawback to being a telepath such as herself. Among her own people dreams would entwine and merge, giving rest and comfort to all. Here she was the recipient alone with no way to console the troubled nightmare or shape the creative imagination. She usually could filter all this out but too many troubled minds slept uneasily this night. Here walking the corridors she could control the intake of thoughts. She actually found it comforting. Barely two days ago she wasn't part of this crew. It was good to feel and take in the emotions of those she would soon work and possibly fight beside. Each person's thoughts were their own but the mood held a common theme. From the gentle almost mechanical emanations from the Vulcan crew members to the randomness of the Human mind there was concern. Concern for what had brought them into this missions, what would come of the ship and crew if conflict arose, worries of being thrown into another war, doubt that the Dominion was worth protecting, and fear of this new unknown enemy. Though Kallah refused to use the term enemy yet. They were unknown for sure but even after the hostile interactions this ship had faced how could you call them an enemy yet. A century before the Gorn had massacred the Cestus III colony yet peace came soon once an understanding was established. Even old "enemies" the Klingons and Romulans stood beside them at this time of peril. Peace was still an option. She held to that one thought through all the troubled and worried emotions she felt. And she was not alone. Under all the concern, the crew knew it's duty and knew whatever would come that they strove for peace in this mission and every mission they would embark on. That was why they were here.
  7. Here are some more fan film sites. New Voyages is probably the best out there. They have "Real" TV and movie folks helping out with it, including Walter Koenig and Gearge Takei! http://www.startreknewvoyages.com/1024/home.php Umm, this one is....prolific. Good CGI but all the live action takes place in what must be a 10X10 room. Get ready to be blue screened to death. The best actors in this are either rarely shown, put in bizzar make up, or ...let's just say they would never pass a Starfleet physical. http://www.hiddenfrontier.org/ Only two episodes and I don't believe this one is being produced anymore, since the last part of the last episode hasn't been finished or updated...in over a year. The first episode is Really campy but the second is actually not bad...except that it isn't finished and looks never to be. http://starshipexeter.com/ This one is still in production and hasn't been released yet. But, go check it's link page out and you'll find ALOT of other fan film sites. http://www.ussintrepid.net/
  8. Aboard Camelot Station, just prior to the fleet's departure... In the dark quiet of his office aboard Camelot Station, Sorehl mused on the assignment given him by Admiral Day. Although the Defiant-class escort Reliant had served as his support vessel on three different stations, he had no sense of possession or encumbering emotional attachment for it. Although designed as a warship, the trusty vessel had served largely as a secure means of conveying diplomats and sensitive cargo in the years since its last great battle above Cardassia Prime. He had seldom taken command himself, relegating its task to rising command officers under his tutelage. But these orders would not allow a continuation of its peaceful post-war career, nor his own. Pressing his fingers together in the double triangle of the ta'al position, he concentrated on the task and the officers he would need to assist him. So instinctual was this process that the soft chirp of his office door did not break his concentration. Maintaining the calm of his meditations, Sorehl spoke, "Enter." As the doors slid open she knew she was interrupting the captain's personal time. Lowering her view, she purposefully attempted to minimize her presence and stepped into the office only as far as the light from the corridor outside intruded, the line of shadows she would not cross. The silhouetted figure in the doorway was obviously female but long hair hid her face. Her eyes were cast downward and she stayed with her back to the light, but the Vulcan saw or simply sensed familiarity. The face did not seem to be one of the station personnel, but as his eyes adjusted to the new lighting, he could make out a single pip on her collar. "Yes, Ensign?" Kallah looked up, slowly. As her hair moved free from her face, Sorehl gained an additional sense of recognition. The small device attached to her right temple was the last key to the puzzle. Despite the discontinuity, he knew her name as she spoke it. "I am Ensign Kallah Ramson," she said through the pleasant tone of her psionic vocalizer. There was a mild level of surprise, which the Vulcan could not help but express in the single action of an uplifted eyebrow. Kallah had mostly expected this, yet still could not constrain her own soft smile. She had been just a baby the last time he had seen her; logically she should be no more than a child at present. "I was unaware that Minaran's had such an accelerated growth cycle," he admitted, getting to his feet. That seemed the most logical answer to this conundrum. "We do not,” she corrected. “You probably remember some of the archaeological features on Canar II. While having an ancient time portal in your backyard makes for an interesting conversation piece, they can be rather unpredictable in the hands of a five-year-old. Of which, my brothers say hello." Kallah smiled again. "As do my mother and father. They send their hopes that you are prospering and they also send their....how did father word it...overemotional love." "I would expect no less,” he countered. “I hope for their peace and longevity, as well. Have you been assigned to Excalibur?" "Not exactly, I was drafted onboard as soon as I arrived, but my primary orders were to deliver this to you." Kallah moved a PADD from her left hand to her right and presented it to him. He stepped closer, accepting the display. "I was ordered to deliver parts, designs, and equipment for the establishment and upgrade of a fighter wing attached to Camelot and the new colony." She let the Captain have a few moments as he reviewed the information on the PADD. His eyes moved swiftly across the words. “Of course.” "Once Excalibur returns, I’ve been ordered to help establish the wing and train pilots in the peculiarities of this new design." She pulled out another PADD and handed it over to Sorehl. "After this mission I will be reporting to you, sir." The Vulcan accepted this new PADD, as well. Knowing her history and her parentage, she was likely more accustomed to starbases and fighter craft than most of the other officers aboard. It was a good fit. He handed the PADD back to her. “Very good,” he assured her. “Please submit this to the Operations officer, Mr. Sprint. He will note your assignment in the duty log.” She nodded her head deferrentially, taking the PADD as she turned away. True to her parents’ stories, he was officious as ever. “And Ensign Ramson…” he spoke behind her. She looked back to see the captain extending his arm. For a moment, she wondered if he wanted the PADD back before realizing what he was offering an un-Vulcan-like gesture. She swallowed a bit as she reached out and shook his hand firmly. It was warm to the touch. Despite the equanimity, she imagined a warmth in his voice, as well. His words were simple. “Welcome to Camelot.”
  9. Not much at all either way. My understand is that at that time everyone was of the idea that wars would be a push button affair with everyone dead in the first 15 minutes. We can see this in how Earth and the Romulans had such a bloody war without ever facing one another. No troops, all starship and I'd guess orbital bombardments. While we've found out that you'll always need troops on the ground to win a war, fiction always seem to go one extream or another. Either it's all starship battles or it's Klingons with pointy things rampaging over troops armed with ranged energy weapons.
