  1. It was a quiet evening on Magna Roma. Compared to a couple hours ago, Kimiko could do quiet. She was standing on the balcony of a lavish estate, looking out upon the city. A cool breeze blew by, letting the Major's hair and newly adorned white robe wave. By all rights she should be dead now. Kimi had fought in the games roughly two hours ago. And though she put up one hell of a fight, making the other two almost look like fool. But she was caught off guard and had a sword at her neck. As the final blow was about to be dealt, the games were stopped. Before getting any answers, Kimiko was whisked away. She was instantly pampered; given a warm bath and a full body massage. Then she ended up here. But she still didn't know where here was. A servant softly approached the Major as she stood on the balcony. "Wine for you, Mistress," A decorative glass was given too her. "Thank you," replied Kimi, taking a sip. Not usually her preference, but she could get used to it. "When you are prepared to retire, you bed has been properly made. I was told when the suns rises, you will be escorted to Master Marcus Quintus." "Of course. I look forward to meeting him. Thank you." Marcus Quintus? Why did that name seem familiar? The Major pondered for a moment. Yes, he was the one who had originally contacted Challenger. Perhaps with his help, she could get back to the ship. The servant gave a little bow and left the balcony. Sipping from her glass, Kimiko remained for a moment longer to gaze upon the city. It was a nice place, but she wouldn't want to live here; or die here for that matter.
  2. Cold. So cold. "Ugh…" Kimiko began to stir. Her eyes slowly opened and began to focus. Soon she started to realize she was on a solid rocky ground. Her body stiffened as she sat up. Where was she? Then she remembered. Kimi had been captured by the local authorities and was accused of being a barbarian. When she was at the small holding cell she encountered two individuals. They didn't give names, but they did mention she was to be moved to the Central Arena. The Major wanted to put up a fight, but the guards decided to pull out crude energy weapons. They must have still knocked her out despite her cooperation. This hadn't been the first time the Major had been imprisoned. Mostly it had been just as a precaution from some sort of altercation involving some punks trying to mess with her or her Marines. But this was different. Very different. These people actually believed she was an escaped barbarian. And now they were going to use her for their twisted games. But why was it still cold? There wasn't any type of commodity in the cell. Not even a bed or a simple sheet. "What the hell?!" yelled Kimiko as she looked down at herself. The jerks had stripped her, and dressed her to more fit the part of a barbarian. She now wore a loin cloth and a leather strip over her chest. Oh there was going to be hell to pay.
  3. Kimi gave a very slow exhale as she entered her quarters after a long shift. Going to the center of her room, she began peeling away her uniform till she was left in her tank top and shorts. She glanced over at the bathroom, knowing full well a nice warm shower was in order, but she had one last order of official business to attend to before she could relax. Going to her small desk in the corner, she sat down and activated her computer console. After a little thought, she began typing. To: Lt. Savros, Lt. Kas, Science Department Officers, Engineering Department Officers CC: Captain Seiben, Commander Ba'alyo Subject: Tactical Situation As you know, the ship and crew were recently placed in a hazardous situation while helping our newly acquainted friends. While encountering the strange subspace beings onboard the derelict ship, the away team found that our weapons were ineffective against the creatures. Therefore, I am tasking both departments to analyze the scans taken from both Challenger and the away team's tricorders to come up with a sound tactical solution, not only for hand weapons but the ship as well. This will allow us to be better prepared in the event we should encounter these beings again. I have confidence that with both departments working together an answer can be found. Major Kimiko Johnson Marine Commander USS Challenger Once the message was sent, the tired marine deactivated the console and rose from her seat. That warm shower was next on her list.
