  1. What's up for you this 4th. If it wasn't so dry and the fireworks ban would be lifted we would be celebrating the nation by blowing small chunks of it up. But mostly just cooking out with Church folks.
  2. It all evens out if you consider time dialation while at high impulse, warp field oddities, and the random magic edit to the proper point in the story.
  3. It's happened. Kallah was a sim baby on Aegis and her parents got married in RL and now they have "Calla". And now the sim baby is a player character run by me. Luckly they desided against naming their son N'Rhyse or K'Syia.
  4. I was not getting the trojan at all until last night. So, something was different this time. But, it isn't happening now.
  5. Just to inform, I've suddenly getting this trojan repeatadle. It started Sunday night near midnight and has kept happening to now (Mon 7am). So, whatever code was removed still doesn't seem to be helping on my end.
  6. Personal log, Kallah Ramson. My fighter is in perfect condition, suffering no ill effects from being transported clear across the galaxy. I'm concerned in how the fighters will be positioned. My tests showed valuable seconds lost in launching from Camelot and reaching Avalon. Ground launch from the planet leaves the fighters vulnerable until they reach orbit. I would really like to get Captain Sorehl's opinion on the matter but he has been busy with.... certain matters. And that worries me more than anything else. End log. Kallah turned in her chair away from the desk, glancing at her new quarters. Her eyes flittered between the boxes over to the side. Sighting the one she wanted Ramson rose from the chair. Kneeling down she opened the box, glad to see it's contents like her fighter were undamaged in transit. The small stand inside was made of bright brass. She set it on the floor beside her. The candle was small and smelled of honey. She placed it into the base of the stand and lit it. The little flame licked the bottom of the cup built into the stand. With gentle care she lifted crystal stone out of the box and placed it into the small cup. As the crystal warmed images formed in her mind. They were of family and home; a festival in Founders Square on Canar, a picnic by the New Sea, her little brother giving Renckly a crayon picture of the starbase. With the small tongs she lifted the warm stone from the cup. These were pleasant memories but not what she was looking for. Kallah set another stone into the cup and waited for it to warm. These were the images and memories she was looking for. These were her father's memories from the war. Kallah took deep breaths as the images formed fully in her mind. She could feel the flight stick of the old Marauder class fighter in her hand as it took evasive maneuvers around exploding starships. She saw Jem'Hadar soldiers falling in droves on the sands of Canar. She felt the emotions of war from her father too; sadness at the news of HoD T'Sara's death, a tightness in the chest as D'Mysus gave the news to the Perseus' crew that Betazed had fallen, jubilation as the war finally came to an end. It somehow comforted her to feel these emotions. Because, they were the same thing she felt during the recent battle. Even as decorated as her father was he still felt fear in the midst of battle but duty kept him focused. Now it was her turn and she was on the front lines. She knew inside she was ready for whatever came. She prayed though that it wouldn't.
  7. God's scrapbook... "And here's were the delivery men brought the Earth. Unloading it was quite a chore."
  8. Why did the chicken cross the road? Let's see you stick around with that guy here during mating season!
  9. I've noticed that some of the sims have "encyclopedia" type sections on their websites. Can we set up a centralized folder for information across sims? The idea would be that if I play a Minaran (which I do) I could create a racial profile that others could use. Likewise if a sim comes across a villian they could create an entry for it that other sims could use. It would be like having a non-canon Star Trek Encyclopedea. None of the information would be binding, just out there for others to use and help their sims as they saw fit.
  10. She sat with anticipation by the window, watching the stars streak by. Just a few more moments and they would drop from warp back into the Avalon system. The familiar drop of energy and motion ran through the ship and the stars she was viewing shrank back from elongated spectrums to radiant points of light. She squinted a second as the Avalon star came around into view. As the viewport filter darkened she again looked carefully around into the blackness of space. Growing steadily ahead she could see Camelot. It felt good. She may have only passed through it briefly before coming onboard Excalibur but it was to be her home now. She had always had a station or starbase as home. Even at the Academy she found herself steeling away to Earth Spacedock and actually taking up residence there during her last semester. Now this station would be home. Would it bring the same blessings and trials Aegis had for her parents? Would the colony set up here grow as her home had? She was eager to find out. As Kallah set foot once again on the station's deck she breathed a bit easier. Now she could get back to what had sent her to this distant point in the galaxy. Entering the turbolift, "Cargo bay 3."
  11. ....is the winner, because I've seen that little girl in more than one pair of over the top sunglasses.
  12. ....hillbilly, you're more right than you think..... This boy's grandma is from WVa, thus the outfit. I'll choose a winner in the morning. This'll be tough.
