  5. From what I understand, the oldest daughter has really bad allergies. So I would pick a Golden Doodle. Silly name I know. But it's a mix between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. Apparently this breed is hypo-allergenic. And I really should read other's posts more carefully. I pretty much just repeated what Seiben said. :P
  6. I guess to make a similar comparison, look at the Transformers. When pictures began to float around of the new looks, hardcore fans about had a fit. But they eventually accepted it, and the new movie turned out to be a great success. I guess we can only hope for the same in this case.

  9. It was a dark and stormy day on Rigel III. The rain was coming down hard and heavy. Not the kind of day to be out, but unfortunately for Captain Rex Kohler, he was. He was a dark haired man, save for the streaks of grey along the sides of his head. His Imperial Uniform was drenched from the rain, and his mood seemed to match perfectly with the weather. “How dare he…” Kohler mumbled to himself. “Taking orders from an admiral almost half my age. I should be the admiral, not him…” As the angry captain walked, he came to the taxi station. And as the rain hardened he saw a lone girl waiting, shivering in the rain. Rex scowled. He wasn’t about to stand in the rain forever. As the next taxi arrived, he stormed up, pushing the girl away as she was about to get inside. “Hey!” shouted the girl. Rex simply laughed as the door shut. That had felt good to him. The girl, with an odd smirk on her face, walked away from the small station. When she was a safe distance away, she pulled a small device from her pocket. With the quick press of a button, the taxi shuttle exploded into a ball of fire. Without looking back the girl walked off, smiling. One down… -------------------------------------------------------- Two days later, Lieutenant Commander Saul Masters was sitting at a desk on the bottom floor of Admiral Chase Stenson’s elaborate office. He was the aide to the admiral, a younger man roughly 35 years old. The office normally was really quiet, but today there was a big shouting match between Masters and a girl, presumably his girlfriend. After causing the girl to run away in tears, Saul looked to the only witness to the event. “What do you want?” A mysterious woman sat quietly in a seat along the wall, dark shades covering her eyes. “You should be nicer to the ones you love.” The man chuckled, “I don’t love her. She’s just a trophy to me. Now do you want something, or do I need to have security escort you out.” The woman sighed as she stood up from her seat, reaching into her pocket. “Fine…” She pressed down on something, not revealing what it was. But as she moved to the door, Masters reached down and touched his console. In that instant there was a bright flash as massive amounts of raw power surged through his body, smoked poured from his uniform. The woman didn’t look back, only smirked as she exited the building. Two down… -------------------------------------------------------- Days later, sounds of immense pleasure erupted from behind the door of a hotel suite. Loud moans and screams intensified as it appeared it reached a climax, they soon gradually died down. Inside, Kairi lay nude upon a soft bed. Her partner Admiral Chase Stenson still laid on top of her, the woman’s legs wrapped around his lower body with a silk sheet loosely covering his tight butt. Kairi, soaked in sweat, while the man strangely was not, smiled an exhausted grin. “Well what now?” she said, still panting. Chase, who was a young man for an admiral, took his strong muscular arms and pinned the woman’s above her head. He was using quite a bit of force. “Now we wait for my security teams to come for you. Did you really think I wouldn’t figure who you were?” “I guess you are not as dumb as some people think you are,” replied Kairi with a grin. She didn’t resist him pinning her at all. She actually thought it was a little kinky. “You may have killed my assistants, but I knew who you were the moment I saw you. You won’t be killing me,” Chase said with great confidence. “Oh Sweetie…” said Kairi, a little playful tone. “I’ve already killed you…While it is true I didn’t get near your drink earlier, I did pay off your most trusted bartender. He slipped a little something in your drink.” She gave a playful pout as the man obviously looked confused. “And as far as your security goes, when you made your little call, I had an automated response device answer. No one is coming…” “You lie!” Chase growled, adding more pressure to his grip. “I feel perfectly fine…” “Do you?” Kairi glanced at his skin, then at her own, glistening with sweat. “I’m surprised you didn’t notice by now, but after such an exhausting tango we just did, you should have been drenched like me. Oh you poor, cute little man. The poison didn’t take affect right away. It needed a strong adrenaline boost to kick in.” A huge grin came across the Rebel’s lips. “And what bigger adrenaline boost is there, other than sex?” “I…I…” Chase knew he had words, but for some reason they just couldn’t come out. Kairi gave an expression of