  1. ::looks at above posts:: Thanks for the congratulations. Hopefully I'll have some nights off soon so I can actually observe a few advanced sims. This week has been all work and no star trek. ::sighs:: trekgirl_a I don't quite understand your question. Can you not get into the chatroom? This is the link to the chatrooms to participate in sims. This is the link to the schedule. I'm not quite sure what you mean by you can't get in anywhere. If you are having trouble loading the chatroom, you may want to update java on your computer. I hope this helps a little bit.
  2. A huge congrats on graduating. I'll try to bloody the red-shirt well--- 'tis only proper afterall.
  3. Congratulations Ensign Finn!!!!!!!!! :)
  4. I'm sorry. My comment wasn't meant to come of like I was angry or bitter about not getting the post that I had initially requested. I understand that multiple requests may be made for a single post. Sorry if it came off that way. I admire what you guys do and the patience it takes to deal with newbies, I wasn't trying to be insulting or anything. When I made my comment I was simply stating that I had indeed attempted to take the advice given to me by people in this thread that I should try and branch out. I appreciate all the advice that has been given to me and understand that it comes from experience, which is why I attempted to follow it. Personally, I really like engineering, so I'm not complaining. :)
  5. Thanks for the guidance Spitfire, but I believe the conversation has steered back on topic. In fact, the last post of mine was solely about simming and my attempts to branch out. From the advice people have left this humble newbie ::looks at self:: I have gathered that I should attempt to sim in as many varieties of roles that I can. Thus, my last post was my observation that although I did request med and tac before eng, I was still in engineering. I may be mistaken, but I felt that that particular observation coming from a newbie was on topic. Then again, I am still very new at this. I thank you for your warning either way.
  6. wOOt. Another academy sim. Didn't die either. CENG.... I was trying to branch out... requested Med, then tac, then eng.... but still got eng. 'Twas fun. Can't wait until tomorrow. I hope I don't have to work.... that would not be near as much fun as simming. :)
  7. This is such a great thread idea. Well, being as my favourite series was Voyager, all of my favourite phrases come from it. :) Seven of Nine: Nevertheless, I am willing to explore my humanity. Take off your clothes. --- Tuvok: I am curious. Have the Q always had had an absence of manners, or is it the result of some natural evolutionary process that comes with omnipotence? --- Tuvok: [after repelling a creature from Voyager's hull] It appears we have lost our sex appeal, Captain. --- Neelix: I don't suppose you've ever heard of the Vulcan Rumarie? Tuvok: The Rumarie is an ancient pagan festival. Neelix: Full of barely-clothed Vulcan men and women, covered in slippery Rillan grease, chasing one another. Tuvok: That has not been observed for a millennium. Neelix: Well, it's time to bring it back! B'Elanna Torres: [over the com] Lieutenant Tuvok, report to engineering. Tuvok: Acknowledged. [walks away] Neelix: [shouting after Tuvok] I've been thinking of a Rumarie theme for the mess hall next week. Lots of high-fat, greasy foods, and if people want to take off their clothes and chase one another... Well, it certainly wouldn't hurt morale around here. ------ There are so many entertaining phrases in that series (a lot of conry ones too :) )
  8. I finished my paper and still managed to get almost thirty minutes of sleep before I had to go to class!!! Unfortunately, I had to work tonight... so I didn't get to go to the academy sim. Maybe I'll get off early tomorrow. ::looks at clock:: Hmm. Well I guess that would be today.
  9. Finn, oh my gosh, I totally love you (sorry, I had to get out some of my "I'm a ditzy valley girl" build-up). That link is absolutely wonderful. This paper is beginning to look more managable. :) ::runs off to do some more research:: :)
  10. Oomph. I have a term paper due tomorrow and I have to work tonight... hence I shall not be going to the holodeck tonight and last night it was cancelled due to lack of participation. ::enjoys being on boards for a two minute break from looking up Emily Bronte facts:: Argh, I should probablly go work some more. ::sighs:: :) wOOt
  11. Okay, so I lost power today because of a tree catching fire at the front of my neighbourhood and falling on the lines. I got it back at 9:56! I did not die in this Academy sim. :P This is so immature of me, but I was Helm and Opps so my designation was <HOPS> and every time I saw it come up on the screen I'd start laughing. Hmmm. ::shakes head:: :) I have the maturity level of a teenager sometimes (checks birthday); Oh yeah, I am a teenager. Anywho, I had a lot of fun. <HOPS>
  12. Woot (sorry, couldn't help it). My boss called me, and I don't have to go in tonight!!! Therefore, I shall be joining (provided the computer is not being used) another Academy sim tonight. Hope I don't die (although it was entertaining :P ).
  13. Hmm. Well, there's my first death. I think. Death by flame, sacrifice. Very interesting.
  14. Well I am completely new. I went into the Holodeck at 12am for my first time. As Assistant Eng, I managed to use replicators 60 years prior to their invention. Hm. Well, that wasn't too smooth. But I had loads of fun. So I guess that's the important thing, eh? Anyroad, I am glad to have found this site and can't wait until the next time.
