  1. Are we really that small? Or did the Vor`cha class cruiser get supersized?
  2. ( A Note to all readers OOC: Byblos has a PADD he brought with him from Tranquility. It is a customized PADD built by a Nausicaan "Slicer" (hacker-engineer-electronics, duotronics ODRI guy) named VARGROS. Currently he does not use the Qob's computers for his personal notes. Just this PADD that will self destruct (basically overheat and melt) if an incorrect password entry is made, hence more personal privacy. But, Byblos has already mistakenly "destructed" two prior PADDs of the VARGOS type, and the slicer only gave him one last one....and it's running out of memory. Hence entries will be short.) My Second Entry since joining Qob. Still continue to make mistakes, I guess I am trying to prove myself useful too much. Like a rookie back in my cycle gang days. 1. Captain of Vestibule was extremely upset with mess I made near engineering. He demanded I clean up the corpse of the Pirate leader and clean everything with the mess. I complied using the Vestibule's bio-hazard removal equipment. He also demanded I change clothes, which were bloodstained badly from the dead Merc. Obtained biohazard containers ..changed on board Qob and returned disposing of clothes on Vestibule. When asked about the dead Merc's head I played dumb. I think he's still mad. 2. While briefly aboard Qob I welded the toolbox that contained the Merc's head shut. Using a tricorder I "borrowed" from the Vestibule I confirmed the box was airtight. So no odor offensive to others might escape. Left the box and contents on Qob . 3. Down to my last outfit. My original when I joined Qob. I need to get paid or the crew really is going to think I stink. Now back to Vestibule with newly acquired disruptor from dead Merc. I imagine Pher is waiting for me.
  3. Log takes place right after last week's sim. Byblos looked down at the corpse that was the Merc leader. He could not recall his name at the moment, just the fact that a remote detonator had dropped from Merc's hand after his failed attempt to decapitate the Merc with all his might. "Stupid Qoh!" Byblos could only yell at himself through his O2 mask. He was furious he failed to consider the leader would have a bomb switch. He plunged his sword in anger into the abdomen of the dead Merc, half expected the ship to blow up at the same time. But nothing happened.... Byblos looked around ...and saw Pher behind him. He thought he must of been looked like an uncontrolled monster to Pher. Shame and disgust rushed over him. He could only muster a few words to his superior...through the O2 mask. "Pher...a device..near his right hand ..I am sorry. I jyked up. A detonator!" "Not to worry," Pher responded to Byblos before spinning back to eye the hostages and captives. "William! One of the local crewman was likely working with the raiders. See if you can figure out which one and secure him! Byblos and I will be heading for the control room. There are two more raiders there." She turned back to Byblos. "Not to worry. You're a male from a warrior culture. You get jyked up. You all get jyked up. The question is whether you get jyked up in a useful way." She smiled, blowing him a kiss. "Now if I could just get you jhked up in a useful way when we're off shift. Don't worry about the detonator. Ethan, Shane and everybody handled that. Bomb is taken out." Pher added a silent "I hope" to that. She stooped to pick up the detonator. Showing the two remaining raiders that their bomb was out might contribute to any negotiations. She looked up at the big guy. She'd have to talk with him soon, but right now she was in a hurry. "Can you think of anything that should be done before containing the last two raiders? Byblos felt like a ton of tritanium was lifted off of him upon hearing Pher's reply. "Oh, I can think of one right of the top of my head" The bloodstained Nausicaan extracted his blade from Merc's abdomen and promptly finished what he failed to do first. He removed the Merc leader's biosuit helmet, took his COMM unit, tricorder ,weapon; finally he dispatched of Diklyt's head. Byblos stood with the Merc's head in his hand like only a Nausicaan would.. wincing a bit with his own leg wound. "This might come in handy unnerving the remaining raiders. Although I imagine the Boss is not going to approve of my 'professionalism.'" Byblos chuckled waving the grizzly object in his left hand. "Need to retrieve Audrey?" The Blood soaked Nausicaan asked... "Don't think I can," Pher replied. "Joe thinks the remaining raiders might mess up ship's systems. If so, Audrey is our hook to countermand." Pher vanished her pistol, picked up her long gun, and started... somewhere. She turned to Byblos. "You know how to find the bridge? If you don't, see if you can get Shane to give directions." "I'll find the bridge Pher, and boss-head here hopefully will get the Mercs on the bridge spooked!" Byblos shouted as the Orion begun running down the deck. "Fear can be a powerful weapon," Byblos said looking at Diklyt's head at arm's length and his tricorder which showed the ship's layout by luck. The Nausicaan ran the best he could with a limp in search of an equipment hatch for a few more "things" on the way to the bridge, leaving the rest of Diklyt behind for the inevitable clean up the Boss would have him do.
