  1. Happy Anniversary Reaent. I used to be on it too, and look back on my Reaent days as a fun time. Lot of good memories on that sim. You're looking good at 15! One more year, and you can drive. :P
  2. ..and we drank wine and had an Elvis concert in the mess hall :P
  3. Yay, Happy Birthday Jami :P
  4. Zürich, Swiss Confederation, Earth The sun shone brightly over the respectably large home over looking Lake Zürich. Boats and skimmers plied by in the lake while shuttle crafts and transports whizzed over head. In this city, with its rich history, life went on as usual. However, inside lake front mansion time seemed to be at a crawl. For the past few days, Captain Rolf Seiben was going over evidence against him with his court appointed JAG Mr. Locke, reviewing Federation law and the Prime Directive in detail, trying to form a case that favours him. The hours were long, but the two men managed to do their best, preparing for possible questions the court may throw at him. Therefore, when Seiben saw a shuttlecraft land on his front porch, he felt a little bit of relief inside in addition to a growing feeling of anxiety in the pit of his stomach. The shuttlecraft bore the insignia of the Federation. It touched down quietly in front of his house as it stirred up a small plume of dust from the dirt its landing thrusters were kicking up around it. Moments later, two armed guards emerged from the shuttle. They slowly walked over to the front door and pressed the door chime. With a long sigh, Seiben gathered his things and walked to the door. He smiled to his wife just before he walked past the door with the two guards. Though it was an arranged marriage, Seiben had tried his best to get to know his new wife in the journey back to Earth on the Kentucky. At least she seemed more happier since arriving in Zürich. The large home was probably more in line of what she was used to back in her native planet 892-IV. Though not slaves, the butlers and maids in the estate seemed to cover her needs. "I'm sure everything will be all right" he said reassuringly to her as the guards escorted him into the shuttle. He couldn't hear her response, as the doors closed behind him. The pilot fired up the thrusters and the shuttle immediately began its ascent into the sky. Before long, Zürich flashed by as the shuttle sped over Europe on its course across the Atlantic to Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco. The subsequent days of preparation with Mr. Locke had finally come to this. After today, he would finally find out if he would continue to have a future in Starfleet. He looked stoic as he glanced out of a window at the whizzing green land below, somewhere over France. Before long he fell asleep in the quietness of the shuttle, dreading the trial that was shortly about to come.
  5. Meanwhile, in Russia...
  6. See, that's why it's always beneficial to remember to pay your insurance premiums each month. :P
  7. We're also planning on running the Challenger for the upcoming Labour Day long weekend as usual if enough people show up. If not, we'll spend another week shore leave on the station before beginning our next mission on the Columbia. Happy Labour Day, everyone! :P
  8. Happy Anniversary Aegis! ;)
  9. "I guess it shouldn't really be much of a surprise really" Seiben said quietly as he was being led to the Security Office. The sense of shock at being arrested long since past. "I guess not. I assume you were aware of the consequences when you chose to marry the Roman Ambassador" replied Commodore Riley who was still walking with him. "Yeah, I had a feeling something like this would have happened" mused Seiben. Riley glanced over at Captain Seiben. She couldn't tell how he was feeling based on the stoic look on his face. "Then I trust you've been thinking on who you'd want to represent your case?" asked Riley. Seiben shrugged. "Well, no not really. I was kind of busy chasing Orions and trying to get my memory back after that mine explosion. It kind of slipped my mind" he smirked. Riley smiled. "Keeping your sense of humour to the end, I see?" Seiben shrugged again. "Yeah, it helps in sticky situations" he said with a bit of a smile. After being processed in Security and escorted into a brig, Seiben spent two or three hours alone where an official looking man walked up to his cell to meet him. He hadn't met this man before, but Seiben had a feeling he knew why he was here. A guard appeared and lowered the forcefield surrounding the cell, allowing the man to walk in. "Good evening, Captain" the smartly dressed man said. "I'm Stanford Locke, I'll be your defence attorney for your impending trial" Seiben sat up and shook the extended hand of Stanford Locke. "I shouldn't be surprised the Admiral found a defence attorney for me so quickly" Seiben said "Well, you were too busy to worry about that. Admiral Seiben simply saved you the trouble. Locke stood up as several guards appeared. Seiben wasn't sure if they were the same guards that escorted him here in the first place. "The trial is to take place at Starfleet Headquarters. You are to be transported back to Earth aboard the USS Kentucky, which is leaving in the next half hour" Locke stood up and stepped aside as one of the guards helped Seiben up. "That's quick. I hoped to at least be able to contact my crew and let them know I'm okay. I'm pretty sure they've heard of my arrest through the grapevine" said Seiben. "You can do that once you're on board the Kentucky" replied Security chief, a gruff bulky Tellarite. "And my wife?" asked Seiben. "She has been notified and will join you on the Kentucky. Captain Henriksson has arranged a VIP suite for you both to stay in for your trip back to Earth" said Locke. "Oh well, that's awfully kind of him" *** A short time later, Seiben was reunited with his wife Julia aboard the Kentucky. They were escorted into a rather plush looking quarters, roughly twice the size of his own quarters on the Challenger. "I trust it meets the satisfaction of you and your lovely wife?" asked Captain Eric Henriksson stood by the door. "Yes, thank you Eric" said Seiben to his old Academy roommate. Interesting how things sometimes worked out like that Seiben thought to himself. Henriksson smiled and nodded, then turned to exit. While Julia explored the suite, Seiben looked out of the window as the Kentucky began pulling out of her berth. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the Challenger. The Challenger was brightly lit in her berth and was swarmed by several work bees and other support craft in the processing of being disassembled. It was always tough for a captain to see their ship in this vulnerable state, but especially tough for Seiben, not being sure if he was ever going to see or command that ship again.
  10. Don't worry ma'am. I'm from the internet!
  11. I'll give to Grom for poking fun at GM. Honourable mentions go to Mark Garrison for his Mario reference and Karo for referencing GTA
  12. Sweet. Here we go:
  13. That's the last time I'm letting you drive, Deanna.
  14. Happy Belated Birthday, STSF. It slipped my mind too, I must admit. But things sure have changed since the time of my first academy as a cadet, way back in 2003, simming in the old StarTrek.com chatrooms. I'll always fondly remember all the fun times we've had over the years in the forums, my Advanced Sims, and the Academies (especially the Pandarians! Here's to many more! :P
  15. Ahh, so they aren't as big as dinner plates and scream like the urban legends lead us to believe? :P Creepy Spiders!
  16. I know it's called the Diablo, but I think that's taking it a little too literally.
  17. Happy Birthday, Dac! :P
  18. Good job to Spain and Paul for the victory.
  19. And Paul the Octopus is off the menu! Let's see if he gets the perfect 8-0 tomorrow.
  20. If you're the betting type, it looks like Spain is going to take it, according to everyone's favourite octopus. ¡Viva España!
  21. The octopus knows it's stuff. I wonder if he'll predict the winner of the World Cup Final.
  22. Foiled! Curse you, octopus! Congrats Spain.
  23. You won't be saying that 6 months from now! But yeah, it was frikkin hot today wasn't it? Apparently, there was a big black out in Toronto today, and the hotel the Queen was having dinner at was affected. (They had back up generators though). But not the part of the city I'm in. Go figure :P
  24. Good game from Germany blowing away Argentina like that - certainly wasn't expecting that result. I predict a Germany/Netherlands final.
  25. Due to popular demand, we will be simming Sunday 4 July for Challenger. Given the number of plays that will be away, we will not be advancing the plot. If, however, there is less than 6 people in the sim, I will be forced to cancel.
