  1. Lt. Cdr. John Lee Personal Log Star Date: 10509.11 Begin Log: The Republic crew seems to always have the knack of running into trouble every time we go on shore leave. The last time was when the crew fell under some illness; recently it was the incident on the Wadi station. That was an interesting mission, considering we were on shore leave in the Gamma Quadrant. It’s similar to a case that occurred on Deep Space Nine. Several officers on the senior staff were transported into some virtual reality of a Wadi game. Their fates would be decided by the players, which were Cdr. Kwai and Capt. Kawalas and several other Wadi personnel on the station. I had the fortune of walking in on the middle of the game. Watching the captain and commander playing this game, making sure that our fellow colleagues, our friends would make it “home” safe was not an easy thing to do. It wasn’t long before we figured out that the pieces on the board were the missing officers. We did what we could to get them out safely and quickly. We realized that we had to finish the game to retrieve everyone. As soon as the repairs were completed and everyone returned onboard, we departed the station and set course for the wormhole. An incident that happened while the crew was returning to the ship left my in command for the time being. I have to say, if it wasn’t for the Admiral being knocked unconscious, I probably would not have had the chance to be left in command, even if it was just to hold the fort for a while. Now I understand why people are so eager to become a captain, sitting in the center chair was an exciting experience. And the view was completely different in the command seat. I can’t wait for another chance at it. End Log:
  2. Lieutenant JG. V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10507.05 Begin Log: With Security Chief Quark’s approval, I performed a mind meld Victor Images to obtain information that pertained to the event of his mysterious disappearance and reappearance near the station. Due to the current circumstances it was necessary to approve or disapprove any assumptions that would affect security of the station. Although Victor Images was frustrated with his confinement to the brig, he complied to verify his story. I must say, the meld was intriguing, as it was my first time performing one, but I had no doubt that it would succeed. I sensed much emotion, on a private level, which in respect for Dr. Images, I will not enter in my official log. From the report he submitted to Mid. Scotts, I can verify that what he claims to be his explanation for his disappearance to be true. Images reportedly went on leave to visit his home planet Kambana 6. Upon arriving at his destination, Images rendevous with Barry Lonsfield, his foster father, at DS9. Mr. Lonsfield is the captain of the merchant trade ship Hispaniola. He was returning from a trading business from the Cardassian border. According to Dr. Images, Lonsfield was smuggling Cardassian narcotics across the border. A report will be filed on Lonsfield and surrounding outposts will be notified of his crime. Upon his further investigation into Lonsfield’s dealings, Lonsfield suggested that Images continue to Kambana 6 in a pod which he would supply. As Images had left in the pod, Lonsfield activated a device located on the port side of the pod. Once this device was activated, the pod was subjected to a tachyon field which created a temporal fold in space enveloping the pod; disrupting the timstream within the field, which in a sense, stopped time. Further investigation of the device and it’s technicalities will be handed over to Chief Engineer Lt. Zhu. In conclusion of my report, I will recommend to Commander Quark that Dr. Images be released immediately and that he poses to security risk to the station. End Log:
  3. Lieutenant JG V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10505.06 Begin Log: As I continue my task in providing security to incoming diplomats, political unrest is rising on the Cardassian front which will undoubtedly spread to the other powers within the sector. With recent attacks on Hutet and Cardassia IV, security measures on the station have been heightened. The security department has taken intensive measures to assure that the probability of an incident happening on the station is minimal at best. As we are currently dealing with the elections on Cardassia, which may be postponed according to Prime Minister G’Serk, a delegation from Rixia have come onboard the station seeking assistance from the Federation with their “Rixian Syndrome” as it is called. Apparently a virus that appeared to be insignificant in past years has proven to become lethal to their race. If a cure or a vaccine is not found, the Rixians may only have a few generations left in it’s life span. I feel that on part of the Rixians, there is much apprehension. Due to the part of their genetically enhanced race, their way of thinking is of superiority to all other races. They still believe that they are the “the center of the universe” so to speak. A belief that is common in the history of most civilizations. However I believe that they are an open minded people when the time calls for it; their ability to accept things that are not in accordance to their beliefs is skeptical at best. And with the political shake up on Cardassia Prime with upcoming elections does not help the situation. This could damage the relationship between the Federation and the Rixians as well as Cardassia. The events that will unfold will determine the future of this sector, if not, the quadrant.
