  3. All consider for a moment what history has demonstrated as it pertains to science fiction and entertainment. I for one remember reading and listening to "Radio" broadcast that mentioned something that eventually became a reality, space travel for instance,lasers,radar,etc.,etc.. As stated it is "Entertainment",the science will follow soon enough as I am sure there may be an individual out there that will take the inspiration of science fiction and help make it become science reality....just my two cents.
  4. Well there ya go about all that can be said has been...Welcome aboard, may you not die horribly in your first academy...look forward to seeing you around.

  12. Hamming It Up Personal Log: Eagle,James,T.,Lt.Sr.grade,Tactical Officer U.S.S. Arcadia NCC-1742-E The last thing Eagle had witnessed was a surprised expression mixed with anger at his presence on what appeared to be the bridge of the Porcine ship. The very next observation was his appearance back on the Arcadia...back home. Hastily logging back onto the tactical console and immediately confirming ship status he relaxed a bit...drawing in a welcome breath of untainted air. The Porcine race had apparently saved their collective bacon indeed from the effects of the radiation that had almost fried us up. Spotting Sam as she entered the bridge as what appeared to be Jordan and Daena being in beam transit in all probability to sickbay, after all the Csci had not been with the group during the hallucination and recovery stages on the Pig ship. I certainly hope she can be treated effectively ...She is a very competent Science officer and would be a loss to the ship and crew. The next step was of course insure the additional crew members that had been beamed over and treated were being beamed back to the Arc as treatment and release upon recovery was accomplished...I do so hope Sam has gotten our UT to perform at a better rate than the Porcine UT is capable of. Placing the monitors onto automatic I exited the bridge after a relief was acquired and headed to our quarters to positively insure the twins and the nanny were back and intact. The doors opened to our quarters and our Nanny along with the twins were in the front room apparently discussing their own adventures. Nanny Graham looked up with a questioning look as I entered and knelt down for my hugs as the twins rushed me. Ms. Graham watched and sat patiently by until Sotak and T'Linna had their fill of hugs and kisses. "Mr. Eagle" came her first injection into the questions and remarks session the twins were hurriedly issuing. "What has just occurred...and are we going to be ok now?." promptly followed. Placing one twin on each knee...after taking a seat across from the concerned Nanny I attempted to put her concerns to rest,or at the very least insure her we were not about to be taken once again and consumed by any frightening alien species at this very moment in time. "I cannot share any classified information with you at this time...let it suffice to say from all appearances we are through the worst of it.". I paused for a moment to let what brief information I was enabled to share with her sink in. Sotak and T'Linna had been communicating...telepathically to be sure as both of their small faces looked up simultaneously with a hint of mischievous glints in both their eyes as they then turned their attention to Ms. Graham. Taking the hint I proceeded to shut down that little idea very quickly and instructed them "Both" to play nice and do not antagonize her with any sort of trick or mind game. Sotak was the first to speak as he just looked down a bit as he spoke his piece as me not being any fun anymore. T'Linna of course chimed right in scolding him for his remark to me. The statement of course from her was shrouded in fore thought as she had quickly guessed it to be better to stay on my good side than my bad side. turning to both I simply stated that neither flattery nor subterfuge would work...and my word stood. The expression and comment from Ms. Graham was somewhat surprising as she related to me their overall behavior was commendable indeed..."The little darling's" I think is how she phrased it. I had almost blurted out Little Darling's my eye, I had refrained as she took them from my lap. "Time to get cleaned up for dinner and bed shortly she stated as she sent them on their way.". We love you father rung out as they playfully scampered off towards the restroom and shower. I must admit you work very well with them Ms. Graham...I am impressed. Turning and quietly speaking as she nodded..."Sotak is the emotional one of the two you know". I looked on as she spoke. "Sotak I am sure was Hamming it up just for your sake". I thought for a moment as she grinned and recounted his adventures with his sister on the Porcine ship. I suppose you are correct...T'Linna is the spitting image of her mother, and apparently Sotak is more prone to emotional demonstrations like his father. We continued to converse for a short while until I had to break the conversation with Ms.Graham as I advised her the need to return to the bridge...I had only desired to insure both she and the twins had returned and were in good health...back to some semblance of normality...even for this ship. Computer....End Log:...Beep..! :P