  4. Byblos led the team to an access hatch one deck up from their previous position. The hatch according to Pher's self named ODRI "Audrey" suggested an ODN junction box that could disrupt climate and atmospheric systems aboard the Vestibule. Byblos had never used an ODRI before aside from the "borrowed" one he showed Shane back on Tranquility. That time was humorous, this time it was something else all together. Byblos pried the junction box open. QI`yah! Pher your friend here is quite a tool. But I need it to do some things for me, I think you'll need to hold it while I attempt to disrupt the data cables. One thing I can say is it looks like a Gular Optics type of wiring. Now when I was breaking into...places...on Tranquility, they used a common color code to designate which data systems the ODN junction was handling. I haven't done this in space, but I am going to assume the company did not change colors. Can you hold the OD-err Audrey here..and magnify this bundle right here? "Sure." Pher positioned herself as best she could to help. "Just let me know what you want me to do. I'm better with pain sticks n dancing than this tech stuff." "Well, if it makes you feel better Pher, I was better at blades as well. I've done a little of this. I'll try not to block the optics that handle gravity..Heheh." The Nausicaan habitually laughed a bit. Byblos was grateful the hatch was not located on the ceiling of the deck otherwise someone might have to give Pher a lift. Then again the others might enjoy that. Byblos reached into his back pocket and produced a small case. The tool kit was small, but given what he was about to attempt with the tiny ODN lines they had to be temporarily blocked, not outright cut. "Pher I need to know once again, before I proceed what part of the ship and how long I need to disrupt the atmospheric systems. Also if you can get ODR- doh..Audrey to magnify the optical pulses flowing through these..I can hold Audrey if you need to get her up close to the optics Now Pher, I really need to know again, exactly..what the Boss has planned. Otherwise I may Frak things up for all of us. Byblos looked down at Pher as serious as his Nausicaan face could look. "He wants to control life support in engineering," Pher responded. "Not sure why. When you're in, give him a call but don't do anything until then. Keep them guessing if you can." "Life support eh?" Byblos gave Audrey a close look in Pher's hands as it focused on the ODN lines. Thank latinum those things have basic engineering diagnostics tools. "Okay boss, tough question for you. Ready?" Pher's eyes narrowed somewhat. "Ready." I see two options. Option one, we remotely control the ODN relay I have isolated. The only way I seeing doing this is having Audrey mounted inside the panel. And yourself send an audio commands to it-her. Second option, I stay behind here and manipulate the ODNs to engineering as things go down. I'll have to remain here to see it done. I guess it's crew size vs. not having your "Audrey." Sorry Pher, I did not come expecting this. It's your choice boss." "What? Didn't anyone ever tell you to expect the unexpected? Titch..." Pher considered briefly. "Option one. Audrey, accept verbal commands from me through Bylbos' communicator, verify voiceprint." She then looked up at Byblos. "I guess you're going to be with me." Byblos tucked Audrey inside the ODN access panel, it's full attention to the ODN bundle wire handling engineering life support, next to it he placed his COMM unit activated. Finally the Nausicaan closed the hatch. "Amazing Pher, I'll have to try to 'procure' an ODRI one day and name it 'Thing'. They would make quite a couple!" the Nausicaan laughed. "Okay Boss let's kill some mercs" Byblos followed Pher to the next task that lay ahead in engineering with the rest of the team.
