  1. Applications are closed. Thank you to all who applied. Results will be announced later this week or early next week. -Davies
  2. Shasta is still around. ::grin::
  3. Dustin, Thank you for your questions. 1. The Prometheus class is still in production. The Agincourt is a new ship. I imagine the class will continue in production for quite a few more years as well considering the canon glimpses of the future. 2. The marine ranking system will be patterned after the USMC with the additions of at least one rank to make promotions contemporaneous with Starfleet officers. Hope this helps, Captain Davies
  4. Seiben, Thank you for the inquiry. To answer your question, it would honestly depend on the player. The player would have to have excellent credentials before even the consideration could be taken up. ECH abilities? Perhaps...but like I said, the role as it stands now is an NPC played by either Col Harper or myself, and that role will be used sparingly. Sincerely, Captain Davies
  5. Nemesis, Thanks for your question. We are trying our best to avoid creating the future for canon Trek characters. We can tell you that whether or not he's alive, he will not affect the Agincourt simulation. -Davies
  6. STSF Precip, Thank you for your comments! 1. While there will be a sophisticated EMH (Mark VI as of 2397) on board the USS Agincourt, the EMH will function according to its original purpose, as the Emergency Medical Hologram. The EMH will be an NPC. 2. The command structute for the USS Agincourt in MV is as followed. CO- Primary Section; XO- Secondary Section; 2SO- Tertiary Section. 3. The Agincourt will indeed have the ability to land, however, only in exigent circumstances. Furthermore, each section of the Agincourt while in MV mode will have the ability to land. The landing feature should only be considered a last resort for the ship. Hope this helps, Captain Davies
  7. Can I have... "We band of brothers..." Thanks. -Davies
  8. Reminder: Special Applications are due Sunday by midnight. -Davies
  9. Vex, Good question. Yes, there will be still a security department on board that will be responsible for ship's security and tactical duties. The marines will basically be half-Marines/half-Flex. It will NOT be a "goof-off" department. In fact, I would imagine the Marines will be the most active department on the ship considering who their CO is. Hope that helps, Captain Davies
  10. Exactly. :D
  11. Van Roy, It all depends on crew applications. The marines do have the highest level of growth potential. -Captain Davies.
  12. We shall not bad-mouth the Welsh now... :P Bad images...bad. -Davies
  13. Travis, Thank you for your question. Sesame Chicken, yes. Sesame Street (in its 428th year of production), yes. Sincerely, Captain Davies.
  14. Dustin, Thank you for your questions. I will answer them to the best of my ability. 1. The peace treaty was initiated by the Federation and accepted by both the Romulan and Klingon empires. The Romulans motivation for entering the treaty was the fact that they had just emerged out of a nasty civil war. Spock's work did play a minimal factor, though. I can't give away everything without revealing many important aspects of the plot. Hope this helps. 2. EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS: The technology level on Agincourt is NOT all that different from during the Voyager era. Sure, there have been advancements in warp core technology, shielding, medical breakthroughs, etc. This does not mean, however, that everyone has personal cloaking devices, humans can walk through walls, and there are lovely subspace fur coats. A lot of things can and have happened in twenty years, but within reason. 3. The marines will answer to the XO. This does not, however, mean that the Marines can do whatever they want either. Hope this helps, Captain Davies
  15. Kansas, Thank you for the questions! Please note that I will be leaving some questions to Colonel Harper, as some of these things are her department. 1) There will be no fighter pilot squadron. 2) Colonel Harper can explain the role of Marines on the Agincourt sim. 3) Ditto. 4) Traditional races (for the most part) will be playable, but as always, will be subject to the approval to the command staff. The treaty has been in place for only two years, so I would venture to say "no" to Klingons, Romulans and Starfleet serving on the same vessel. Those two species, however, will be prominent in the sim. 5) Oh, the possibilities... I can't really give you a straight answer without giving away a large chunk of the plot. :P Hope this helps, Captain Davies
