  1. "Karaoke Night"

    Joint Log: Vectra & Miranda

    Stardate: 20508.22

After T'Vin's song, Miranda leans over to Vectra. "that was

interesting, never heard a vulcan sing before"

Vectra chuckled. "Yes, me neither. I didn't know they had it in them"

he said as he sipped on his drink.  "I wonder who's next?"

She takes a drink and shrugs.

"I didn't know you sang Vectra another betazoid thing. You have a ver

    nice voice by the way"

Vectra smiled. "Well, thanks. I learned back in  England."

she gives him a sly smile "let me guess boys choir"

"Heh.. yeah.  London choir"  he chuckled.

she laughs "well they taught you well then, I am glad that you know

some good old musicals, not many people do these days"

Vectra did nod his aggreance. "Yeah. Shame really.  Almost a lost art,

    these days. That's alright though.."

He looked and smiled at Miranda.  "Will you go up and do something?"

Her eyes get slightly wide "back up a sec, did you say it was alright

if theatre became a lost art? Theatre is a passion and as long as

there are the few who love it, it will never die.  And in my opinon

    that is a good thing"

"Oh yes. I agree.. definately us.."  replied Vec

she laughs slightly "now your trying to cover up for that, its

alright I get a little crazy sometimes about it"

she takes a small sip of her drink "speaking of theatre, I have been

trying to recruite a dance partner"

Vectra raised a brow" Oh yeah? Whatever for?"

Smiling at him "just for fun, holodeck men have no passion, I guess

    thats why they aren't real"

"Ahh.. well of course.  I'd be willing to lend a hand"  smiled Vectra.

It was gratifying to have someone who shared his like to dancing.

Her smile gets a little wider "oh goody"

she quickly glances down at the llist of kareoke "I don't know if I

    should sing"

"Oh why's that. I'm sure you have a nice voice?"  said Vectra.

She continues to scan through the songs "I am to critical of myself, I

keep hearing my mothers voice in my head yelling at me to get it right"

She looks up at him "you know what I mean?"

He nodded. "Yes.. I do. I'm like from time to time myself"  Vectra

shrugged. "I suppose it comes naturally, eh?"

"Oh yes your a telepath, guess you hear it more than me " she laughs a bit

Vectra chuckled. "Yep... at least when your mother's voice is in your

    head, it's from your sub-conscious"

She starts to laugh a bit harder "alright you win that one"

Vectra smirked.  "Going to go up?"  he asked, in a change of subject.

She chooses a song quickly "alrighty her goes"

Vectra smiled, as he saw Mirnada go up. "Break a leg"  citing the old

theatre term for 'good luck'. She winks at him and makes her way to

    the stage to sing.

  2. Dr Desdemona Levy

    Chief Medical Officer

A Log by Levy – Hard or Easy…hard it is

Mona looked at the body of the dead engineer. She had scanned it numerous times and each time had come up with heart failure. She mused to herself, how does a few coarse words and a minor scuffle cause someone’s heart to stop. She new she needed to take a closer look at the body. But with the little she new about their physiology and without anyone to authorize it she was unsure of how to proceed. Fist thing was first she needed info. She glanced around and located a console to her right. Examining it she tried to tap a few buttons to bring up some medical files. No luck. She would have to do it the old fashioned way, she scanned the body once more. They seemed to have most of the same organs as many humanoids. Heart, a little lower and more towards the middle of the chest. Lungs, slightly closer together, kidneys, liver, it was all accounted for. Plus a few extra organs the she would like to examine further. She looked around quickly and decided to make a bold move. She pulled out her laser scalpel. Glancing around again Mona moved the tool across the women’s chest in one fluid motion. In a normal autopsy this would have been the point she would have started her examination, but her scalpel was not working. She looked at the tool and tested it out on a small piece of her sleeve, yes it was working. She tried it again on the body, once more nothing. “Odd” she thought. She ran the scalpel over the body repeatedly and still nothing. Mona looked at the dead engineer a little annoyed. “Oh you gonna make this difficult. Well two can play at that game.”