  5. Addendum to Bio: Before Byblos rose through the ranks of the "Cycles of Death" in Tranquility City, the Nausicaan was a low ranking crew-member of the "Black Death" a ship whose origins trace back to the Cardassian/Bajoran conflicts of the 2370s. Most Starfleet Analysts classified the Pirate Ship as a "Maquis Raider" type, albeit the vessel over time was modified with plundered sensor, weapons and defensive systems. The Black Death was also equipped with both cargo and personnel transporters making her an excellent pirate vessel to acquire whatever she needed. The tactic often employed most often by the crew was to ambush small freighters or personal craft in space lanes from nearby nebulas. Once aboard the pirates killed anyone in their way and took currency and what whatever equipment deemed usable. Once pillaged the ship was destroyed, and the Black Death quickly retreated to her hiding place. The Black Death was approximately 60m in length. A modified warp drive gave the ship a maximum speed of around warp the 8.5. The vessel was highly maneuverable at sublight speeds and an had extensive RCS thruster suite to maneuver for docking. As with all Maquis Raiders, armament throughout the vessel's life was enhanced, added or subtracted. Wingtip disruptors were backed up by a forward firing photon torpedo launcher. Attempts to mount a second torpedo launcher aft were unsuccessful. Numerous adjustments were made to the shield generator aboard the Black Death but it was never a reliable component of the ship. A tractor beam was installed on the ventral side of the ship to pick up anything of value from debris fields. Items of value were detected via an outstanding sensor suite for a vessel of its type. Her long range sensors usually provided an excellent timing of when to run from approaching law enforcement/Starfleet vessels. The Black Death was crewed exclusively by Nausicaans. Her Captain happened to be Byblos' father. As with all Nausicaan male children, Byblos was thrown out of his home at the age of 13. His mother did contact his father who picked him up and he subsequently employed him as a deckhand on the Black Death, treating him no different than any other crew-member. Beatings and fights were common amongst the crew, with only the violence of murdering crews of other vessels seeming to satisfy the crews rage. Byblos was taught eventually basic ship operations, repairs and piloting the Black Death while the crew was pillaging another hapless vessel. As he grew older and stronger he joined the boarding parties in their carnage. However, Byblos did often disagree with his father on targets, something is Father did not care for at all. About 13 years after joining the ship, Byblos witnessed his Father make a mistake attacking a Federation Cargo vessel believed to be carrying munitions. After speaking his mind about the target, Byblos was thrown off the boarding party for cowardice. Not minutes later after the boarding party arrived, a Federation Defiant class vessel emerged from the same nebula the pirate vessel had come from. The Black Death was subsequently destroyed in a futile battle with the Starfleet Vessel. Somehow, Byblos managed to escape the destruction in a lifepod which was thrown back into the nebula both vessels had planned their ambush. After floating in space for weeks, a Nausicaan freighter on a whiskey run picked up Byblos and took him to Aldebaran. It is unknown how Byblos migrated to Tranquility City. The Nausicaan is also unaware if his father and fellow crew-members survived the doomed pirate ship Black Death.
  6. Qob takes on a Merc/Pirate Constellation Class Vessel. Photos compliments of Chris:
  7. Okay after some thought, It would be best Byblos refrain from getting this Zoalus design marked on anything until he knows what it means? Knowing his luck it says something like.."My Parents gave me horsey rides when I was little and I miss them very much!"
  8. Not a bad idea. Would be nice hoverbike art, but the art would leave a trail as to where the bike has been. Actually I am a little stumped on Nausicaan physiology. Ex astris scientia, a fantastic Star Trek ship and alien site clearly mentions Nausicaan anatomy has changed in some of the Star Trek TV shows. Well Mainly one. Enterprise. I prefer to think as Byblos as the towering type bodyguard seen on DS9 or the guy who ran a blade through Picards chest in TNG..granted to makeup was cruder. I lack a defined skin color and face as a result..grrr..Enterprise. I never thought of giving Byblos Tattoos, it would be interesting since he views his journey on Qob as another part of his life an he can document it on is body as a tattoo. Of course that would, leave a trail if someone killed Byblos (could happen any day!?). Curious if the Captain would be incensed if Byblos went around the galaxy getting Tattoos for each mission of Qob. Interesting potential character aspect. And that Zoalus work looks cool for a tattoo! Byblos' player..
  9. Byblos likes the business ends of the Qob's wings. It never hurts to have big guns on a small but mighty ship!
  10. What are my Nausicaan Eyes looking at? Looks like Biker Art! -Byblos
  11. Qob flying over Zoalus Our wings are still in combat mode..make for an odd shot..but maybe with all those Gun Turret Defenses we had no choice. (Just another image I felt compelled to post)

Ship Entry One. Stupid me has already made stupid mistakes since joining this crew. 1. Never question a Captain about his ship's condition, especially in a bugged enviornement. Heck my dad taught me that when I was mopping deck boy on our ship years ago. Stupid. Keep concerns to self..or someone I can eventually trust. 2.Do NOT go offworld to heavily intelligence gathering worlds. Xorax..My name is now in their database. I don't know how often the Guardians visit that world. I left a trail.. 3. Don't play psychologist when you aren't one. The Chief engineer clearly has demons in him..if I recall the events..I sounded like a "headshrinker"! The plus side though was getting my ass kicked. By a HUMAN ..imagine that. 4. No more mistakes.
