Hello one and all! It has been a few years since I have actually been able to simm, and have missed it. My characters name was Dr. Anika Raine Pierce. Does anyone remeber my character; Do the people I used to simm with still sim? I know I have had a great many life changes since I last simmed, but I really wanted to know who was still out there. :lol:)

Actually its the other way around...I named my sim character after my daughter. I fell in love with the name Anika, and if I ever had a daughter that would be her name, but I never expected to have kids so soon. Now I have have to come up with a new sn.

i hope i will be able to get back on the arcadia...one day. My life is still incredibly busy. its nice to see the same names. I'll have to drop by on a wed. night :lol: And for fun...Here is a picture of one of my many life changes. Her name is Anika Raine (familiar name, isn't it? :D )and she was born Sept. 1, 2005

You mean GM's really do exist.... :D I thought they were made up to make sure us simmers behave ;) (Just thought the comment was amusing since, as simmers, we rarely ever see each other :D )

That is a good movie. My dad always had us watch that movie and other WWII movies. There is a lot more impact from the movies than in the classroom. THe day will not be forgotten.

I know this is way late, but I want to thank you all for the birthday wishes I received from you all. It means a lot since I kinda dissapeared on you all...but I am now stepping out from the shadows and going throught the academy again. So for all you out there...I hope to see you around...again :P

I just wanted to say to everyone and wish everyone a continually great summer. Being that I haven't simmed in so long I am afraid when I start again I will be rusty (for all our sakes, lets hope not :D ). And for those that I have simmed with...I miss you guys...and I especially miss the arcadia A big part of the reason I haven't been simming is because I have received a wonderful fellowship in Long Island, NY doing research in marine biology. So basically I do research during the week and go to the beach every weekend (and get paid for it too :) ). the only downside I can think of is that I have no computer access late at night to play ::sniff, sniff:: Anyone else care to share their summer happenings? Actually Nebraska...unfortunatly, Columbus is not an origional city name, many states have it as a name of some town.

Like I said I think it would be a bad idea if the made a movie on the eugenics war. The would possible lose the repect of a lot of ST fans, the movie would not go as well as the hope--thereby causing no more future for Star Trek...

But Khan already received a TOS episode, and 1 ST:TOS movie. Fans need change...unfortunately, Paramount will keep with there plans (although us here at STSF have great ideas :D ). As for setting the scene, there will always be groups who don't want change and will do anything to sabatoge peace efferts...history nearly always repeats itself....

Let's see, there are many ST books that I like however, for some great books (at least I think so) that aren't ST...well fro now I would recommend 2. Timeline--by Michael Crichton -->I am afraid to watch the movie because I can see form the previews they already changed the story. The book however is one of his best I think. Angels & Demons--by Dan Brown It's the prequel to the Davinci Code. I haven't read it yet. However, I just finished Angels&Demons and thought it was pretty good. That's it for now. Hopefully one year I will be able to go to Vegas with you guys. It sounds like you guys have a lot of fun! Grom, I love it here in Stony Brook. And getting to go on boats in the Great South Bay and calling it work is wonderful :D

I don't undertand how a Star Trek movie would be a Star Trek movie without any of our beloved charecters... And I am possible worried tha they will begin to show too much on Earth and take space exploration out of the equation. They should probably leave the Romulan war for the series and do the movie on the begins of starfleet. At least I like that Idea better.

(OOC: This story takes place before we arrived at the starbase) Anika looked down at the letter in front of her. She didn’t know what to say or even what to think. A week ago she had sent a message to her family informing them she had two weeks leave and she wanted to spend it with them for the holidays. Anika knew her parents were very displeased with her decision to join Starfleet, but she was always allowed back home when she was in the academy (granted her parents would always try to talk her out of Starfleet and always to no avail). But why was this time any different... Was it because she had actually graduated and her parents failed to talk her out of Starfleet? Once again she stared down at the PADD. “Dear Anika, we are delighted to hear that everything has been going well for you on the Arcadia and that you are happy with the path you have chosen. At this time however, your father and I, just can’t see how our paths fit together anymore. You always knew of our strong dislike towards Starfleet, yet you chose this path anyway. We think it would be best for all us if you didn’t come home this year. We are very sorry to tell you this, but we just think it is for the best.” Of course Anika knew that her brother, Vincent, didn’t agree with her parents. He had earlier sent her a communiqué saying she was welcome at his house this season—now she knew why. How could her parents do this...family was family no matter what the circumstances...right? Did this mean her home in Hawaii was no longer home? Her paradise, her refuge, her family...gone? What could she do? It now seemed pointless to go home: her family was her sole reason for returning. In quiet shock she tapped her COM badge: Dr. Pierce to sickbay... “Sickbay here, go ahead.” “Please put me on the schedule for my normal hours. I can take on extra hours too if it’s needed.” “...but Dr. Pierce is says that you have two weeks lea...” Anika didn’t give him a chance to finish his sentence, she couldn’t for fear the tears would start coming: there has been a change in plans and it would appear I am available. If you could just do that I would appreciate it. Thank you and that will be all...Pierce out. She realized she sounded short, but what could she do. And with that thought the tears started. Deep down she knew this would all work out, but how long would it take before she could call home, home again?