  16. STSF Community, Colonel C.E. Harper and I are pleased to announce STSF’s newest advanced simulation, the USS Agincourt. The USS Agincourt sim is set in the year 2397 (20 years after Voyager) and will run every Wednesday at 10 PM ET beginning March 16th. Details about joining the sim will be made available within the next couple of weeks. Here are some of the features of the sim. • The ship: The sim is a Prometheus class vessel (as first seen in Star Trek: Voyager’s “Message in a Bottle) and is the ninth installment of that class. • The command staff: The sim features a unique command staff setup with an executive officer marine who is also the head of the ship’s marine battalion. • The staff: The sim features the same traditional departments as other simulations, but also as a marine battalion. • The plot: The USS Agincourt sim is set 20 years beyond the return of Voyager during a time of great political and economic cooperation between many previously rivaling powers. The sim features an epic storyline that will not only explore the bonds of peace, but will see them tested beyond imagination. • The possibilities: The possibilities are endless for the Agincourt sim. If you’re excited about encountering and being a part of making the future of Star Trek, then the Agincourt simulation may be for you. We welcome your discussion on this simulation and would be happy to answer any basic questions that have not been answered yet (besides giving away the plot!). Feel free to post them to this thread: http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showt...t=0entry37458 Once again, details about joining the simulation will be forthcoming. Sincerely, Captain Simeon Davies Commanding Officer USS Agincourt NCC-81762
  17. Vex, This thread should answer your basic questions. http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showt...t=0entry37458 If you have any further questions, feel free and post them to that thread, I'll be glad to answer them. -Davies
  18. A little background... The USS Agincourt sim was named after the 1415 Battle of Agincourt during the Hundred Years War between the English (and Welsh) and the French. The English, out-manned and out-gunned (though gun powder wasn't used yet) scored a major victory versus the mighty French calvalry. Superior tactics and the use of the Welsh longbow archers helped secure this victory. This battle is seen as the apex of the longbow in warfare. For more information read the Wikipedia article on the Battle of Agincourt at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Agincourt
  19. Images, Well...the 2395 Treaty of Versailles is just one part of the sim. The quote (from Shakespeare's Henry V) does have meaning to the sim as well. -Davies
  20. Date: May 17, 2395 Location: Paris, France, Earth “Versailles” Admiral Redburn strolled through the Versailles Diplomatic Center (VDC), taking in the years of history that surrounded him. Built shortly after the Third World War, the VDC contained many artifacts of world history. The walls were adorned with massive portraits of some of Earth’s most famous individuals: Louis XIV, Winston Churchill, Jonathan Sar-Woo, among others. Admiral Redburn gazed upon those portraits and chuckled. Would he be considered among these greats someday? Most likely not, but nevertheless, he was the author, the mover and shaker, of one of the greatest diplomatic moments in human history. Versailles seemed a fitting place for such a momentous occasion. No other place has been as synonymous with the hope for peace as Versailles. In just a few hours, that hope for peace would be realized for three superpowers. Redburn could not help but smile. The moment was almost at hand. “I wasn’t expecting to find you here,” called out a deep booming voice about fifty feet down the hall. “There’s not much else to do…the Klingon and Romulan envoys arrive in a couple hours,” replied Admiral Redburn. Slowly the second man moved toward the Admiral who was now stopped and gazing out one of the large windows. “Richard, do you realize what you’ve accomplished?” Admiral Redburn smirked, then his countenance became more serious, “You know, after Wolf 359, after the Dominion War, I never thought that this day would be possible.” The second man came along side of the Admiral and reached over to pat him on the back. “You’ve done a great thing.” Redburn let himself take in the moment. He truly believed that he had accomplished something. Yet, there was something in him that wanted to believe that the peace would not last. “We’ll see….” “Richard, regardless of what happens…even if neither of the envoys show up today, I am still proud of you,” replied Admiral Redburn’s father, Ronald. The Admiral turned to embrace his father, overtaken with joy. “Thanks dad….” Four hours later, in the Great Hall of the VDC, the Federation, Klingon Empire and Romulan Empire signed an unprecedented non-aggression treaty that included provisions for furthering political, economic and social cooperation between the three superpowers. In just two years, the superpowers would see the Treaty of Versailles tested beyond what Admiral Redburn, or any other being, could have imagined.
