Despite being on Earth, his life was rough..he mainly had to maintain agricultural equipment as teem..and found out he was rather good at it. Following the path of his eldest Brother Dimitri, he pursued an career in Starfleet. Served under on the IKC/Qob Lakota on her historic return to Qo`nos. Koralev was not a noticble presence onboard until an altercation with another Klingon officer well into the trip home. Reportedly severed Lagh Prekip's arm in hand to hand combat (SEE SECURITY FILE 314; MEDICAL FILE 911). Underwent manditory psychological evaluation by Qel Garnoopy, deemed fit for duty. Having gained a notority Koralev did not want, he tried to involve himself deep in engineering. But failed, being involved in several altercations resulting in multiple MRF visits. (See MEDICAL FILE 123 -Qob). Created Holographic Klingon Cow Combat Program, a cult favorite in some circles of the Klingon fleet having purportedly been responsible for the death of several Klingon warriors. (PROGRAM STATUS-UNKNOWN) Koralev was forced out of Starfleet by SFHQ after the Qob's return upon the revelation Koralev executed 12 Klingon engineers (SEE IKC VORT FILE 66), who were caught attempting to destroy the Qob covertly. The Klingons involved were found soon after to be enemies of the Empire by High Councilmember Konath who insisted Koralev be released from Federation custody, threatening diplomatic action against Federation. A special Federation Ambassador was assigned to the situation, and was able to resolve the situation with Koralev agreeing to join the Klingon Defence Forces under Konath's oversite. Boris Koralev became the first known human to undergo the Rite of Ascension, becoming a member of the House of Konath. Assigned to the uprated IKC Qob as an assistant engineer stardate. 0412.14. NOTE: FURTHER RECORD INQUIRIES ARE TO BE SENT TO KLINGON FLEET INFORMATION, QO`NOS.
  2. Personal Log "Snapped" Ensign Boris Koralev Engineer IKC Qob It's been moments after my fight with my superior..Engineer Prekip. My arm is a mess after hitting Prekip in the jaw, and I know I am missing a couple of teeth after being hit in the face by my superior. ::sighs:: I have failed as a Federation Officer. For years I have tolerated Prekip and other Klingons in order to fullfill my oath to the Federation..despite not being on a Federation Starship. I am a Starfleet officer, I should be better than what actions I took today. Prekip wasn't seeing what I was seeing..a problem with the Qob's ramscoops. I felt it could not be ingored for the crew's saftey. He thought otherwise. This wasn't the Starfleet way to handle a dispute between your superior and yourself! I cannot believe I fought the Klingon in front of the Hod and her senior staff herself! What was I thinking...I am no Klingon! ::grabs arm:: I certainly am not built like one either. He had to mention my Mother...If Prekip didn't say anything about her, this would not of happened. He doesn't know and I sure as heck do not want to talk about her right now. What a mistake I have made. It can all go downhill from here I feel. No doubt Prekip will be back, with friends to return the uppercut I gave him. Stupid me..fighting a Klingon...Humans aren't built for it. ::touches jaw and winces:: End log.
  3. Perhaps I should change my name to dead man walking? Precip Security Ensign USS Hood
  4. If I recall correctly the first person to die on TNG (Encounter at Farpoint) was a Redshirt. And it was an intentional tip of the hat to the original series. STMAG did a funny study on which color uniforms led the fatality count. (now if I can find it!) Precip
  5. Well, I like reading about History, Some Tom Clancy Novels. I collect ST Cards. Also...I collect books and toys regarding ships from Star Trek and Star Wars. I am interested in Meteorology...hence the username. Precip
  6. Keep up the fight HD...we`re rooting for you! Precip
  7. Hey, Fred is right with the canon stuff. There are enough oddball tidbits in Games and Novels to proablably create an A-Z list of Starfleet Classes. The easiest and...most accepted approach is to go by the television series that are on TV. There are even inconsistencies in the so called "reference books" such as the Star Trek Encyclopedia or The DS9 technical manual. Yet without those...few reference books..I suppose I wouldn't know the name of my favorite class ..Akira! Precip
  8. Personal Log "Stealth" Lt Mitar Precip Tactical Officer USS Manticore Stardate 50308.06 The Cylindrical Gravity Generator concealed the hastily assembled "Rescue" team of 12 including Precip in a somewhat confined Zero-G environment. The Romulans gave no chance to select the team, so the Bolian was surrounded by elements of different departments. All had time to grab a Phaser Rifle, experimental MPDs and Personal Cloaking Devices (PCDs) and perhaps a tricorder and that was it. The plan sounded simple...lay low..rescue the Admiral in distress..and proceed to retake the Manticore. The Bolian knew better, for he knew nothing of what had happened in the two hours. He knew the command staff was going to make a stand...to cover the presence of the Rescue Team. What he did not know was where the command staff and the rest of the crew were, and even if they were alive. Mitar thought a moment...well if they were all dead...they wouldn't be a rescue team. That would force Mitar to assess if regaining control of the Manticore was possible and/or finding away how to destroy the ship. Melville. No...killing the crew would be to simple from what he has learned of the man from his command staff. This traitor was a sadist...and was probably tor.....Precip closed his mind to that thought..and refocused on the team ahead of him. Proper Previous Planning Prevents Pee Poor Performance...was that the human phrase? Mitar began to emphasize..that they could not afford their anger to get the best of them, and mentioned that stealth. and surprise were there best weapons. The later being the greatest..but only achievable if the Rescue team remained stealthy. The team and Mitar himself needed answers. The first action of the Rescue Team would be to ascertain the situation. To do anything else at the moment would be premature Mitar thought. While Precip was continuing to emphasize the gravity of remaining undetected he and the team were completely unaware of what fate was befalling on the rest of the crew... End Log
  9. I am not aware of any numerical designations for the Miranda Class Starship. Certainly there are variants..most notably the Soyuz class vessel..which was constantly colliding with the Enterprise D in a temporal loop of some sort. ST:MAG did an entire Techical breif on the Miranda class and her siblings. The Book "Starship Spotter" by pocket books suggests that many Miranda's were built. And we know Starfleet was desperate in the Dominion war..bringing back old ships...and creating some rather odd classes! I really look forward to seeing those latter episodes on DS9 being on DVD! So much more I'll be able to see..including these "Frankenstien" ships mentioned in the DS9 tech manual. I also will be looking to see if they used a CGI of a Sovereign in one of those fleet scenes. Precip. PS Thanks Fred for the tip on the DS9 episode! Of course one must give a tip of the hat to the Constitution refit....for without those vessels..the Miranda's may never have come to be in existence. Her decendants being the Nebula and Akira class.
  10. Starships..what's your favorite? In response to Fred..I can't believe I forgot the Mirandas...lol..Heck! Still frontline on DS9! Interesting comments regarding USS Voyager, I find it interesting Paris referred to it as a battleship, for she clearly hasn't the size nor armament for that description. Her survivability on ST:Voyager, was how shall I say...almost unbelievable. I was surprised at the absence of Intrepid classs vessels on DS9..(unless someone who has the DVD has spotted a fleet of em CGI). My only thought was sombody at Parmount wanted that ship exclusively seen on Voyager. Still say the Akira is my favorite! Precip
  11. Since the poll asked for favorite class, I have to go with one of the CGI rendered vessels from First Contact...the Akira Class. A shame this ship is so badly misrepresented in the Star Trek Encyclopedia (only two torpedo launchers??). A better reference to this "gunship" like starship is the Starship Spotter book published in 2001. by Paramount. I love this vessel because, in my opinion it is the latest descendant of the Miranda Class Starship. The last being the Nebula Class. I enjoy seeing the people who design these ships add elements from prior classes. As for best Starship Class, Fred has a good arguement with the Constitution Class vessel. I feel however..the Excelsior..which started in controversy...has become the longest lived most durable design in the history of Starfleet. (of course that could change if we see another 24th-25th century Star Trek series!) Precip
  12. While the main chat rooms are down. Will there be any academies? I see them still slated on the schedule, but I understand that is probably dependant on the the main rooms being open. Precip
  13. Personal Log Lt MitarPrecip Tactical Officer USS Manticore "Surrender" Stardate 50307.28 "...AND PREPARE TO BE BOARDED" Precip overheard on the Manticore's bridge speakers...much to his disgust. This whole situation was disgusting and defeating to the Bolian. At least 6 Romulan vessels surrounded the Manticore..The two warbirds the Manticore followed to the small planet below, and the four newcomers that surrounded the Manticore blocking any escape. The two uncloaked warbirds had done a classic lure job..leading the cloaked Manticore to the Spider's web. As Tactical Officer, The Bolian shouldn't of allowed this to happen..yet it did. The Bolian had addressed his concerns. Hadn't he? Had he not suggested that after the first engagement the Romulan's had penetrated the Manticore's cloak and now could track her? Had he not suggested that the fact that they were operating in Romulan Space, there could be more Romulan vessels observing their every move. It was there own territory. Yet here they were...in a Romulan Trap...prepared by the traitor Melville. And the trap had been well built. The Romulans had apparently developed a new shielding system of some sort..that could absorb the impact of an entire spread of photon torpedoes. The Bolian considered Garnoopy's thought earlier of the Romulans using photonics (holograms) but the torpedoes would of sailed right through them...and if anything..the holomatrix projected would of been distorted to some degree by the enormous release of energy imparted upon it. If they were decoys...they were unlike anything he and ever seen..and seemed to defy the laws of physics. Defiance....should he have argued his beliefs about the course of action the Manticore was taking the last several hours stronger? Apparently the bridge crew including Precip, had irritated the Admiral to the point of giving a public lecture on the chain of command on the bridge itself. Perhaps the Admiral was dead set on pursing Melville even if their position had been compromised. The Bolian could not read the mind of the Admiral Atragon but he did read the situation now. They were trapped, and the Admiral standing if front of him was about to make a critical reply to the Romulan's announcement that they were boarding the Manticore. End Log.

  22. Clever Poll Jenna! I selected a Betazoid....because The Borg, Cardassians and Gorn would require too much prosthetics. Vulcan was a tempting choice...but being constantly...logical would be tough to act. I wear contacts...so I went with the Betazoid..plus dealing with telepathic ideas ...best package for me. Precip