comfort as she looked up at the face of her now latest victim. She spoke softly to him. “Don’t worry. Unlike the others you will feel no pain at all. Your vocal cords are the first to become paralyzed, followed closely by the slow degradation of muscle strength…” Stenson’s grip on Kairi’s arms slowly weakened. Eventually he was even unable to hold himself up, as his head rested between the woman’s breasts. Kairi, her arms now freed, rested one on top of the admiral’s head, slowly running her fingers through his hair. “It’ll be alright…” Her other hand roamed back and forth along his back. After a few moments of comforting the now fully paralyzed admiral, Kairi rolled both of them over, letting her come out on top. She sat along the edge of the bed, running her hand along Stenson’s chest. His eyes were wide open as the rest of his body remained motionless. Small wisps of breath came in and out of his mouth. Leaning down from the bed, the woman grabbed her black, lacey panties. Placing them at her ankles she slowly pulled them up her legs, fitting them snuggly in place. The bra was soon to follow. Finally after a few moments, Kairi was now fully clothed in a black silky dress. Black shoes and a matching handbag topped off her accessories. She sat back upon the bed and with two fingers, checked the pulse of Chase. His heartbeat slowed to a crawl. The man was already brain dead. The body was just going through it’s last few cycles before it stops too. Reaching into her purse, Kairi pulled out a small data chip. She then opened the admiral’s mouth, placing the chip inside. After closing, she softly leaned in and gave the man one last kiss before rising from the bed. “Goodbye Chase…” Three down… As Kairi exited the eerily quiet suite, she reached into her purse once more. This time, gripping what looked to be the handle of a small disruptor. “Time to pay the bartender a visit. Then it will be mission accomplished…”

You're safe for now Cori. :P
  12. Happy Birthday Kitty! ::Presents a laser pointer with a cute bow on it.:: :D
  13. Owen had just crawled out from under a large pile of debris where he suspected someone might still be stuck. Now he was reaching back inside to pull out the body he had found. The space had been to cramped to carry the man. Right now all Owen wanted to do is get back on the ship, take a long, hot shower and try to forget what he'd seen. Such hopeless search and rescue missions were one thing on alien planets but this was Earth...home. No training in the universe could prepare you for something like this. He quickly looked around for Kairi who was standing just a few feet away. A slight moan came from the engineer as she turned away from Owen and the body. The smells would haunt any humanoid, but for Kairi's physiology, it was unbearable. A tear slid down her cheek as she took a deep breath through her mouth. Despite what was happening, Kairi couldn't stop. She could be the difference between someone living, or turning out like the body Matthews recovered. Owen had noticed Kairi's distress. He wasn't empathic like her but it was apparent how she felt about this mission. Quite honestly, he wasn't feeling very differently. However, his training helped him get the job done and not be bothered with the emotional consequences until it was over. He wiped his hands on his filthy pants and joined the engineer. Putting a hand on her shoulder he softly said: "Do you need to take a break? I can work alone for a while." Her shoulders sank at his touch, but she simply shook her head. "No. I need to do this..." She closed her eyes as she tried to focus. The crackling of fire, structural failure of buildings, and wind blowing dust and debris along the ground were among the things she heard. But there were no signs of life, save for the beating heart of Owen. Kairi sighed, as her own heart sank. "I...I can't hear anyone..." Owen nodded. "That's ok, we'll find them anyway." He knew how Kairi felt. The smell of burning flesh lay heavy in the air. Piles of debris, once neat buildings, were towering everywhere. It would have been impossible to make out where streets had once been since they were covered with even more debris. It was a miracle how anyone could have survived here. And yet they had already found a couple dozen survivors. "Just think of those we're pulling out of there alive. It's worth it, trust me." Kairi slowly moved forward, cringing as she stepped with her bad leg. Concentrating once more, she listened. "Wait..." She closed her eyes once more as she focused on one area. It was faint, but she thought she heard a scream among the sounds of a creaking building. "There! Someone is over there!" Kairi quickly pointed. He looked in the direction Kairi had indicated. All he could see was another pile of rubble with a small part of a wall still standing upright. The rest of the building had been completely destroyed. As he moved closer he noticed the distinct smell of blood and the telltale sweetish smell of decay which had become more and more distinct over the last few hours. It was not surprising. This was Sydney, it was summer. The sun was shining hot and mercilessly. It