  4. Lieutenant j.g. V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10502.21 Begin Log: The even involving the ion storm has passed, with interesting situations. The major repairs on the station have been completed. Station life is beginning to return to normal. Almost immediately after the ion storm passed, political shakeup has risen on Cardassia. In relations to the current office elections, we are preparing for the worst possible scenario. I have been given the assignment of monitoring the elections and preparing for any possible terrorist attacks. I have taken measures to monitor political news traffic on Cardassia for any possible leads that will lead me to a possible attack. Aside from that, I have been given another task to safe guard a guest that has come onboard the station, however I have no other information on this guest, only that I know that he or she is here. In other news diplomats are reported to arrive on Aegis in the next few days. I have undoubtedly been given this task to assist in the safeguard of the diplomats, and to provide any services needed. Further security measures will be taken; the arrival of the diplomats will be an enticing target for any terrorist group. The security department is capable of taking this task; the probability of something occurring is quite high. End Log:
  5. Lt. Cdr. John Lee Personal Log Star Date: 10501.13 Begin Log: It has been a strange journey of sorts. Most of the senior staff have, lets just say been bad. However I have been fortunate not to be involved in the situation for which the staff may be court marshaled for. It is not time to dwell on such, now it is a matter of repairing the shields and the structural integrity systems, the secondary systems will have to be put off. The struck has been struck by some pulse of immense power, capable of disabling our shields on the first shot. Luckily partial shields have been restored; structural integrity is almost back to full strength. I wish that we were to move out of the system, unfortunately there is a mission to complete. I doubt it will be a quiet one. End Log:
  6. Ensign V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10411.19 Begin Log: The leading edge of the storm is closing in on the station as I write this log. Before the storm has even reached the station, we are already feeling the affects of the magnetic field it is emitting. Several systems on the station are constantly shutting down and turning back on. This will hamper our ability to sustain the brunt of the storm; with constant failure of the station’s systems I do not believe that our chances for survival are very good. However we are trying to adapt the station from the continuous disruption of power. Chief Quark, Lt. Andrews, and I are currently in security observing the events on the station; however the power in security and on the deck is offline. But I do believe I can adapt an emergency power cell to the security console, with the help of Lt. Andrews, I believe I will be able to bring the short range external sensors online and minimal internal sensors. It is expected that enough of the sensors to be able to monitor the internals of the station and the ion storm. Eng Log:
  7. Ensign V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10410.29 Begin Log: I discontinued my work to analyze the movements of the Cardassians that were present onboard the station, to assist with the evacuation of the station. My assignment was to monitor and ensure the safety of the evacuation of civilians to the starship Vico. The evacuation proceeded as expected, aside from minor infractions. No doubt as the result of uneasy emotions, which several could not control. When the evacuation had been completed, there were no more than thirty officers remaining onboard the station. To which will respond to any emergency that will arise on or near the station. The station now is empty, with no civilians or other officers remaining onboard. It is quite uneasy to adapt to the vastness of the station without any other presence present, except for the thirty crewmembers remaining onboard. However the thirty crewmen onboard do not compare to the large population of people that evacuated. None the less this will not affect our abilities to run the station during the ion storm. End Log:
  8. Lt. John Lee Officer’s Log Star Date: 10410.11 Begin Log: While traveling to the coordinates to receive the ingredients needed for the vaccination against the virus, we sustained damage when encountering a subspace fracture. Extensive damage to the port nacelle, destroying the bussard collector and overloading two of the warp coils. This being done, it was necessary to deactivate the two corresponding warp coils on the starboard nacelle. With four of the warp coils off-line, we are delayed from arriving at New Bajor as soon as we had hoped. Repairs are underway, hopefully we will be able to repair the warp coils without having the need to dock at a star base. End Log:
  9. Ensign V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10410.06 Begin Log: As the ion storm closes its distance to the station, further protective measures have been taken to secure the civilians of the station and incoming ships, as well as the station itself. The station’s security department has run several diagnostics of the monitoring systems, as well as the identification programs to monitor the incoming civilians. I have also gone over the evacuation plans with Muon Quark, chief of security. In light of the emergency, I am confident that the station will survive. I am also confident in the performance of the crew. Another mission which will prove to be successful. End Log:
  10. Ensign V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10409.26 Begin Log: The investigation concerning Ens. Scott has been halted temporarily, for the sudden concern is an approaching ion storm. The storm is on a course heading for the station, preparations are underway to ensure the protection of the station and nearby planets, facilities, and ships. My duty is to oversee the necessary evacuations procedures, in case the station needs to be evacuated. I have gone over the plans with Lt. Cmdr. Quark. As soon as the preparations are complete, we will wait for the storm and see what will happen. End Log:
  11. Lt. John Lee Officer’s Log Star Date: 10409.13 Begin Log: Upon my return to the ship, I was directly ordered to return to my duties because the toll the virus had taken on the crew. As the ship was left with less than a skeleton crew, there was barely anyone to keep the ship’s systems functional. Unfortunately with the virus running loose all over the ship, we were left to work wearing environmental suites, which were very uncomfortable. However, in light of current events a cure for the virus has been discovered and implemented. Now that the cure is being distributed, the ship is returning to normal, except for the fact that the admiral is now in custody of the Yadernans. End Log:
  12. Midshipman V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10409.3 Begin Log: I have been assigned the duty of investigating Ens. Scott Sabourin’s case, in which he is accused of harassing a fellow officer in Drankum’s Bar during which the aliens were still habiting several crewman. The accuser is Lt.Jg Jenna Schwartz, I first began my investigation my questioning her, but before I could and incident concerning an individual falling from the upper deck. Unfortunately the patient did not survive; I have heard that this incident may be related to a previous homicide case, before I was posted on the station. Before I questioned her I realized that she would be a difficult individual to question, from her remark of outranking me. Judging from her emotional reaction, I suspected deception. As I continued with my investigation she became highly emotional, illogical, but humans are an emotional people. Now that the questioning has concluded, I will look into her personal files, to search for any past incidents that may be similar. I also require Lt. Cdr. Quark’s account of how Lt. Schwartz reacted when the chief questioned her. Then after that has been completed I will question Ens. Sabourin. However I suspect that this case is not what it appears to be… End Log:
  13. Midshipman V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10408.26 Begin Log: There has been little misconduct onboard the station. Nor has there been any “action”. Life on the Aegis has been a quite one, one of recovery. Now that things have settled down, Lt. Jg. Shawn Andrews gave me a tour of the station. This will surely assist me in adapting to the station surroundings. I have committed the station to memory; this will improve my efficiency as a security officer. End Log:
  14. Lt. John Lee Personal Log Star Date: 10408.26 Begin Log: There has been no progress in the release of Capt. Ace. But we were allowed to return to the ship, but as we reached the docking bay of the ship, we were ordered not to exit out of the Yadernan shuttle. We don’t know why we can’t leave the shuttle, has something happened on the ship? Has the virus situation gone worse? Capt. Ace being retained on the planet is bad enough but if we have an epidemic on the ship, things will get worse. End Log:
  15. Lt. John Lee Personal Log Star Date: 10408.22 Begin Log: Disturbing news… the Yadernans are holding Capt. Ace is being held in their custody to answer crimes during the Dominion War. The charges are against Adm. Blurox, but the chancellor is holding Capt. Ace in her place. The chancellor informs us that the Capt. will not be harmed, and that she will be released when the Adm. comes to take her place. Fortunately for the rest of the away team, we will not be harmed. But I feel uncomfortable about the situation as well as the rest of the crew. I can only hope that there is a solution to all of this. End Log:
