  1. "Bajoran system traffic control been informed?" "Yes Ma'am. We are all cleared for go." "Good." Ramson looked around the TIC, generally pleased. She looked over at the master astronautics board and could see the Bajoran system closing in quickly. "Alright, here we go." The Excalibur dropped out of warp. Within an instant 3 fighters shot from the port launch bay followed quickly by 3 from the starboard bay. As the second flights launched a runabout launched from the center bay. In quick order Alpha and Beta squads, 2 runabouts, and Epsilon squad were launched and away. The orchestrated dance all playing out on the master status board in front of Kallah. She nodded and looked over at the launch status boards. Gamma and Zeta squads we already moving into place. She was pleased. A beep caught her attention. "Lt. Ramson, we have a shuttle on approach vector, requesting to dock." She looked at the transponder information circling around the approaching blip on the board. One type 11 shuttle, Starfleet registry, assigned - Starbase 405, flight path origin - Canar system. A quick reaching outward of her senses and it was confirmed. "Clear them for landing bay 2." Kallah double checked the status of the fighter operations. "Continue the operations as planned. I will great the shuttle personally." ---- Kallah just entered the landing bay area as the shuttle touched down on the deck. Moving safely around the crew and deckhands preparing to receive the fighter squads back on board, she reached the shuttle as the doors opened and it's occupants were stepping out. The first was a beautiful green skinned officer in Medical blue's holding the hand of a young boy. Two more children followed eagerly after, both around 10 years old, a boy and a girl. And last a tall and strong officer with Commander pips and a psionic verbalizer like Kallah's. After several years the Ramson family as a whole was together again. Their minds like old times melded and flowed seamlessly together with the only words being to her Orion mother keeping her in the loop, but her smiles and hugs spoke equally clear as any telepathic thought. After several moments the landing bay duty officer approached the group from behind. "Lt. Ramson." Kallah turned. "Ensign Sirleaf, I'd like you to meet my family. My father, Commander D'Mysus Ramson. My mother Doctor Saraina Ramson. The young one is my brother K'Syia. And then there's my twin brother," motioning to the 10 year old boy, "N'Rhyse." The ensign blinked but as he was still mouthing in question the word "twin" Kallah continued. "And this is myself at age 10." The ensign was totally confused now and starting to think this was some odd joke. Kallah, both of them, smiled sweetly. "Time portals, not always the best child's playtoys." N'Rhyse, "I haven't even down anything...yet...and you're still blaming me for it?" "Yes." both Kallah's said in unison. "Um, nice to meet all of you." The ensign tried to recollect his thoughts. "Will you be staying long or shall we prep your shuttle for launch?" Commander Ramson spoke, "If it is alright with your Captain we would like to catch a ride to Camelot. We've been posted there for temporary duty." "It should be okay," Kallah said. "Have their shuttle stored if you will Ensign Sirleaf." "Yes Ma'am." "Come, the landing bay should be getting very busy shortly. Let me show off my office to you all." Kallah beamed.
  2. Kallah looked around her office with a smile. It was a blank bare room, seeing that all her possessions were still on Camelot, but it was her office and that was enough. Deck operations were going smoothly and had settling into a reliable pattern in the first 3 days of their maiden voyage. As she had mentioned to Zorn before their departure, carrier operations were a lost art in todays Starfleet. But, things were going well so far. She was going to begin at-warp launch practice and that's when things should get interesting. The transit from Earth to Bajor and then again from there to Avalon were too good of opportunities for such practice to simply pass up. The one thing that was troubling her... simply because it was troubling to her crew was the lack of names for many of the craft they had on board. She had looked over the ancient Excalibur legend for ideas, as seemed to be normal both here and on Camelot. Much of the legends being Welsh in origin she had compiled a list of 6 Welsh rivers for the runabouts; Severn, Wee, Dye, Towy, Usk, and Teifi. She would have to see what the Captain thought of those. As well she was growing a list of names of Knights from Arthurian legend for the other auxiliary craft. The fighter squads were another issue. She didn't want to discard the ancient Excalibur legend nor the fame the ship had earned in these modern times. But, it was time for them to earn a name for themselves. It was time to add to and not simply borrow famous names of the past. The Lancelots would be Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta squads and the Gueneveres Epsilon and Zeta. Time would give them proper names and they would give those names to all times to remember. Kallah honestly found the whole thing odd but understandable. For Minarans names were nothing more than the thought "I am me", "that is that", or "they are them". For a mute telepathic race names weren't really that needed. But she had lived among many different races and understood the meanings. Where something could not be summed up in a thought a name served well. And it would soon be time to make a name for themselves...again.
  3. "Maybe we shouldn't all try sitting in the front."
  4. Pic looks cool... and very airbrushed/photoshopped. I wouldn't worry about consistency glitches...yet.
  5. "Passengers, please wait till the plane comes to a complete stop.....Stop...STOP!!!!!!!"
  6. ugg, that chili dog isn't settling well.