was only a matter of time until scavengers would poke around, attracted by the smell of death, trying to get a piece of this feast. The thought was almost unbearable even for Owen. They needed to hurry! "Can you give me a bit of a more exact location?" "I think they are underneath." She was hesitant to move much, due to her leg. Sighing Owen climbed the pile and looked for a way to get underneath without being buried himself. For what seemed the 100th time he started to move large pieces of debris to get to whoever might be underneath. His uniform was already soaked in sweat and filthy with dust. His hands were covered in bruises and when he put down the piece of wall he had been lifting he could see blood where his hands had been. He couldn't remember being so sore since marine basic. Trying to ignore all this he kept working his way through the rubble. Suddenly an arm appeared underneath a piece of steel he had just managed to move. "I found someone," he called out before crouching down and reaching into the hole to touch the hand and feel for a pulse. "He's alive! He's alive! Sir, can you hear me?" he called out in excitement. "C'mon Kairi, give me a hand." Kairi hurried towards Owen, trying her best to ignore her own pain. "Ahhh!" she screamed as she fell at Owen's feet. Her knee had just about enough. She rolled over, grabbing at it. But the engineer bit her bottom lip, fighting the pain as she scooted the rest of the way up to Owen. Tears streaming her face, she reached down to help the man. Owen acted immediately as Kairi fell. He reached out his hand and helped her get to him. Only now did he notice the tears. He decided not to comment on it for now. Their priority was to help the man. He crawled into the small space he had made earlier and moved some more bricks and a few larger pieces of debris. A few minutes later Kairi and Owen had managed to extract the man's head and shoulders. Owen attached a tag to the man's shirt and commed the ship so they'd beam him up. When he had climbed back out of the hole he turned to Kairi. "Sit down,” he said curtly, making clear that this wasn't just a polite request. Not having the energy to argue, Kairi sat back, but she looked away from Owen. He didn't have a medical tricorder but Owen didn't need one right now to know that Kairi was probably not in a condition to be out here. He whipped out a knife and cut open the pant leg up to Kairi's knee and examined it. The bruises were hard to miss and the joint was swollen. Owen was kneeling in front of her and looked up, trying to catch her eyes. "Why didn't you tell me you were injured?" "Because..." She still tried to avoid eye contact. "They need me..." Owens shook his head. "Maybe, but you need to take care of yourself first. You can't help anyone out here when you're hurt like this. I'll take you back to the ship. One of the doctors needs to take a look at this. There's nothing I can do to help, really." With that he got up and held out a hand. "Come on, I'll help you up." The stubbornness started to come out in Kairi, as she refused to take his hand. She folded her arms, this time looking right at him. "No. I'm not leaving." "Listen, now is not the time to argue. You're right, these people need us and that's why we have to make sure we can help them. How long do you want to wait before you get treated? Until I have to carry you to sickbay because you can't walk anymore? In case you haven't noticed, this isn't a stroll in the park." Owen knew it wasn't fair to take his frustrations out on Kairi but even under normal circumstances he already wasn't a very patient person. Now the strain began to show and Kairi's attitude didn't improve his mood one bit. "I can't...I won't leave them!" She gave a cold glare right at Owen. She would fight him if she had to, bad knee or not. Running a hand over his face Owen sighed. "Let's try to be reasonable, ok? We'll both beam up to the ship, go to sickbay. You get your knee checked out and I'll get something for my hands." He showed her his bloody palms. "And then we'll get back down here.” Kairi looked at Owen's bloody hands and her defenses dropped. "But..." she frowned as she looked out at the remains of the city. "I don't want to leave them..." "It's only for a while...an hour maybe two...until you get treated." He got down onto his knees and looked at her. "We've been at this for how long...5 hours 6? We can't keep going until we collapse cause then we'll be no use for them. C'mon." Finally giving in, Kairi took Owens hand. She was still reluctant to leave, but knew it was for the best. "Alright..." Owen tapped his commbadge. "Matthews to Agincourt. Two to beam up." He took one last glance over the destroyed city before he dematerialized.
  14. Agincourt kind of keeps with the timeline. We're set 20 years in the future. We sometimes see an aged Excalibur and doggy. Not to mention N'Dak somehow managed to stay alive. :P
  15. If you like petting zoos, then Excalibur is a great place for you. B) I'm now involved in 5 sims, and I can tell you that each one has unique qualities that make them great. Just go with whatever you feel is good for you.