  13. Okay....here goes.
  14. As far as we know the only academy shown on TV or movies is on Earth at San Francisco and I'm sure that's where STSF's "academy" is played out but that really doesn't have any thing to do with your character's bio. I would imagine it would be impossible to funnel every officer in Starfleet through one facility on one planet. I've seen some characters bios that said they went to the academy on Andoria and on Betezed before and that one character had actually never set foot on Earth before.
  15. Ensign Ramson stood at the Engineering consol, filing her duty report. It was brief, simple, to the point as she liked to keep them. But, one errant line slipped in "Maybe Mother was right and I am trying to study too many subjects at once." Pausing a moment Kallah looked over the text on her screen. "Computer, delete last line." The report submitted, she walked slowly down the Excalibur's corridors. "Maybe she was right" still echoing in her head. She had tested out of almost all her piloting requirements before she even arrived at Starfleet Academy. Security training as well was completed almost entirely during her elective hours. Engineering was a huge focus for her but somehow she still managed to get the odd medical or tactical class in. And it was always like this...... ::Kallah flashback ripples (patent pending)::: Little Kallah sat cross legged in front of the small desk. The book's old pages made a pleasant crinkling noise as she turned them. With the turn of the last page she gently closed the book and looked up. She blinked as she saw the sun had set and stars twinkled through the windows. Her brother N'Rhyse lay buried in his pile of floor pillows sound asleep. Sensing outward she could feel her mother too asleep in the other room as well as her younger brother K'Syia. Stretching a little more out her father was still on duty up at the station. {{Kallah! Why aren't you asleep?}} {{I'm sorry, I got caught up in this book. It talked about....}} {{Daughter....sleep, please...}} {{Yes Daddy}} Kallah took the book and put it on the small shelf to the side of the room. Standing she picked up the tiny folding desk and put it in it's place beside the shelf. Then she stretched, raising her arms high into the air and just about standing on her tiptoes. Moving over to her sleeping area she took off her psionic verbilizer and placed it on the shelf that ran around the edge of the room. Taking her clothes off and folding them neatly into the bin under the shelf she then slipped on her long nightshirt. Arranging the pile of pillows she glances up at the bookshelf. There was a question in her head. Maybe if she reread...no, Dad told her to go to sleep. She told herself that as she looked back down and finished arranging the pillows for sleep. Laying easily into them, the Minaran pillows gently cradled all around her body. Tiredness crept over her, starting at her limbs and slowly working it's way inward. But her mind still was nagged with the question. She stole a quick glance at the books again. No, she needed to sleep. Kallah rolled over with her back to the books. There was time enough later. No there wasn't.... she had to figure this out or she'd never sleep. Raising herself up from the pillows she moved on tiptoes back to the shelf. An hours later, the question answered but that led to another tangent. Sound asleep on the edge of a large pillow, clutching a book in one hand and a PADD in the other D'Mysus found his daughter. With a gentle kiss on her cheek he freed the items from her grip and left her to her dreams. And likewise, Ensign Ramson lay in her bed now with the PADD of the latest multi-phasic shield theories slowly sliding out of her sleeping hands.
  16. And our third option for the next ShoreLeave......
  17. Duty report, 0606.11 Finished my assigned repairs of the EPS system. System integrity within limits. I have noted sections that will require replacement or further repairs once we reach a repair facility in the repair report submitted earlier. I assisted briefly in sickbay triage. I am eager to return to my medical studies but that will be secondary as there are a lot of unfinished assignments ahead for me. Firstly, I will need to meet with Captain Sorehl to discuss how he wishes to deploy the new fighter wing. I have many suggestions but I'll happily leave the final decisions in his experienced hands. The fleet has engaged warp towards home. It seems all our repairs are holding so I will log out of my duty shift shortly.... as soon as I remember where my quarters were. .....end log.
  18. I think this is their flag and national motto. Official currency is the IOU and animal is the Ring Tailed Snipe.
  19. Note for those in the states....never eat at a Mexican food place while Mexico is playing, the cooks Are NOT paying attention to anything but the game.
