  1. ::nods:: Every advanced sim, to my knowledge, has a welcome packet sent to simmers before they start on that sim. A welcome packet outlines not only setting and policies, but also expectations of an individual simmer. Some are more extesnive than others, but all have that kind of information. Here's an example that's on the message boards:

    USS Republic Introduction: http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=818

    USS Republic Sim Policies: http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=820

Perhaps the solution is to post our welcome packets in a certain area?

Not only is that on the boards, I believe I received a summary of both documents via email when I first joined the Republic. The first three (I think) documents posted on the NFS Reaent board are also in my inbox.

  2. You know why it looks so much like the Miranda class? The model they used when filming Cause & Effect was the very same model used of the Reliant in The Wrath of Kahn. They just accessorized it a bit.

Here is some more trivia about the Boseman:

The Captain, whos first name was Morgan - as in Captain Morgan - was played by Cheers actor Kelsey Gramar (Frasier). So you have a drunk playing a drunk. B)

It gets better than that. The original First Officer of the Boseman was supposed to be Saavik, as in Lt. Saavik from The Wrath of Kahn. Another Boseman-Reliant connection.

Still more: Lt. Saavik in The Wrath of Kahn was played by Kristi Alley, who later ended up with Kelsey Gramar on Cheers. Another Cheers-Trek connection.

The USS Boseman (and Kelsey Gramar) were to be heard from or mentioned again in All Good Things, Generations, and First Contact.

Speaking of First Contact, it supposedly took place in Boseman, Montana.

Anyway, Memory Alpha has a lot of interesting info about the ship.

The Bozeman was also caught in casualty loop with the Enterprise-D at one point.

Originally, the Bozeman was a Miranda class ship. It was refitted when it came forward through time and rechristened as a Soyuz class ship. B)

  3. I joined on June 16th, 2005, which I believe was a Friday. My first academy sim was that Saturday (June 17th) with Joe (He made me play an engineer. ;) ). I graduated just over a week later on Sunday June 25th. (graduated in the early acad) I was assigned to Republic in mid-July and had my first advanced sim on July 18th...promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade on October 11th (a week early too, lol). I joined the alternate Reaent around Halloween when it started up at the rank of Captain (equivalent to Starfleet lieutenant). So I've been a member here for about 6 and a half months. :P