  4. Kimiko stood in the turbolift, ready to spring into action the moment the doors opened onto deck 15. For a time she wasn’t alone in the lift. Haskins had been with her until they reached deck 7. He was going to sickbay to move Cardinal out of harm’s way. The spy was convinced the intruders were after him. Haskins had wanted Kimiko to join him, but the ever stubborn marine commander refused. She knew Cardinal needed to be saved, but to Kimi her people were more important. So with a quick kiss on the cheek for good luck, the lift had continued down towards the fight on deck 15. Finally the lift stopped at its intended destination. It was time to join the fight. This was going to be a tough one. Save for the short scuffle when rescuing Cardinal, she had never been in a fight with Klingons before. But that was a part of being a marine, to be ready for anything. Kimi drew her pistol and took a long, deep breath. The doors finally opened…
  5. A few minutes before 2000 hours, Haskins stepped in front of the door to Challenger's Marine Captain's quarters. He reached his hand out to press the buzzer on the wall next to the door, but paused. Why had her demeanor changed so quickly? He closed his eyes and shook away the offending doubting question. Straightening his dress button down shirt, he pressed the buzzer. The door slide open as the Marine Captain stood before Haskins. She leaned against the bulkhead, her arms folded. She was wearing nothing but a pair of grey sweatpants and a white tanktop. A grin emerged on her face as she looked at the dressed up man. "I thought..." he stopped himself, and smirked. "Hello." "For a spy, you sure do like to over-impress. I didn't say anything about dressing up." Kimi stepped back into her room, allowing Haskins to step inside. "Get in here." Smirking again, Haskins stepped inside. "They teach us to impress at Intelligence." "I bet..." Kimiko said as she pointed to a couch. "Have a seat. I'll go get dinner." She then walked off into the other room. He took a seat on the couch, and relaxed just a little bit. Looking around, he saw that her quarters were sparsely decorated, with the exception of a surfboard on the wall. It was if she didn't spend much time there. Kimi returned a couple minutes later with two plates. They both had a cheeseburger and french fries on them. She hands one to Haskins. "I stopped by the mess hall. What, you probably expected I would cook too?" He looked at her. "One can hope... but this is just as well," he grinned, "I wouldn’t want to get my shirt all dirty pretending to know how to eat with a fork and a knife." "Shut up and eat, or else you won't get any dessert..." she said as she ate a fry. About to say something else, Haskins stopped, and picked up the cheeseburger, taking a bite. As he chewed, he looked over at her, sitting next to him. "Much better," she said before eating another fry. They sat there for a minute or so, Haskins feeling more awkward every second. Finally, he broke the silence. "So... I have to ask you..." Kimi put down her plate, looking at Haskins. "Hmm?" He stuck a fry in his mouth. "Do you normally invite people to dinner, and then not want to talk with them?" She sighs. "For someone in Intelligence, you aren't very bright. You can't talk with your mouth full..." Kimi threw a fry at him. "Didn't your mother teach you anything?" He smirked. "Yes... she taught me not to play with my food..." He flicked a fry off his plate towards her. Kimiko laughed as she moved a little closer to Haskins, setting her plate on the little table in front of the couch. He put his plate down as well. "Well well... I didn't think you knew how to laugh..." "You like to talk a lot..." She said as she moved in, kissing Haskins. He closed his eyes as she kissed him, and as their lips parted, he whispered into her ear, "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" "Just shut up and kiss me..." Stopping himself from saying anything else, he pushed her gently against the back of the small couch, and kissed her.