  20. And there we have the reason for all sports in any country.
  21. One advantage to being an engineer was that you were rarely confined to one area of the ship. Ensign Ramson three days earlier was somewhat unfamiliar with the Sovereign class starships. An hour since the battle and she felt she was rebuilding one from scratch. That was mostly a matter of perspective. In her normal duties Kallah might adjust the comm relay of her fighter and walk the long stretch of eight meters to key in the updates into the crafts computer. Now she was covering eight decks tracking down microfractures in the EPS grid. Nearly done Kallah took a momentary break. Easing herself to the floor she folded her legs underneath and to the side of herself, resting her side on the bulkhead of the access tunnel. She was comfortably out of the way here but could see the flow of personnel in the adjacent corridor. Among all the new people a familiar face passed by. It was the Orion she had met on the bridge before the battle. Kallah smiled softly as she thought of her mother. ::Cue Flashback Ripple:: The wind whipped fiercely against the side of the house. The sandstorm outside was harsh but nothing unusual and little Kallah felt safe and protected, especially as she leaned back against her mother. Her father and brothers were up on the station. She and her mother had just come home to get a PADD they had forgotten when the storm blew up. They had faced similar storms before and it was safest now just to wait it out. This didn't bother Kallah. It was something special to have her mother all to herself. When everyone was around their minds mingled and spoke flowingly in ways unexplainable, except for Saraina. Her mother, though part Vulcan never fully developed her telepathy and even if she had it was doubtful she could have fully understood the common melding of the Minaran's minds. It made Kallah sad sometimes as she and her father would have whole conversations with nothing more shown outwardly than a knowing nod....and there her poor mother would just look on and shake her head. Now they sat together happily chatting about the simplest things. Sleepily Kallah snuggled against her mother, letting out a silent yawn. Sara wrapped her arms around her daughter and kissed her gently on the head. Tilting her head Kallah rested her hand over her mothers, comparing the two. Despite the size difference what suddenly struck her most was the tone of their skin, the soft tone of her own and the luscious green of Saraina's. She looked up at her mother, catching a smile then returned to her studying of their hands. Without a word Sara drew a finger from her other hand. Lightly she ran it along the edge of her own hand with Kallah's splayed wide on top to match the shape Sara was outlining. Then she ran her hand up with her thumb on her own arm and the tip of her index finger on Kallah's. Reaching their shoulder Sara gently edged Kallah's chin over and up to look at her. Though faintly little Kallah could see her own face as it appeared in her mothers mind. Their two faces overlapping all hues faded away. The like shapes as well faded. Everything drifted away but a warm enveloping love. Kallah cradled her arms around herself as she rested against the bulkhead. With a soft exhale she turned and stood up again. Just three more sections of EPS to check then she thought she should see if they were needing any help in sickbay. Any little reminder of Mom felt good right now.
  22. "Steroids! The Untold Truth!!!"
  23. I'm working on a flightsuit. Skirt or not you're toast if you're in a normal uniform and you get a crack in your windshield or take a warp speed turn faster than the IDF can compensate.
  24. This is a description of the device Kallah uses to communicate. In case it was missed in my bio, Kallah has no vocal cords. Technical Description: -Psionic Verbilizer. This peice of equipment is used in the translation of telepathic communication into audible speech. The plans to modify a standard universal translator into a telepathic translator were submitted by Spock of Vulcan in 2268. However these plans were largely forgotten. Development of the Psionic Verbilizer began again as Minarans, Thaichians, and several other telepathic species with no audible language became more numerouse within the Federation. Independant research was started by the Ferengi but was abandoned because of lack of willing research subjects. Early versions of the device were bulky and prone to verbilizing every passing thought and emotion of the wearer. The most major advancement in the device came from an ancient Minaran technology. They had developed a means of forming soluable crystals which would react to their telepathy and record specific thoughts as the crystals formed. Using the base materials for these crystals Federation scientists were able to synthisize a liquid crystal gell that could pick up telepathic communications of a specific type and present them in a form easily readable by common audio technologies, and in a small and light package. Normally the device is around 5-7 cm long and is worn on the side of the head near the temple. The verbilizer can be adjusted to speak in most any known language. The device can also be used to communicate directly with eletronic equipment. This requires special training and equipment.
  25. Assistant Engineer's report, Ens Kallah Ramson temporarily assigned reporting. Ship's overall status is fair. EPS grid 39 Alpha has taken major damage but associated systems are being powered by grids rerouted through deck 12 and 13's central EPS lines. This will delay the reactivation of those decks until power can be reverted to proper mains. Ship's weapon's grid is at 79% effectiveness, mostly from power surges and overuse. Fuse circuit replacement in progress. All fuse and safety locks will need to be diagnosed for faults. Shield generator repairs proceeding. Warp core diagnostics underway. Aux generators 1-3 and 6 currently online while secondary EPS lines are repaired. Currently the most prolific problem among the minor systems are coolant leaks and ruptures. For the damage given to this ship, it has held up remarkably well. Once my shift is completed I will see if I am needed to assist with fighter repairs or if sickbay is needing any assistance. I don't believe I will be able to sleep tonight anways. Addendum; I think I broke the CEO's chair........ ....end log.