  7. YouTube has a clip of a live action Thundercats deal...but I saw that quite awhile ago so not sure if that's the same thing. The style was very Power Ranger'ish. As for episodes you can try Veoh but I KNOW that In2TV has them. EDIT: Okay, I knew they HAD it...but I'm not seeing it now.
  8. ::mumbles:: I mentioned this series several months ago and the latest episode last month. Took yall long enough to take notice. And the next Star Trek guest star will be Denise Crosby. After that will be the actor who played General Martok who will be playing HARRY MUDD!! Denise Crosby's episode is titled "Blood and Fire" and is in post production and was actually a script submitted for TNG but rejected because of some homosexual themes (Kirk's nephew and some random crewman have a fling or something). If you're having problems viewing any of the episodes they are all on Veoh. Maybe not as high quality format there but you can atleast watch 'em. They're probably on YouTube also if you don't mind watching it in sliced up clips.
  9. There is a "SIM" Wiki already. http://www.simenc.com/ This, of course covers more sims than just STSF's. EDIT: Wow, just looked over that Wiki too. Seems there's a group that was short on ideas and they just borrowed some of our sim ideas, including a Manticore variant and a flat rip off of Aegis, including the use of one of the old proposed station designs for it's refit to "Sky Harbor". Oh well.
  10. Listen, they hired me to play Spock but I can't talk them into signing you up as Sulu.... no matter HOW much you wave that sword around!!!
  11. While I love the Princess Bride reference (and that I have video of the kiddo barfing on his grandfather) but the winner is IMAGES "Creepiest Bond villain ever." because it made me Really laugh...and he use to always do the Doctor Evil pose too.
  12. Having kids gives ya a wealth of good pics. How about trying this one.
  13. There were few entries in this weeks caption contest, seeing that 99% of the board members couldn't see anything unusual.
  14. I have been "aware" of Star Trek all my life. My mother went to the first Star Trek convention in Dallas. The first episode I remember watching was Man Trap. We were returning from vacation and we had a small portable tv. I just happened to turn it on when we were about an hour from home and there it was. It was odd cause I knew all the characters and the general plot but I realized then that this was the first episode I'd seen for myself (the local station had just taken up running it in syndication again). Me and my mother's brainwaves have always been the same and I think I just inherited her memories of Star Trek.
  15. Wisely, this submission was rejected as the Romulan Senate revamped the Imperial Signet.
  16. Austin Healey. Forgot the year, but it's a 3000 mark III.
  17. Battles arise when two things try and fill the same niche or draw from the same resources. And the concept of Science vs Religion is a false notion anyways. Should probably be pseudo-science vs pseudo-religion. But that's all well off topic of this thread.
  18. I drove a British sports car to a July 4th party. Does that make me unpatriotic?
  19. You have to be a high priest of mathematics to really understand it. Otherwise, you just have to take it on faith that they know what they're talking about. That's why science is a religion. I'll stick with the short answer myself, God did it, and let the scientist keep guessing how he did it.
  20. I think the best caption would be "SORRY, THIS IMAGE HAS BEEN REMOVED"
  21. "That Orion body lotion didn't exactly have the effect I was hoping."
  22. Okay, been running around Second Life while on vacation and it's interesting. If you could find the right people with the skills and time you could build an interesting sim. Note, "sim" in SL jargon means an area of land or something. Found you need a good connection for it to run smoothly. My in-law's DSL was not quite up to a clean performance. Same laptop at home is working alot better on my DSL. There is a Star Trek museum in SL with a TOS bridge replica. (There are also SG1 style stargates, which were pretty cool). Like I mentioned before, it seems SL would be a good place for a promenade type setting and maybe to be used for recruiting simmers. Oh, and it could also be used just to make character avatars.
  23. Actually, it's one of the options for start up avatar, the "Furry". It looks maybe more like a fox but can be adjusted.
  24. I'm trying Second Life. Currently doing it from my laptop since I'm on vacation and while I don't lag at all...the graphics are well outta wack. My avatar is running around most of the time with wild bald spots and covered in random textures from *somewhere* else. So, apparently my avatar is on LSD. SL has the ability to provide a simming enviroment. It may just take a leep of imagination. For a game currently played in a chat room and in your own head, it's sad to say that may be too hard for some. I'm a little concurned at the seemingly myopic perspective on this though. Just cause maybe one sim might try this setting doesn't mean ALL the sims MUST change formats. For going boldly and exploring new worlds... some seem happy to sit in your well defined trenches. I think STSF is one of the few or only simming groups to sim in one and only one format. Even small groups usually have atleast one email sim. Anyway, where I think SL could be great is in a promenade setting. Someone go in, build a starbase, and let people just relax, talk, sim, whatever is a virtual Trek setting. Throw up a few posters with links to STSF and see what happens.
  25. Search YouTube for Star Trek Refurbished. While this could be interesting I just keep thinking of a certain South Park episode.
