  3. You know...I always likes Gates McFaden (Pulaski was awesome though). I wish they would have done more with her, I really though she was an awesome actress. The skirts...oh....yes. And like I said...if I heard one more word about "The Prophets" this and "The Emissary" who and "The Occupation" I was going to scream. ^_^ And yeah Laeh...those brow ridges...they make N'Dak looks so unattractive.
  4. The USS Excalibur will not be offically meeting for Sunday, July 3. Those who wish to unoffically gather are welcome to attend, however there will be no formal simulation. Enjoy your weekend safely. ^_^

  6. This is the dead land This is cactus land Here the stone images Are raised, here they receive The supplication of a dead man's hand Under the twinkle of a fading star. Is it like this In death's other kingdom Waking alone At the hour when we are Trembling with tenderness Lips that would kiss Form prayers to broken stone. With the Balance of Terror in his grasp, Ah-Windu sat tapping his claws against the glass table top in the Ready Room of the USS Excalibur. The echoes reverberated across the walls making sharp singing noises as the sound waves bounced off the walls. With all the complexities and twists of this…affair… one question continued to daunt the Dameon—just what were the Romulans up to? On the surface, their motives looked as transparent as a Matarian Glass Jelly-Fish…but on the surface they were more opaque than vulcanized obsidian. The three Dominion Warships they had detected leaving orbit had only mucked up the situation more. What in the name of the one could they be hoping to achieve. Always in the darkness of subterfuge and hiding, Ah-Windu had never been one to be in command—directly. He preferred to be in the background carefully orchestrating the actions of others. His tenure as Captain of the Excalibur…the duration of this mission….would continue that way. Some commanding officers, he’d learned both from his experiences during the Dominion War , and at the Academy, liked to be at the very threshold of what was happening, and the event horizon. But not Ah-Windu. Not because he was afraid, not because he would put himself in danger…but because one can not think clearly in the heat of battle. His entire professional life had been spent planning for and preventing the very situation he found himself mucked up in; and it was certainly not someplace he waned to find himself in the midst. And if he…and for that matter the Federation planned to survive this, he would have to know exactly what tools were at his disposal. He glanced unceremoniously at the chrono on the desk. He’d given Graham and Chen one hour to do an impossible task, or nearly impossible…depending. A test of worth. Ah-Windu wanted to know what he was working with…clay or diamond. Both had their situational value, and both had their situational usages which normally determined the former. The Andorian works hard, and cares about the mission, he follow because of a sense of duty…though I am not quite sure why…he is after all not truly Andorian but more of a Science Project gone awry. Chen seems to follow out of fear of the claws. Corizon stopped in his exposition of the crew to admire his talons—some found them what stopped the Dameon people from being accepted within the homosapien only club that is the Federation, but he recognized a tool when he saw it, and felt it only fitting to use them for their psychological advantages. The wild cards. Corizon resumed examing. Many skeletons fill Mr. Xavier’s closet …quite literally. And the tendency towards self-autonomy—that can be dangerous. I will have to keep an eye…and ear on him. Then there is Doctor Delgado. The Vulcan, though she seems to have missed the lesson where she, as a proper green-blood, is overbearing and arrogant to a fault—but then she is only a quarter green-blood. I suppose I should be happy, but they do make for interesting arguments. They will be tried by fire. I know what the Doctor said, “Big Deal.” But I do not think that she realized the scope of this…affair. The balance of terror, the balance of power of the entire Galaxy lay in our hands. We have been sent on an errand by the One to ferret out those who oppose the Federation, those who oppose peace and justice. For now is the hour when we walk alone, just before the storm, when we walk in the dead land, in the shadows of a dying star. . Sober and dispassionate, Ah-Windu arose from his seated position. He gave a slight, sub-conscious tug on his uniform and glanced out the window at the moon the Excalibur. His pursed lips formed the silent words to an Ancient prayer, head bowed slightly, he turned exiting the Ready Room onto the Bridge. Status Report, Mr. Pilot?
