  1. Yay! Shadow! ^_^
  2. Party in engineering next week. I'll try and keep Murray away from all the desserts. ;)
  3. Yeah I was a bit disappointed with the premiere, but I'm not gonna make any big judgement calls just yet. After all, it is just the first episode. I want to see a few more episodes before I can say whether I like or hate it. To me most good/great shows don't do so hot right away. They get better as the show and actors age and adjust to their roles. To be honest, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and ENT all had their moments in the beginning. It wasn't till later when they really began to shine.
  4. \ I don't see how this is cause to freak out about remaking Wrath of Khan. They just said that their lives were altered, not that they were going to actually make a movie about it.
  5. Yay Kitty! :P I keep forgetting yours is so close to mine.
  6. Yay Sam! Happy Birthday! ::Skitter delivers a cupcake with a candle in it.:: :)
  7. We could always use another CJAN. :(
  8. Starfleet and most Federation worlds would typically use phasers. And in many non-Federation worlds would use mainly disruptors or other type of energy weapon. That doesn't mean that projectile weapons are not used. In the seventh season of Deep Space Nine, there is an episode that involved projectile sniper rifles. I can't remember much of the conversation and such, so I can't tell you if this was standard issue. But I do remember it was heavily modified (As in able to transport the bullet through walls.)
  9. The question isn't if it's ok with us if he watches. The question is if YOU are ok with him watching. It'd drive me nuts having someone over my shoulder. :P Welcome btw.
  10. They tried making a more story driven movie once. It was called The Motion Picture, and it failed. They hit paydirt thought when they came out with Wrath of Khan. But anyways the point is, the first movie is just the set up for better things to come. I'm pretty sure someone already said that. No offense, but the old Enterprise looked like a frisbee attatched to three toilet paper rolls with a satellite dish on front of one. I thought the new Enterprise was absolutely gorgeous. It's the Cadilac of the Starfleet. :)
  11. Um...right... :)
  12. Hiya. Here's an example of the species that I created for the Arcadia (previously mentioned by Kansas.) Daena This might give you a slight idea of what a GM might be looking for if you decide to make your own race. It can get pretty detailed, and you'd definately want a way to tie it into the Federation, Starfleet, the universe, etc. If I may, and this is only a suggestion, I would stick with a canon race for your first advanced sim. Then if you decide to add another sim under your belt, then maybe you could make your own race. But like I said, just a suggestion. :)
  13. It helped that Spock's dad happened to be there too. ;)
  14. Hiya. Here's a few links to check out, which you may find useful. How To Tips From the Moose Memory Alpha Ex Astris Scientia As far as race, bios, etc. You don't have to worry about that stuff till after you are assigned to your first advanced sim. Everyone is human at the academy (even graduated players that like to stop in.) With a few exceptions. I know every once in a while there is an all Romulan academy sim and maybe a few others. The reason we do this is it's easier to keep track of (GM and player wise) and it keeps the sims simple. If you have any other questions feel free to ask anyone. ;)
  15. That was a cool scene, but I even got bigger goosebumps when the ship emerged from Titan.
  16. Heh. For some reason at the end when they pin that medal on him, I was waiting for a Wookie to roar and everyone shoot to attention.
  17. I think you just answered yourself. ;)
  18. I don't think it matters which series you look at, the Orions have always looked like it was just green makeup.
  19. Would you settle for Australia? btw, loved it! I won't say much, cause everyone pretty much covered everything. But I must have been in a theatre with no Trek fans. Cause when they showed the shuttle scene where Sulu and Kirk were sitting there, then they pan out to the guy in red...I was the only one cracking up. ;)

  21. Hiya. Most if not all advanced sims have a guideline and policy packet in their little forum on the board. So if you have any questions, you may be able to find what you are looking for there. Otherwise feel free to ask around. And I'm a Human/Romulan, so I'm a little biased to your question. ;)
  22. First of all, snakes freak me out... :D Second, If the snakes were still on there when they fumigated...can you imagine the nasty smell the plane will get in a couple days? They'd have to cancel more than two flights to fix that one...
  23. Hey, didn't they auction off most of the stuff after it was closed?
  24. (Since I hadn't done any Word of the Week logs yet, you guys get a two for one.) The hotel room was dimmed, soothing to Kairi as she walked from the kitchenette to the front room. A black silk teddy adorned her body and a lace see through robe wrapped over it flowed as the rebel assassin moved. She certainly wasn’t dressed as a tatterdemalion. A glass of spirits rested in one hand and a PADD in the other. Kairi took a seat in a big leather chair, a large viewscreen a couple feet away tuned into this planets local news reports. But it wasn’t the viewscreen that currently had the former Imperial officer’s attention. It was the report on the PADD. Kairi took a sip of her drink as she began reading about the recent events on Sigma ch’Fhaevan. It seemed that the ISS Agincourt had recently responded to the presence of the rebellion in the colony’s main city. What was more intriguing was who lead the charge. Security? Did she read that right? A large grin emerged on the lips of the Romulan Rebel. Harper must have underestimated the resistance to send in Imperial Security instead of the Marines. Kairi read further as she stopped on one name, running her fingers along the letters lightly. The name read Commander M’rrett Sh’aow JoNs, known as Kansas by those close to her. The thought of Kansas being there intrigued the assassin the most. She skimmed through the rest of the report, yearning to find out if the Commander had survived. A sigh of relief came across the Romulan as she read the casualty list. Kansas was not on there, but she did recognize one of the names, Master Chief Keltex. She frowned. Kairi didn’t know the old Klingon soldier personally, but she did know Kansas was close to him. This subconsciously made Kairi a little sad. She began to wonder how the Caitian was feeling right now. But that was broken up by the viewscreen. “We now bring you the latest on something we first reported to you earlier. It seems a large troop transport, full to capacity with the finest Imperial Soldiers, has crashed during take off. In the process, the transport wiped out the control tower and central barracks to the launch facility. All hands were lost on board the transport as well as many honorable officers and soldiers on the ground. The death toll is currently estimated in the hundreds, and is likely to increase to thousands once rescue and salvage teams finish their investigations.” “The cause of this tragic accident is currently unknown. It was rumored that this particular transport was to be part of an anabasis to quell resistance forces in local star systems. Some speculate this tragedy was work of said resistance, but the authorities are yet to make any statements. We will bring you more as it comes available to us.” The broadcast seemed to put Kairi into a better mood. She began to go through the event in her head, wondering if the local investigators would even be able to figure out how the transport was rigged to crash. Thruster controls can be real sensitive during atmospheric take off. Even the slightest thousandth of a degree off in alignment can send the ship off balance, especially when the computer doesn’t know anything is wrong. The Rebel gave a slight giggle as she lay back in her soft chair, taking a sip of her drink. The rest of the room was quiet now as the viewscreen was deactivated. The glow of the city outside added to the ambience as she relaxed into her own thoughts. “What now?” said the softest whisper in her ear. Crash! Silence was broken as the drink glass hit the floor.
  25. Hiya! Hope to see you around.