  6. The time was 1600 hours. Kimiko stood in the middle of the gym floor. She was wearing a grey tank top and dark blue gym shorts. Her mood wasn't that great, as she was impatiently waiting for the man she issued a challenge to earlier in the day. That man was Haskins. Haskins walked into the gym, and saw Kimiko waiting for him. He smirked, and crossed the room to meet her, wearing his own workout outfit of a blue t-shirt and long green pants. An angered look came over Kimi as Haskins crossed the floor. "You're late. I would have expected a little more from you." Haskins stopped a few feet from her, and looked at the chronometer on the far wall. "It's only 1601, Captain. I was visiting our friend in Sickbay." "To be early is to be on time. To be on time is to be late. Doesn't Starfleet Intelligence teach you anything?" "Apparently they don't teach us catchy phrases to learn regulations. Regulations just get in the way of our goals." "So it would seem," said Kimi, not wasting anymore time. She threw the first punch, aimed for Haskins' jaw. Haskins moved to duck the punch, and got hit on his forehead instead. He smirked. "Apparently you don't have a need for rules either..." "Like you said, Regs just get in the way." She threw another punch, following it up with a kick this time. Haskins blocked the punch with a wide swing of his arm, his leg almost buckling from the kick. A split second later, he found his ground, and used the back of his right hand to hit against Kimiko's ear, the center of the body's balance. Kimi took the hit, almost missing her footing while stepping to the left. "Not bad, but try not to hold back on me. I'm a big girl." She quickly took another stance, and retaliated with a roundhouse kick. Haskins ducked again, and again not fast enough, feeling the tip of her heels knock against the side of his head. Falling freely from the hit, he put his weight on his right hand and swung his legs around to collide with hers. Kimiko fell to the ground but quickly rolled backwards, soon finding herself back on her feet. She then closed the distance, thrusting an arm towards his shoulder. Haskins did a quick side-step, and used his opponent's speed against her by reaching and grabbing her chest as she rushed towards him, picking her up and turning her. He pushed her to the ground, pinning her with an arm. Kimi landed with a thud, taking a little wind out of her. But this didn't stop her, as she kicked at the leg she had incidentally shot during their mission. Haskins stepped back, grunting a little from the still-sore area, but came back again, ready to throw a punch. Kimiko dodged the punch as she got back to her feet. Anger seemed to blind her instincts as she thrust her fist towards Haskins chest. Haskins grabbed her wrist from the side, and pushed her by the chest back up against a wall, grinning. He pinned her arms to her sides. "I win," he said, and stole a kiss on her lips. "Mmph!" was all she could get out as their lips locked, a look of shock on her face. In that moment Haskins let his guard down. Kimi wrapped one of her legs around his and as soon as she freed her hands, she pushed down hard, slamming him to the mat. She soon landed on top of him, pinning him to the ground. "I still hate you," she said before locking her lips with his once more. Haskins grunted as she landed on him. As the second kiss broke up, he looked at her. "If this is what hate is.... I think I like it..." "Shut up…"

  13. Kimi quietly sat in her quarters on board the starbase. Her time on the Glory had ended early in order for the marine officer to prepare and assemble her team for the still unfinished Challenger. One of the perks of being noticed by the brass is you get to choose your own team. The other is you don't have to share a bunk room. Kimi didn't mind the bunks, but she definately looked forward to her own quarters. Looking through a stack of reports, Kimiko began to compile her list of marines. Staff Sergeant Theodore “Teddy” Rodgers III - Grizzly - Male - Human Sergeant Lilan Idrani - Ice Queen - Female - Andorian Sergeant M'Ryll - Fury - Male - Caitian Sergeant T’Lina - Frost - Female - Vulcan Corporal Edward Corbin - Toyman - Male - Human Corporal Emony Belar - Pixie - Female - Trill Corporal Natira Shadi - Foxy - Female - Betazoid Corporal Kristen Philips - Cookie - Female - Human Corporal Sean Rico - Wolfman - Male - Human Corporal Blake Hudgens - Doc - Male - Human Corporal Jason Walker - Falcon - Male - Human Corporal Nora Russell - Stormy - Female - Human Lance Corporal Vanessa Kelly - Angelfish - Female - Human Lance Corporal Telchax - Rocky - Male - Tellarite Lance Corporal Diane Baxter - Shadow - Female - Human Lance Corporal James Carter - Dingo - Male - Human Lance Corporal Aaron Hansen - Duke - Male - Human Lance Corporal Alan Sanders - Hawkeye - Male - Human Lance Corporal Megan Kalin - Vixen - Female - Human Lance Corporal Alex Sanchez - Road Runner - Male - Human And the list went on to include about twenty more names. When the list was completed, Kimiko signed the document and sent it to Colonel Hayes for final approval. After she was done, Kimi left the stack of reports and went off to relax for a while.