  7. SHIP DATA -- U.S.S. EXCALIBUR NCC 2004 - B Computer access granted. Code ALPHA - GAMMA - 13372 verified and accepted. The following information is provided by the United Federation of Planets. In reference to the long range exploration vessel currently holding the registry of NCC-2004-B, Sovereign class. This information is sensitive and should not be discussed with persons outside Star Fleet Command. The U.S.S. Excalibur B is the second ship in its name sake. The predecessor to the B, a long range scientific vessel, Excelsior class, renamed the Lindbergh class for its unique features. Details on this class can be read in the "Ship's History" section of this document. The Excalibur A was experimental in its design, and now the Excalibur B has continued that tradition. The Excalibur B has been designed with all the standard features associated with the Sovereign class vessel, but has been given added features not available during the early models. The Sovereign class bridge has been modified from the early class starships and allows for, four major stations to become freestanding consoles. On the wall directly behind the commanding officer is a computer - linked schematic of the ship that is constantly updated. When on the bridge, the chief engineer can monitor activity in engineering, or initiate many engineering commands from this station. The crew member assigned to tactical stands at the freestanding console behind the captain, to his right as he faces the main view screen. To the right of tactical is another freestanding console, the science station. The crew member assigned to this station is seated. The con and Ops stations are still in their familiar positions at the front of the bridge; the crew member at con is responsible for navigation and piloting, and the Ops officer is responsible for allocating the ship's resources such as power, equipment, and personnel. Ship's sensors can also be read from this duty station. Control of the main computer can be locked out from the Ops position. The following is the technical data pertinent to the U.S.S. Excalibur NCC 2004 - B: Model Type: Mark IV- Enhanced Deterrence Explorer Date Constructed: 9902.28 Total Constructed: 2 Length: 685 Meters Beam: 240 Meters Height: 87 Meters Gross Weight: 3,500,000 tons Landing Capability: None Detachment Ability: None Computer Type: Mark 70 (Enhanced SISO) Automation Rating: 98% Transporters: 6 standard (6 person), 3 emergency (22 person), 2 cargo (20 metric tons) Transporter Range: 40,000 kilometer standard. 72,000 enhanced Crew Compliment: 350 (luxury), 550 (comfortable), 750 (standard) = 1650 total compliment Shuttle craft: 4 drone, 2 long-range (Type 9), 5 personal shuttle (Type 6), 2 experimental Maximum Speed: Maximum sustained velocity 9.9446 for 8 hours 13 minutes 17 seconds. Emergency Warp: Maximum emergency velocity 9.9995 for 4 hours 47 minutes 02 seconds. Armamament: Phaser Arrays: 12 primary arrays. Dorsal, Ventral, Pylon, Drive dorsal, Drive ventral and hull. Maximum plasma yield, 10.2 megawatts. Type XII Phaser. Torpedoes: 1 Rapid fire quantum torpedo tubes 4 Type 4 burst fire tubes 4 Standard photon torpedo tubes 250 Quantam torpedoes, 300 standard photon high yield torpedoes. Primary launch system located above deflector dish. Probes: 20 class V, 20 class VI, 20 class IX Shields: Standard graviton emitted, Reflective harmonic rotation and Metaphasic. Shield Capacity: 8.7 x 10e7 kW. Deflector Capacity: 1692 MW graviton load. There are many added features with the Excalibur B. There are two new shield subroutines integrated into the main computer core's central hub. One of which is already used by some vessels. This is Metaphasic shielding. Allowing Starships to enter areas of extreme temperatures not tolerated by normal graviton shielding. The other shield routine is Reflective shield rotation. This allows the shielding to modulate and compensate for tractor beams and other forms of energy weapons used for targeting or capture. The Excalibur B also has some internal modifications. The Bio-Neural Gel packs are compensated with Nanite packs. These packs help to offset repair functions controlled by the computer. They perform routine maintenance procedures on ODN and EPS conduits and allow for more accurate information and data when there are emergency situations. Nanite packs are not primary data networks and do not replace gel packs, but help to offset the gel packs when performing certain engineering functions. Our Holo-emitter system is also one of a kind. The ship is outfitted with holo-emitters that allow for emergency medical procedures, but also allow for modifications to key areas of bridge and crew stations. The holo-emitters allow for the console to be reconfigured in an instant to perform the function the bridge member needs. It not only reconfigures the outlay, but it also reconfigures the internal circuitry and processors that are needed for the task at hand. The latest in designs for computer cores has also been implemented in this class vessel. The SISO system is designed for more automation of ship functions and uses a bipolar isolinear positronic matrix for the processor. It allows for more computations then standard computer cores and relieves most of the automated functions needed for emergency situations. Additionaly, the Excalibur-B has been fitted with a Romulan-Designed, Federation Built Romulan Cloaking Device for usage in the Gamma Quadrant. As of SD 0508.07, the USS Excalibur-B has been ordered to be towed to Antares Shipyard in the Gamma Quadrant pending mothballing. =/\= =/\= =/\= =/\= =/\= =/\= =/\= =/\= =/\= =/\= Ship's History: U.S.S. EXCALIBUR NCC-2004-A United Alliance of Planets Star Fleet Long Range Exploration Division Star Fleet Command The upgraded "Excelsior"-type deep-space exploration vessel of the "Lindbergh" class completed test trials on Stardate 9209.22 under the auspices of Star Fleet Engineering, Commander Onibur SkyWalker in command. The Lindbergh Class prototype was fundamentally identical to the Excelsior Class in primary and secondary structure and layout, a class which has seen service for 88 years. This particular production model incorporated the Galaxy-Type VII warp drive