  16. Owen walked out of the shuttle bay right behind Kairi. He decided to set things straight with her right away. He wasn't sure whether he'd get around to it later anyway. Catching up with her he took a deep breath and tried to keep his voice level. "Commander Kassem, would you have a minute?" Kairi turned towards the voice of the marine. In the corner of her eye, she watched as Javin walked past through the doors. He had stopped to see if the Chief was coming, but figured she would catch up. She then looked at Owen, "Yes, Lt?" Owen stopped walking a turned to face Kairi. "What exactly did you think you were doing back there?" He had never been someone to waste words on politeness so he came right to the point. Kairi's expression quickly turned sour. "Excuse me?" "You know very well what I'm talking about, Commander. I was ordered on that mission not to be your pilot but to ensure your safety. You undermined my authority...in front of other crewmembers and during a negotiation with a potentially hostile party." Owen was definitely not happy. He didn't take such things well especially not when he thought he was right. "Undermine? I undermined you?" Kairi was temper was beginning to flare uncharacteristically. "What about you undermining me, Lt? Yes you were there to ensure our safety. But you weren't there to run your mouth at every opportunity and potentially scare off a possible contact." "Whoa...I run my mouth at...! I don't believe this. All I asked was for someone to scan what that woman handed us to make sure it didn't pose a threat. Had I acted on my instincts and gone by the book, she would never have gotten around to giving us that chip. What if she had draw a weapon? What if this chip had turned out to be some kind of bomb and exploded in our faces? Did you ever consider that trusting her put us at a considerable risk?" Owen couldn't believe what he was hearing. He didn't understand how a Starfleet Officer could be so naive. "You seem to forget where we are Mr. Mathews? This entire thing isn't a normal situation." She looked the marine dead level in the eyes. "We have no choice to trust people here, even if it goes against natural or trained instincts. Paranoia has no place here on this ship right now." "Oh, I'm sorry that I'm trying to keep us alive out here. Even if we have to trust where usually we wouldn't, I'm not prepared to put anyone at risk when it's not necessary. You're lucky nothing went wrong on this mission! For heaven's sake...this is not a trip to Risa. Those people are generally out to get us and that we happen to be of use to them right now doesn't mean they'll shoot us as soon as we turn our backs. Call me paranoid or even crazy but I like to get home alive." Owen had a hard time to keep himself from shouting. He gestured wildly to illustrate his points. It was obvious he was angry. Kairi quickly got closer to Owen after that last comment. She too was trying not to shout. "And you think I don't want to go home?" Owen didn't back away and kept eye contact. "You, Commander, were taking unnecessary risks and quite frankly, I don't like being treated like I don't know my job. And I don't care what rank you have." "Do you treat all officers like this Lt, or is it because I'm wearing a different uniform?" "This is not a Starfleet Marine thing. I just like officers, Fleeters or Marines, to respect me the way I respect them. And I will give everyone a piece of my mind if I think it's necessary. Granted, among marines we handle this a little differently." Kairi resisted commenting on the last sentence. It wasn't her place to question how the marines work their problems out. She lowered her voice as she spoke, trying to be calmer. "You have to give to receive Owen," going on a less formal first name basis. "Oh, I think I missed something out there. Remind me...did I question any of your orders back in the shuttle or was it you telling me to...and I'll quote..."Get back to your station, Lieutenant!” You know, things like that usually don't sit well with people. I've probably been on this job longer than you have. My former assignment ended when my ship, along with half of its crew blew up. How about next time you try to trust my judgment?" "I only yelled after you previously ignored me. And don't you dare lecture me on losing people." "I did not ignore you. Did I scan the chip? No...Against my better judgment by the way. Did I search the Selshan? No, I didn't...against my better judgment. I'm not lecturing you; I'm just saying that I do know what I'm doing." "I scanned the chip. It was exactly what the Selshan said it was, simply information. I'm not going to lie to you and tell you I wasn't scared when she beamed onto the shuttle. Why she couldn't simply contact us through normal means is a little different than how we handle things. Maybe it's the way her people operate, I don't know. But we have to adapt as well. And I stick with my decision." “You still treated me like a private who's just out of the academy. I've been on the job for years. I've been in combat and I've already handled situations similar to our recent mission. Now, I'm not saying you're inexperienced or anything. But I have some good advice for you. If someone is assigned to your team in order to ensure its' safety it is usually not such a bad idea to rely on his judgment for safety issues. I was assigned to the mission for a reason. Adapting to the circumstances might be a good idea, being reckless isn't." Owen relaxed a bit and took a step backwards so that people who'd happen to walk by might actually think they were having a normal conversation. Kairi sighed as she relaxed a little, playing with her hair. "I'm sorry...But can we both agree that we each did things wrong?" Owen grinned at Kairi's question. "Hey, I'm the last person to claim I'm always right. If you got a problem with me...come to talk to me. I know we marines don't have the reputation of being good listeners but I think I can make an exception for you." She gave a little smirk at the marine as she looked at him. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Buddha nodded. "Now, ma'am, if you'll excuse me. I've got a report to write. Thank you for taking the time." Kairi smiled as she watched the marine. "Not a problem..."