  16. Midshipman V’Ran Officer’s log Star date: 10408.18 Begin Log: I have finally begun my first duty shift onboard the Sky Harbor Aegis as an assistant security officer. Now that the station is returning to normal I do not for see any other interruptions, at least for the moment. My first task was to examine the roster for the arrivals onboard the station after the departure of the aliens. I had discovered, while examining the personal credentials, that a Captain Ayers of the starships Yorktown had a missing identification file. I approached the Capt. in Drankum’s bar, asking him for verification of his identity. I must say that humans make a simple task difficult to handle at times. Not only from the Capt. but from other crew members. I believe that a “prank”, as humans call it, was pulled. But was it for either the Capt. or me, I do not know. How there is any logic for such frivolous endeavor I do not know. However these things I do expect from humans. End Log:
  17. Midshipman V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10408.10 Begin Log: It has been discovered that the disorder on board the station has been caused by an alien race attempting to communicate with us. The incompatible technologies lead to the dysfunction on the station, from the malfunctioning systems, to the psychological breakdown of the crew. Those of the crew with empathic abilities are the ones that are most vulnerable to the alien’s technology; this would explain the minor headache I have been experiencing. But since the aliens have left, the discomfort is gone as well. As well as the restoration of the ship’s systems and the no longer present spiritual beings, and the voices. Now that the station is returning to normal I can proceed with my duties. End Log:
  18. Lt. John Lee Personal Log Star Date: 10408.10 Begin Log: Once we were detained we were taken to a holding cell where we would be held for questioning. The accommodations I must say aren’t comfortable at all. We had to wait for what seemed to be ages. Because of Jax we had to go through all of this. While we were waiting Will revealed he actually had weapons on him, this is didn’t expect. He said they were for emergencies, but I don’t think that they will help us in this situation. There was nothing to do but wait and wait and wait. Patience is one thing I do not often posses. When it came time for my search, I was in relief that I no longer needed to wait. But the search was as bearable as the wait. The attitude and those sticks… might as well use Klingon pain sticks. Once the search was over I was relieved, and glad to reunite with my away team members. With the search complete, the next thing I hope is to see the chancellor. End Log:
  19. Lt. John Lee Personal Log Star Date: 10408.3 Begin Log: Our arrival at Yaderna II did not go as expected. By the time we had arrived, it was discovered that part of the crew had contracted a virus. Apparently this was a result from the shore leave on New Bajor. Luckily during my time there I did not contract the virus, but because of this I now have to go down to the planet to observe peace talks between the natives and the Federation. Because of the virus most of the command staff is too ill to go down to the planet. For the rest of the crew, a vaccine has been administered to prevent further contagions. I would only hope that the rest of the mission would go smoothly, but as fate would have it, it did not go well either. When we transported down to the planet, we did not beam down to where the negotiations would take place, but outside. As we continued our way to meet the chancellor, we were taken in by Yaderna security for search and questioning. No doubt from the result of Jax’s big mouth, now peace talks will be delayed, and by the time we do, we might not be alive. End Log:
  20. Midshipman V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10407.31 Begin Log: The problems precede onboard the station. But we have been able to advance in our attempts to repair the system and restore it to its previous state. The engineering crew was successful in tracing the corrupted data to a several vector pathways within the waste reclamation systems. Several measures are being taken to trace the virus through the correct pathway. Three of the five pathways have been checked out and nothing but dead ends. Along with the assistance of Lt. Cdr. Brown’s security program R.O.A.C.H., we have been able to track down the virus more efficiently. We are in “hope” that in the last two pathways is the solution. However the condition of the crew’s sanity is deteriorating. With the appearance of multiple “ghost” images on the consoles, mass paranoia grows. Unfortunately the humanoids onboard this station who are not Vulcan, lack the discipline I posses which allows me to be in control. But my observations show that the crew has more discipline then I expected of humans. A particular human that has come to my attention is Ens. Eli Zhu, a member of the engineering team. He is a very competent officer but his methods are questionable. During the time I have spent working with him, I have come to realize that he pushes himself to the limit. I do not agree that this is the most efficient way of completing tasks or to one’s health. This is risking danger to oneself and to the members of the crew. I understand that he is a new graduate from the academy, but it is logical for one to be rational in pushing one’s self to the limit. Maybe in time he will learn to change his ways. Despite some flaws I look forward to working with him again. End Log:
  21. Midshipman V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10407.24 Begin log: My continued investigation has led me to discover the problem that has been inflicting the station with the various difficulties. As I believed if someone was to sabotage the station, I searched through the non-essential systems. As my continued investigation proceeded, I discovered a discrepancy within the waste reclamation system. This discrepancy was programmed to initiate feedback command pathways, disrupting functions through various systems. Now that the problem has been found, I believe the engineering crew will be sufficient in resolving the situation. Another subject has come to my concern, as well as to the rest of the crew. As I have been venturing through the station to complete my duties, I have noticed that the station’s technical difficulties are not the only factor that has been stressing the other officers. As I find myself with a slight headache, but not disruptive enough to keep me from my duties. The reactions of the crew display a fear that they are being followed, but there is no one behind them. As I was making my way to sickbay, I overheard the discussion between two crewmen on the subject of ghosts that appear to be on the station. Their way of thinking is highly illogical, but expected of their species as of many others. I have not experienced this feeling, but I do not doubt that I will soon. End log:
  22. Midshipman V’Ran Officer’s Log Star Date: 10407.23 Begin Log: My new posting onboard the Sky Harbor Aegis was interesting. I did not expect such chaos when I came onboard. But with the duties of becoming a Starfleet officer this would be expected. After arriving on the station, I was sent immediately to secure engineering along with my commanding officer, Chief of Security Muon Quark. If these were under normal circumstances, this command would not be logical, but these are not normal circumstances. After arriving at engineering, we secured the area. The engineering crew decided on a station wide restart of the computer system. While the preparation was underway I was ordered to search the computer for signs of sabotage. I was able to find a discrepancy in the waste disposal protocols, but I was unable to further investigate. The crew had begun the restart protocols. Once the restoration is completed, I will continue my investigation. End Log:
  23. Lt. John Lee Officer’s Log Star Date: 10407.23 Begin Log: After our trip to New Bajor the Republic has been sent to Yaderna II to begin negotiations for trade and passages rights. With the coming peace talks it has been uneventful for the engineering crew. But Lt. Cmdr. Trepp and I have been able to test out the local cuisine, just in case the replicators get something wrong, we wouldn’t want to natives to be insulted. I must say that was the most enjoyable cultural study of a species I have ever had. End Log:
  24. Lt. John Lee Personal Log Star Date: 10407.04 Begin Log: Our trip through the Bajoran wormhole was a success. I’ve recently arrived to the Republic from Deeps Space Nine as an assistant engineer. I must say the ship is massive; it’s more massive in person. After reaching the Gamma quadrant the Republic stopped at New Bajor to stop for supplies and new crewman. Since the ship will be docked for several days, Admiral Blurox has given the crew R and R for the time being. I must say New Bajor is just as beautiful as Bajor, despite the fact that the population was eradicated not long before the Dominion War started, with the devastation left behind on the planet. Shore leave was very relaxing but not uneventful. During my time on the planet I ran into Lt. Apollo Link, an Arbazan. When we meet he had the word “NERD” suntanned on his back, which I could tell was not pleasant. And knowing the fact that Arbazans are very formal, well… things didn’t go too well when Apollo found out. I had tried many attempts to inform Apollo about his situation but he took it the wrong way. When the facts were made clear, he became more furious, especially at Lt. Skippy. Being the careful type I decided to leave and return to the ship. Via returning to the ship I met another officer, we walked and talked for quite some time. She was very nice to speak with, especially after encountering Apollo. After returning to the ship, I tended to my duties in engineering. It was usual tasks: diagnostics, reports, maintenance, etc. Hopefully it won’t remain this peace and quite for the rest of the mission.
  25. Lt. John Lee Personal Log Star Date: 10405.21 Begin Log: This log will be short since time is running short for the crew to stop Brock and change the timeline. We have arrived at DS9, and assignments have been handed out. We are going to take the star drive section of the Republic to go in and stop the Ferengi ship before it collides with us and begins the timeline all over again. My assignment is to assist Ensign Ki’rok to load the forward torpedo bay, hopefully I’ll be able to bypass the security systems in the torpedo room, or we won’t be able to destroy that Ferengi ship. End Log:
