  1. [ Source code: Starboi, Lieutenant ] [ Accessing program: Personal log, Starboi ] [ Please enter voice confirmation?] .......Accepted! [ Please Enter Binary Code: ] ..... [ Password: ****** ] .... Accepted! [ Loading Personal Log for: ] [ First Lieutenant, Geovanie Revolone ] [ Begin ] ~ ~ ~ ~ BRIDGE // USS REAENT // HELM STATION ~ ~ ~ ~ Well, after so long I have decided to take up the art of writing a personal log. I guess these beat having to fill out reports in so may ways, considering that there is little to nothing required in writing a personal log. Just jot down what happened, and your specific feelings. A duty log will most likely follow, oh joy. The Reaent has recieved orders to aid in any distress calls we recieved from the Tholians, and lucky us we did get a distress signal. Commander Ridire has ordered us there, our current Estimated Time of Arrival is five minutes, encounting... I guess, I should have expected this to happen. First we recieved a distress signal, about a system under attack, ATA -- well, I can't even remember it, they should have easy names like bob or something. The point is first we recieve the distress signal, then we get confirmation to intercept. Seem like a trap to anyone else? Probably not. The federation would rather debate then actively take part in a crisis situation happening. Then again, this is an internal affair. Do we really have a right to be interfering in what happens within a nation? If it is a civil war, then we are looking at the shaping of there entire political structure, for better or worse, and the federation was founded to protect those very assets wasn't it? Then why is it that the federation has decided to intervene? Unless of course this breaks intergalactic peace. So far no transmissions have come from outlying systems claiming that they have been affected by the Tholian civil war except for Tholian systems -- naturally -- which means that what we are doing is going against the Prime Directive. Then again, would the Prime Directive really apply to members whom are part of the federation and seek out aid? Now theres a tough question. To help those who need help when they ask for it, or to let there government shape as it would and allow them the ability of growth. In many respects, God -- as the humans believe in it -- does the latter, and it seems the Federations intention was to likewise do so. Then why are we being called? [Pause in writing,] I don't think it matters much really. They have asked for help, and the Federation is bound by law to help those who ask for it, especially if they are members of the Federation. I don't know if the Tholians are (I don't keep up to date with whose joined and such) but we are going to aid them. I have a bad feeling about this... [Log ended] "Sir, now entering the star system..." Starboi muttered, his hands flying over the console. Yes -- a VERY bad feeling.
  2. ~ ~ ~ ~ BRIDGE // USS REAENT ~ ~ ~ ~ Formal Duty Log All stations have reported that the situation is under control and that the Captains orders to be well versed with the V'Ger incident are being carried out. As Helms officer, I feel obligated to note a 0.03 variance in the Helm response time, and would kindly note to starfleet that this error should be correct at the next Starbase for 100% efficiency of all Impulse Drive control variables through the Helm Station. I have distributed the PADDs to all Departments, classifying the basic necessity of the transmissions and information that was recieved from Starbase 173. Of further note, the information has also been transfered to the individual stations as well as PADDs, allowing for any missed people to immediately refer there to collect the desired information. Commander Ridire has left me in charge, and I am current in command of the bridge upon further notice of arrive by either a superior officer, of the Commander and Captain. All departments are busy with there desired functions, and my Assitant (Mr.Scherer) is currently engrossed in helping out the newest addition to our crew, of whom I have already forgotten the name (Personal Note: Learn the Lads name). Geo frowned, then saved the information and handed it to the lady who had given the blank PADD to him to fill out (Reference made in Personal Log), then nodded and saw her off. Before he returned to his Personal Log, muttering about humans again.
  3. ~ ~ ~ ~ BRIDGE // USS REAENT ~ ~ ~ ~ A Hastily Written Log I was never the best at writing these logs, nor is my writing what it used to be. I suppose, I can credit this long awaited report to the simple proceedings of the past little while. This crew has been threw a lot, more so then even the great Captain Kirk and people have. He's a hero though, an icon and a role model. We all cherish that man for his superb ability to command men in battle, and his uncanny characteristics for adventure. In many respects I can draw several points of reference from the famed James Tiberius Kirk. What made him so special? I think, the root of men and women lies not in what they do, or what they look like, or for that matter their rank. Rather, I reaffirm my justified position on the basis that all people are what we think they could. Would O'nass of followed Quarel in the Hermekian uprising of 234 FE? FE for Faction Efforts, a time in our history when every clan was against one another. Lets draw reference from another, more earthly situation. Would the French of listened to Napolean if they had not seen great potential? Isn't it potential that drives us forward? The Real Madrid soccer team in 2005 fought for everything they had under the false assumption they could gain victory. HOPE! That's the key factor. We all see hope, and we all want something better. The Federation is practically built under hope... I'm not for peace, I'm not for scientific endeavors, hell I don't even care about unity in the Galaxy. War is what thrives the Galaxy. Through life, all organisms must struggle to grow, and without that struggle, there is no growth. Nothing. I've struggle for so long to make something of my life. To make it better then what it could have been, what it was... The concept of peace seems so foreign. Their's... Geo looked up, nodding and taking a PADD as he sat at the Captains chair. He had been given temporary command, but the ship hardly needed the Helsmen to navigate the internal structure. Everything was flowing smoothly. He signed it quickly, handed it back, then continued his writing -- Their's nothing so tastey as Tarkalean... Ale... I suppose or... perhaps the Tea? I side track too easily. One day, I will look back at this personal Log, and laugh. To think! I would willingly be heading closer to a Klingon ship without planning on attacking it. I'm getting too soft, a human trait I suppose. Anyway. I was promoted to First Lieutenant, I can literally say I'm jumping with joy, but I will conceal it for the sake of my reputation. The Commander has vanished, to a drinking contest or to check on everything else, eitherway, it's more exciting then here. Once again interupted, Geo quickly handled matters before returning to his Log entry It feels like a weight on my neck. I'm proud of this upgrade in status. Maybe now I can match Mclean eh? No, I shouldn't say that... the Chiefs managed to torment me even after I've left Engineering, mind you, I haven't seen him much... Perhaps he'd like to drink? Ah! Knowing him, he's probably in the midst of throwing one of his underdogs out the airlock... Oh well, twos a crowd... Helm... I've loved the position from the start, and I've never turned down any opportunity to pilot a shuttle or starship... It gets so lonely in space, but the Federation adopts a warmth that you can't find elsewhere... I am getting soft, too soft... Before long, I'll be flirting like Kroel... This log ends here, I'll have to add to it later. I will close with a brief statement. If struggle is what organisms need to survive. And the Federation seeks peace. Does this not mean that the Federations plight to create peace and harmony is in truth the destruction of the known galaxy as we know it? Does it mean that without the struggle we will cripple ourselves... Humans are weak, but they've banned together stronger then any Rebellion I've witnessed on Hermek... Maybe... Just maybe... the Federation works... Only time will tell... Till then, theres still plenty liquor around.