  18. Deadly Dust Bunnies Tactical Officers Log: Eagle,James,T.Lt.Sg. U.S.S. Arcadia NCC-1742-E The meeting with Captain Lo Ami in Sam's office went well and all data from my research have been forwarded to the Science's/Medical department's and copy forwarded to engineering. In my preceding years prior to Arcadia...as A Physician I have never seen anything quite like this alien organism. After looking over the reports from the various effected departments and their experiences I initiated an in depth search of the historical medical and scientific archives of the Fleet. I vaguely remembered reading some past exploits and encounters from earlier ships of the line. The Enterprise under command of Capt. James T.Kirk came to mind and the report from the ships surgeon and doctor,Dr. McCoy. There had apparently been an incident while on mission. An encounter with an alien life form had similar results as we have been experiencing here on the Arcadia. The prompt for my research actually triggered by a comment from the science division. The comment indicated that exposure to ultra violet radiation in sufficient quantity should actually disable,or destroy this menace. The problem with the remedy and the crux of the matter lay within the solution ...How do we gain exposure to that type of radiation without literally burning ourselves to a crisp near a sun ?. The light went on as memories from medical school clicked. The resulting data retrieved may at least enable us to either destroy the alien spores or slow the progression of their infiltration and subsequent infection of the crew. I am sure between the Science dept.,and Medical dept. the proper wavelength and type of ultraviolet radiation can be established to prevent any injury to the crew as what occurred to the Chief Science Officer of the Enterprise. The Captain had ordered to proceed towards a viable solution to our dilemma working closely with the other departments. We must clearly pull together in this effort as the incidents are occurring more frequently and we dare not wait too long,or waste precious time. Time is the one thing we cannot allow to progress without action. Security and Engineering as well as the other departments are working towards a common goal to help isolate and possibly reduce the deadly dust from spreading as is humanly possible. We have our assigned task's to pursue...and time is clicking by second by second...minute by minute, our old friend may have turned into a foe. End Log:Beep! ;)
  19. Happy Birthday Capt. Sorehl,as well as others...the best of days to be sure.... :o
  20. Again, why humans use the recurrence of a particular position in their planet's sidereal orbit to commemorate events is... what else can I say? Illogical.... Because Mon Capitain...We ,or at least a majority of us all...actually love ya. ' I know this is a really unknown, often scrutinized, and disseminated point of view to a Vulcan. Suggestion: Enjoy, and accept it...It is an Honor.... :o
  21. Well, most satellites wouldn't remain over one fixed location. But if you have a handy-dandy GPS receiver, you can get your local coordinates from it, and that will give you a rough approximation on where their orbital paths cross over you. Unless you happen to be on the equator, where geostationary and -synchronous orbiting satellites orbit at 22,236 miles from the Earth.,...or deep within a multi-layered canopy jungle...that really tubes on a covert mission, from a 1971..ish experience.,even most recent as of 1982.!,... :o
  22. Falls along the same Lines in the mirror concept with "Kansas"...Heh...! :o
  23. Tis all true...Thank You Jami for the sharing... :o
  24. OH...Glory..the Spam,Spam,Spam...Oh glorius Spam...Spam...! LOL
  25. A Cessation Of Hostilities Tactical Officers log: Eagle, James,T.,Lt.Sg.,U.S.S. Arcadia NCC-1742-E The threat on Aether has been neutralized along with all her components and additional AI creations. The end came swiftly as the team that had been sent to infiltrate the system under control of the AI posing as our Science officer Sam Kent were abruptly brought back as the final sequence and surge designed to isolate and ultimately resulted in her destruction was sent. The primary concern of course related to our ability to initiate a recovery of the suns to strike a balance essentially slowing or reversing the their looming Nova state. The Captain and team on the inductor along with sciences on the ship managed to reconfigure the magnetic fields of the suns. The resulting reversal of the overcharging through the inductor had the desired effect..The Captain gave the order...I contacted Doctor Swan immediately and relayed the order to pull the team back. The resulting cascade of rotated energy frequencies did have the desired effect encapsulating the AI,shutting down any and all power feed to her...The final surge and viral program resulted in her demise. Sending engineering, science ,and medical teams to Aether to assist the stabilization of the station progressed without delay or interference. The security teams reported zero interference with all teams. Security on ship has been dispatched to sickbay to insure Mr.Phoenix remains under guard until Commander Marx finishes his investigation of Archie's role in the Aether fiasco. I would have rather seen a different solution to the situation faced in dealing with the AI...however lives and an entire system were in potential jeopardy at those same hands that had started this dilemma in the first place. A thorough and exhaustive diagnostic of Arcadia's systems and computers verify no damage resulting from the interfacing of the ship to Aethers systems,No potential viral threats existing or in dormancy in the core. The reoccurring thought continues to literally bug me as it pertains to Mr.Phoenix and his alleged part in the situation...the records are quite clear as to his original motives in the Caress center ,they were not of Samantha Kent to begin with. How the imaging and creation of Sam Kent's dopple ganger and the ensuing problem is baffling . The records indicate he was attempting to reconstruct Commander Alces. The crew is exhibiting the tell tale signs of fatigue as well, it has been quite some time since this ship and crew were not caught in the thick of things on a perilous mission in some part of the Galaxy. The ship is at 100% operational status, the corridors and decks are quite now as the hour is growing late. I am grateful the crews have returned from our little adventure for the most part intact. The "B" shift is well into duty shift and apparently discussing the possible advent of some type of shore leave in our future. I have had to suppress any humorous reaction to the crews as they came on shift as the words "Onward to Glorious Strife" come to mind..Computer end log...Beep.! :o
