Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and anything (almost anyway) science fiction, TV shows, movies, books etc...Boba Fett being my favorite character. I like paleontology/geology, and fossil hunting. I play cello and bass guitar. I love movies, especially bad old horror films. I listen to classic rock, and 80s keyboard music.
  1. It was hard for me not to start shouting Ezekiel 25:17 in front of either of them.
  2. I just got back from L.A. a couple days ago, where the weather was 80 degrees and no humidity. I come back here, and the heat and humidity hits me like a brick. I also saw Quentin Tarantino at a CD/Movie store, and got Samuel L. Jackson's autograph in a comic book store.
  3. I don't like it when people bash Natalie Portman in Episode III. Seriously, I'd like to see anyone take the line "Anakin, you're breaking my heart!" and not make it sound stupid. Blame the person who wrote the stupid line, not the actor. Hayden Christiansen I simply don't like.
  4. ...vacation All I ever wanted Vacation Had to get away Vacation Meant to be spent alone
  5. Actually, interestingly enough, this earthquake wasn't part of the New Madrid fault zone.
  6. We had a magnitude 5.2 earthquake here yesterday, which, although extremely minor, is rare for this area. Which has sent everyone into an unnecessary frenzy. So the local news people interview a local expert, who I work with, and I happened to be there at the time. Their first question was if the recent rain and flooding had anything to do with it. I was off camera, trying my hardest not to laugh, while he was struggling to keep his face straight on camera. Then the other local news station did a segment on earthquake preparedness, and their advice was to leave the building you are in and head straight for an open area. Makes me wonder what will happen if we ever get a major earthquake.
  7. I'll be the round about The words will make you out 'n' out You change the day your way Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley The music dance and sing They make the children really ring I spend the day your way Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you I will remember you Your silhouette will charge the view Of distance atmosphere Call it morning driving thru the sound and even in the valley In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you Along the drifting cloud the eagle searching down on the land Catching the swirling wind the sailor sees the rim of the land The eagles dancing wings create as weather spins out of hand Go closer hold the land feel partly no more than grains of sand We stand to lose all time a thousand answers by in our hand Next to your deeper fears we stand Surrounded by a millions years I'll be the round about The words will make you out 'n' out I'll be the round about The words will make you out 'n' out In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there Twenty four before my love and I'll be there I'll be the round about The words will make you out n out You change the day your way Call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too Twenty four before my love you'll see I'll be there with you
  8. I've been reading his books since I was 6, and he was always my favorite author. I was sad to hear he passed away, but glad that he could be with us so long. For those who haven't seen it, there's a video of Clarke on youtube, speaking on his 90th birthday.
  9. Memphis. Although the BBQ in Kansas City is great.
  10. Hmmm... Better hope she doesn't steal anything from the set.
  11. Simon Pegg? Great, there's now only a slim hope that I'll like and take this movie seriously. The thought of Simon Pegg in the movie just makes me laugh. The thought of Simon Pegg with a Scottish accent makes me laugh even harder. Don't get me wrong. I like Simon Pegg, and I love Shaun of the Dead. Which is why I won't be able to take him seriously, since he's so funny. So he better do some pretty convincing acting.
  12. It's official. I'm dressing up as one of the Blues Brothers for Halloween. It's kind of a spur of the moment thing, since I decided on it tonight, and I'm going to a costume party tomorrow. I'll save the bologna costume for next year.

  14. Okay, something different. The high schoolers in the next town over from me are officially all idiots. The high school there is big, very big. Pretty much a campus. And a couple days ago it went up in a full fledged riot. It started out with a fight, then a few more started, and finally everyone was beating everyone else up. The police have arrested around 10 students so far (and a couple more after a few small fights broke out a day later). What was the cause of this, you ask? It all started with two students arguing over a donut.
  15. Yessss! I finally know how to be a pirate girl.