  14. General Information: Full Name: Kimiko Johnson Nickname: Kimi Call Sign: Mynx Gender: Female Age: 22 Species: Human (Half Japanese – Half American) Height: 5'6'' Weight: 113 lbs. Hair: Black, Shoulder length Eye Color: Dark brown Distinguishing Feature: Wildcat tattoo on right shoulder blade Place of Birth: Carlsbad, California, Earth Family: Akira Johnson (Father) Melissa Johnson (Mother) Kimiko Johnson (Great-great-grandmother, deceased) Service Information: Rank: Major Position: Marine Commander Assignment: USS Challenger Personal History: Kimi grew up listening to stories about her ancestor, and it was soon realized she was going to be just like her. Early in her life, Kimiko quickly started to show her adventurous side by taking up surfing, though normal for any young person growing up on the coast of California. But there was more to Kimi. She wanted to be a hero just like her namesake. Even though a Johnson had not served in the military for a couple generation, Kimiko was determined to join the marines and prove she was worthy of her name. Being the only child of Akira and Melissa, they were first against Kimi joining the military. They wanted her to remain on Earth and continue the family business, Kimi's Surf Shop and Beach Café, something that had also been in the family for generations started by the original Kimiko after her retirement from the marines. But the young Kimi fought for her dreams of traveling the stars, and was relentless in her pursuits. Her parents agreed, but under the condition that she go to officer school. And when the time came, Kimiko entered West Point. After graduation, Kimi received her first assignment as a marine officer on board the USS Glory. It was here she was given the call sign Mynx for being graceful and beautiful like a cat, but also quite dangerous. After receiving the name, Kimi had a tattoo of a wildcat put on her right shoulder blade, also similar in fashion to her ancestor's. After time, Kimiko proved her mettle as an officer and soon began to move up in the ranks. Not long after her promotion, she was reassigned her own marine command and transferred to the newly constructed USS Challenger. Training: Aside from Kimiko's basic combat and advanced marine training, she has been trained in starship tactical operations. She is also an accomplished pilot of smaller vessels such as shuttlecraft and marine fighters. 15. Hey Doug, you do know we have a mailstring don't you? :D
  16. (This log takes place the day before we ship out for our new assignment.) It was a beautiful day on the Californian shore. The sun was bright, barely a cloud in the sky. A cool breeze filled the air. But most of all, the waves were perfect. They were tall with wonderful curls, perfect for surfing. That's just how Kimiko liked it. The Californian native was already out in the water, waiting for the take off. It didn't take long for the perfect wave to appear. Kimi dropped into the wave, quickly standing up. She briefly stalled, allowing the curl to come over her. Kimiko stayed firm, riding through the tunnel. As she cleared it, she cut up and performed an aerial before slicing back into the wave. Johnson stayed out in the water, riding a few more waves before finally returning to the beach. She took her board and set it down by a towel she had laid out. The slender Asian-American then slipped out of her wet suit, revealing her dark blue bikini. A tattoo of a wildcat adorned her right shoulder blade. After ringing her hair of water, Kimi knelt down and began to wipe down her board. She was oblivious to an approaching figure. Stopping behind her the figure spoke up. "It's not everyday you see a shark out of water." The voice had an older male tone to it. Kimiko simply smiled as she continued to wipe her board. The voice was very familiar, almost as familiar to her as her parents. "And I didn't think they let dogs roam free on the beach." "Hey, give this old Devil Dog a break will ya?" He chuckled in reply. "Now are you gonna greet this old man properly, or are you gonna wipe a hole in your board?" Kimi put her rag down and quickly stood to face the man. He was an older man, wearing a bright, buttoned up beach shirt, khaki shorts, and sandals. His hair was long and grey, tired up into a ponytail. He was also clean shaven with the exception of a long, grey goatee. Smiling, she walked up and gave him a big hug. "It's good to see you Hank." Henry Rodgers is the owner of Hank's Surf Shop and Beach Café. He is a long time friend and mentor to Kimiko. To her, he is more like a second father. It was Hank that first taught Kimi how to surf. He simply grinned as he returned her hug. "Hi kiddo, how's marine life treating you?" "It's going great. Did you hear where they have me stationed?" replied the young MACO. Hank nodded, "I heard they got you on some ship, flying around. What's this world coming to, sending marines out into space? They should leave that stuff up to those fleeters." "Well someone has to keep those fleeters out of trouble," Kimiko laughed. "Besides, the marines have changed since you were in the service old man." Henry simply grinned as he shifted Kimi a little to get a good look at her right shoulder. "A new tat huh? I suppose your old man hasn't seen it. Maybe I should tell him." "You better not," Johnson said, poking Hank in the chest with her finger. "You know he thinks you're a bad influence on me anyways. He'll probably think you talked me into it." "I'm a bad influence? Why that stiffed necked, old…" he stopped there, quickly changing the subject. "So are you going to Hawaii for the competition this year?" Kimi frowned at the question. "I can't make it. We ship out tomorrow. I just wanted to make sure I got some surfing in before then." "That's a shame. People are going to be sad when they find out The Great Mynx isn't going to be able to defend her championship." "Well times are a little rough lately. We're on the brink of war…" "Whoa stop there," Hank interrupted. "I don't need an explanation. I know it's your duty. You have to be there." He bent down, picking up Kimiko's surf board. "By the way, I heard you were running that shark outfit on your ship. You better take care of my nephew, Ted. My sister would kill me if she found out anything happened to him." Kimi was a little shocked. "Teddy? He's your nephew? I had no idea." Hank nodded, "Yeah for some reason he wanted to be a marine like me. I tried to tell him surfing was better, but wouldn't ya know it, the boy is afraid of water." Kimiko laughed at the idea. Teddy Rodgers, codenamed Kodiak, was a strong and muscular man. It was hard to believe a guy like him was afraid of water. "Well…Come on. Let's go get you some food. Hard telling what they feed you now days." "Pretty well actually. Chef is good at what he does. But I've been dreaming about having one of your world famous coladas. I better get one now. I have no idea when we'll be back." Kimi collected her wetsuit and beach towel. She quietly walked with Hank down the beach, to his café. As the duo walked, they watched as the sun began to set over the Pacific.