nacelles and power generation units and an upgraded structural integrity field generator. The Lindbergh Class prototype was also equipped with a modular-type bridge, fitted with a Galaxy-B category bridge module and computer interface. This highly popular and successful command center type was to be the standard for all future designs. Following was pertinent ship data re USS Excalibur NCC 2004-A Model Type: Mark II Date Constructed: 9201.30 Total Constructed: 1 Length: 511 meters Beam: 196 m Height: 89 m Gr. Weight: 339,645 metric tons Cargo Units: 140 SCU Cargo Capacity: 19,000 mt Landing capability: None Detachment Capability: Emergency Only Starbase facilities required to reattach main hull with secondary unit. See below. Computer Type: Upgraded M-15 Automation Rating: 92 percent Transporters: 4 standard (6 person), 3 emergency (22 person) 2 cargo Transporter Range: 2.3 standard A.U. Crew: 385 Passengers: 120 Shuttlecraft: 14 (4 drone, 2 high capacity, 5 two-person, 1 warp , 2 attack-type experimental). Maximum Speed: Warp 9.743 Emergency Speed: Warp 9.99875 for 199 milliunits only Weapon Data: Classified (consult technical journal) Shield Power: 20 x 3/3 FSS Type modified Deflector Power: 16 x 1/3/2 Standard deflector Other data: The auxiliary bridge was relocated in center-hub at the central computer core. An alternate auxiliary bridge was also placed in the engineering hull and configured as a tactical center. Because of the planned scientific and exploratory nature of ship assignment, upgraded medical and laboratory facilities plus an entire planetary sciences division and xenobiology unit were installed. Power storage modifications also extended the ship's effective time/range ratio by x.6/3 plus supplement shield and sensor capabilities (see above data for specifications). More information on the Upgraded Excelsior/Lindbergh Class vessel and exploration modifications can be found in Spacefleet Publication 4/4654.92. Certain operational capabilities of the prototype Lindbergh Class starship are still classified by order of Spacefleet Operations. Special modular units were incorporated for easy exchange of critical engineering components and the addition of supplementary scientific, engineering and tactical equipment. An additional pylon hardpoint was installed for testing of a third pylon/nacelle unit. The modification was left intact as future, long range missions may dictate for additional warp power. The additional conduit/pylon hard point attachment was available to configure the main hull section for autonomous warp power and operations in an emergency detachment. NOTE: The Lindbergh Class prototype was NOT equipped for routine saucer separation. The saucer section could separate ONLY in extreme emergency for use as a lifeboat and could sustain impulse speeds and life support for periods of up to 120 days depending on fuel and expendable depletion levels above optimal ratings. Once detached, reattachment could be accomplished ONLY at a specially equipped Spacefleet maintenance facility.
  8. or both :P....Great Log Guys
  9. ::smirks:: The Star Trek Requirement is really the kicker in all of this....hmmm... I can rattle a few...suitable locations, but I am unsure of their Trek Worthiness...I'll have to check for certain though...so here's a preliminary list, in no real order. Atlantic City Ocean City Charlotte, NC New Orleans (Ha! Sisko's BP! and Seafood to boot!) Myrtle Beach I'll continue to ruminate on this list, and make additions or subtractions based on my Trek-worthy findings, but all of the above should meet most of the requirements.

  24. Ah-Windu Corizon stood on the observation deck of the USS Lotus as it approached the Starbase Camelot and the Avalon system. War, or the threat of war, seemed to control his destiny. A few days ago he had been happily stationed at Earth developing knew contingency plans for a possible withdrawal from Cardassia Prime. Then he had been contacted by Vice-Admiral Nugira, his commanding officer. He was being reassigned. Apparently the Romulans and the Dominion weren’t playing well together, and it was threatening the fragile peace between the major powers. Ah-Windu scratched behind his ears as the star field infront of him whizzed by. He wasn’t entirely comfortable with his new assignment—he didn’t know the first thing about Admiral Wayne Day, nor any of the crew. He’d never been staioned on a Starship, let alone be the first officer of one. He’d been quite happy in his ‘desk’ job, however, it seemed Nugira or fate…depending on your interpretation had other ideas for him. Corizon sighed to himself as he leaned against the window. “Talk about trial by fire,” he said to himself. It was not as if his first job on starship was going to be easy either. The Federation had been put in a most precarious situation by the Romulans. They had invaded a native system of the Gamma Quadrant , one that had been important enough to the Dominion 50 years ago to send the Jem’Hadar in. For some reason though, the Vorta Council had yet to react to the situation, which troubled Corizon even more. Then there was the Armante situation. In his position at ATAG he’d been able to access most of the material involving both Camelot and Excalibur, and that little gem of data had nearly sent Corizon through the roof. How dare the Romulans act as if the prisoner was their sole property. Although he did have to admit, it was an ingenious way to disguise their battle fleet, and enough of a distraction to allow for their operation. Again he sighed to himself, just another item on the list of issues that he would be confronting. His train of thought was interrupted by a hissing of the door. “Commander,” the voice of a young Ensign called out. “Yes,” Corzion said turning, his hears standing straight up at attention. “We’re almost to the Avalon system,” the young ensign said. “The Captain thought you’d like to know, sir.” Corizon examined the Ensign for a few moments before he said anything at all. “Thank you,” he said turning back to the window. Unsure of what to do, the Ensign stood there for a few minutes. Corizon sighed, dropping his ears to either side. “Dismissed.”
  25. Your Racism disturbs me ^_^ Great Log!