  3. Dr Miranda Porter

    Assistant Medical Officer

    A Log – I Won’t Dance

Miranda sat on a biobed in sickbay smiling. She had been are the Arc for sometime and yet something seemed to be missing. She thought to earlier in the day as she stood on the holodeck looking at her frozen dance partner she realized what it was. A real person to dance with. The holodeck people we fine but there was something about their dancing that wasn’t quite organic. She smirked and thought “most likely cuz they aren’t real” She examined the man standing opposite her. She had asked the holodeck for a Latin dance partner, what she got was interesting to say the least. He was an average height with long black hair pulled back. He was very tan with a pencil thin mustache and a cheesy smile. His tight black pants made his legs look longer than they were and his open shirt made her laugh. What was her father thinking when he gave her the program. She shrugged. “Computer begin program” The man sprang to life. He stepped closer to her and put his arms around her and whispered into her ear with a bad accent “are you ready to dance” He said that to her every time they danced and every time she had had to fight so she didn’t burst into laughter. He tightened his grip as the music started to play. He spun her out and she raised her free hand in the air and looked back at him. He smiled at her and made a biting motion with his mouth. She quickly pulled her hand away. “Yuck” she laughed “computer stop program. This will never do.” Now as she came back to the present she realized she might actually find a real partner. Aaron wouldn’t dance with her, she never seemed to be able to get a hold of Vectra and although she didn’t really know how Fitz danced, she was sure she could work with it. In the end anything was better than the swanky Latin man she had left on the holodeck.

  6. I was making my sister watch some star trek with me the other day and she aasked me a question. For as long as I have been watching the show I never really thought about it. She asked me why it never seems as if people wait for the turbolift on the show. Its so true, how many of those things to they have on a ship that it never seems that anyone waits for them. I would like to think that there is a random ens somewhere who has been waiting forever for one. So can anyone help me. Why is ther never a wait, there is always a TL waiting? How many are there?

  7. Alright here are another few quotes that I like. But once again I can never remember who said them....

I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Booze is the answer. I don't remember the question.

Weird people are like chocolate cake... some people can't handle the richness

So what are you going to do? Release the dogs, or the bees, or the dogs with bees in their mouths so when they bark they shoot bees at you?

    Homer Simpson

I imagine a world of love, peace, and no wars. Then I imagine myself attacking that place because they would never expect it!

  8. Cookies and Questions and Empaths, oh my!

A Joint Log by Sydney Richardson and Desdemona Levy

Mona was pacing in her office at the point that Sydney was walking through the corridors. It had been a couple of days so far, and both the women were feeling a bit restless. Mona moved to the doorway of her office, looking out at the main sickbay, where a nurse was walking around.

As Sydney entered the sickbay, she nearly bumped into the nurse, which sent Syd scrambling to keep upright and not drop the plate she was carrying. Mona stifled a giggle while watching Sydney make her way over. "Hello there, Richardson, is there something we can do for you?" she called out. "I hope you are not hurt in any way, but it's very rare that we get visitors in here."

"I brought you and Mia and… Dr. Shoeny… some cookies!" Syd informed her cheerfully. Then more quietly she added, "But I need to ask you something…"

Mona smiled. "Why, thank you for the cookies. I am always here to help, so ask away… unless you would like to step into my office?"

Sydney looked left and right and then stepped into Mona's office. In a too-loud whisper, she told her, "I heard from a science coworker, who heard this from a security dude, who heard this from another security dude, who has a friend in science who is dating a nurse... that Dr. Shoeny... doesn't eat solid food."

Stifling a laugh, Mona asked, "It took you that many people to find that out? You might have just asked him… bit I will fill you in on a little something." She whispered, "It's true: he doesn't eat solid food.

Thinking about asking Dr. Shoeny himself, Sydney blurted out, "But he's… well, he's…" she sighed. "He scares me, okay? And I don't want to upset him by offering him a cookie if he can't eat one. And I wanted to do something for you guys... erm… doctors. Sorry sir."

They both sat down and took a cookie to munch on. "Well," Mona began, "he is actually a very nice man… er… fishman."

Syd clamped a hand over her mouth and then slowly lowered it. "You think of him as Mr. Fishman too?"

"Well, I wouldn't say it to his face," Mona told her, a coy smile playing over her face.

Looking at her uneaten cookie in one hand, Mona asked, "May I ask what kind these are?"

"Oatmeal raisin," Syd informed her with a proud grin. "My personal favorite, so I hope you're not allergic or anything."