  17. Just a friendly reminder. It's not USS Challenger. It's UES Challenger. ^_^
  18. Kimiko was in her quarters. Her first official shift on board the Challenger was about to start soon. She had finished changing into her uniform and was making some last minute touch-ups. Shaow was settling into her new office as best she could, but the whole situation was surreal. The Caitian had enrolled in the OEP to study and learn on a human vessel - and found herself landed in a chief position. The formerly brown and now blond furred Cait shook her head in an annoyed manner, but perked up a bit when she started looking over a data slate that showed information on the MACOs. JoNs flipped at the small comm inset on her desk with a paw. "Lieutenant JoNs to Second Lieutenant Johnson..." Kimi placed her finger on the wall console. "Johnson here. What can I do for you Ma'am?" "I'd like you to come by the security offices before your duty shift." "Yes Ma'am. I'm on my way." Releasing the comm button, the MACO grabbed her jacket, putting it on as she went out the door. After a short trip down to F Deck, Kimiko arrived at the security office. She walked in, immediately snapping to attention. "2nd Lieutenant Johnson reporting as ordered." JoNs stood out of respect. "Pleased to make your acquaintance." Her accent came out in heavy purrs, and she smiled. "But, right now, we are speaking as section head to section head. Let's do away with the sirs and ma'ams and ranks. Have a seat. " Kimi took a relaxed position. "Of course." Taking a seat, the MACO studied her Starfleet counterpart's features carefully. This was her first time meeting a Caitian. The young Caitian was also taking in the woman's fatigues and general bearing. "This is my first meeting with a MACO. I admit, the Caitian fleet does not employ a similar group." "I assure you, we're here to make your job easier," Kimiko said with a slight smile. "How long have you served, ah, Kimiko?" "You may call me Kimi if you wish." The Asian American straightened her uniform jacket. "To be honest, not long. It's my first assignment. This is a big learning experience for me." A smile blossomed across JoNs's furred features. "That is fine - this is my first assignment as well with the Officer Exchange Program. I too am learning. I think we will both compliment each other well." Kimi grinned at the Caitian officer. "Then we will be learning together." "Aye! I must ask - in addition to working together, I was wondering if you would be interested in showing me, possibly some minor training, with regard to your MACOs weapons and tactics so that I may...understand?" Her tail flicked around in anticipation. "That would be fine. If you'd like, I'm meeting my team at 1400 hours to get to know them. I'm sure they would all be willing to put on a display." Shaow nodded in respect to her MACO counterpart. "That will be fine. If I am too," the Caitan fumbled, searching for the correct wording, "...command, I need to understand everything about this department and the resources, and the personnel.' Kimi nodded, "Very good. We will be meeting in the armory. I'll even schedule some time in the shooting range." Shaow's low purring intensified, and she grinned, showing her fangs. "Excellent!" Kimiko stood from her seat as she smiled at Shaow. "Great, I'll see you at 1400 then. As for now, my shift is about to begin. Was there anything else you needed to discuss with me?" JoNs stood and walked around the desk, her hind paws padding lightly against the decking. She offered the human a paw. "Nothing, merely a welcome to the ranks." Kimi looked at the paw for a split second, and then gripped it with her hand. "Thank you."