Mona took a bite. "Not at all, in fact they are my favorite as well. I used to eat them with my grandmother on Betazed."

    "Betazed? Are you a Betazoid?"

With a nod, she confirmed, "I am only half, but I spent a lot of time there."

"So, the whole empathy thing… is it still strong with you?"

"Yes, and I am reading your mind right now." With a grin, Mona added, "I am just kidding. I am an empath, but I try to stay out of peoples minds, although I do slip at times…"

Sydney giggled. "Some people tell me that I'm… empathetic or whatever. I don't know I've never really understood that whole thing." Her thoughts started drifting back to her grandmother, then floated off to think about Mona reading her mind, and her face got serious as she became deep in thought.

Watching Syd for a moment, Mona then asked, "Are you empathetic at all, or just one of those people who reads other people well?"

Snapping back to reality, Syd answered, "I've no clue. I didn't realize there was a difference between the two."

"Well, I can sense people's moods and feelings but at the same time you can look at body language. For example, Colonel Harper came in the other day and not only could I sense she does not like sickbay, but her body language did not hide it very well either." Mona smiled, "But as I said before, not many people like sickbay, only us doctors."

Shrugging, Syd admitted, "I don't know really. I just walk into a room and sometimes I'll go 'wow, something's up' even before I note the people. Other times, I can figure out a person one way or another." She munched quietly on her cookie.

"Maybe your are a bit empathic as well." Mona munched on her own cookie as well. "These are really good. Did you make them yourself?"

"Oh yes, I don't like the replicator's way of doing things... however I use the replicator for the ingredients..." Syd looked a bit confused at herself, then shook her head, "Anyways, I love cooking." She nodded at Mona and then looked around, wondering how long she had spent in here. "Perhaps it's time for me to be going... you're probably busy..."

Mona laughed quietly and then said, "Alrighty then, thank you for the cookies. I will make sure everyone gets one. And my door is open any time, I always enjoy company."

Sydney took a last look at Mona, thinking to herself about the question she could have asked Mona. She opened her mouth as if to say something, then stopped and turned to the doorway. At the last moment she looked back and said, "Alrighty, bye!" and walked out, inwardly chiding herself for being so silly sometimes.

  9. ok so her are some of my fav's. The first 2 are Stargate. The others are just random ones I like

Oneill : Ooh. Alright. I'll be honest with you, Bob. My name's not Kirk. It's Skywalker. Luke Skywalker."

Urgo: I wanna live, I wanna experience the universe, and I wanna eat pie.

    Jack: Hey, who doesn't?

What would happen in a battle between an Enterprise security team, who always gets killed soon after appearing and a squad of Imperial Stormtroopers, who can’t hit the broad side of a planet?

Does the expression “When in Rome, do as the Roman’s do” apply to all cities or just Rome?

Give me liberty or give me death…but preferably liberty.

  10. I have never in my life had a Trekkie dream. I think that the day I do I shall hang my hat and refuse to watch it ever again in fear!

It's funny, I have never had a trek dream before. This was the first one and the fact that it had Data (who is not one of my favorite characters), beer helmets and sand castles kinda freaks me out. Maybe it says something about me ::shrugs and takes off her beer helmet and walks away::

  11. So I woke up this morning thinking about the dream I just had. I spent 5 min in my bed laughing. I don't remember much about the dream but here goes.

I am sitting on a towel at the beach just looking out at the ocean. I am with someone but I don't really know who. All of a sudden Data (thats right folk, brent spiner) comes walking up and sits down next to me. He is wearing a beer helmet (the construction had with beer cans attached) and offer me the other hat that he is holding. Then he helped me build a sand castle, while we both wore the beer helmets.

It was not a amazing dream by any means but now I can't get the image of Data in a beer helmet out of my head. Just thought it was funny and wanted to see if anyone else has hand any odd star trek type dreams.

  12. I remember Neopets from the early - mid 90's; I think it started out as an electronic keychain game?

Someone in my family got me a key chain Yoda to take everywhere with me when they were really popular. Long story short, he wouldn't clean up his hut and I got mad and took his batteries out. He still sits on my desk but I don't have the heart to put his battery back in cuz I know he won't clean. It was a life lesson. Since then I have killed 3 fish and 2 plants. I should never have kids. :P
