The USS Gossage (Norway Class) is en route Talis V, a small M class planet within Federation space. The Talisians have dwindled to a population of less than 1,000 people, having contracted an incurable disease that affects their species only.
Although the society is pre-warp, the Federation Council permitted contact in effort to save the dying species. As part of that contact the Talisians asked the Federation to provide food and other necessary supplies as most had become too weak to provide for themselves.
The Gossage has been assigned to deliver a month's worth of supplies and any other reasonable requests to ease the Talisians' passage into history. ETA is 10 minutes.

Intergalactic 'shot in the dark' shocks astronomers.
A team of astronomers at Penn State and Caltech has discovered a cosmic explosion that seems to have come from the middle of nowhere -- thousands of light-years from the nearest galaxy-sized collection of stars, gas and dust. This "shot in the dark" is surprising because the type of explosion, a long-duration gamma-ray burst (GRB), is thought to be powered by the death of a massive star. The blast was detected on Jan. 25 by several spacecraft of the Inter-Planetary Network. Observations by NASA's Swift satellite, controlled from its Mission Operation Center at Penn State, pinpointed the explosion, named GRB 070125 for its detection date, to a region of sky in the constellation Gemini. It was one of the brightest bursts of the year, and the Caltech/Penn State team moved quickly to observe the burst's location with ground-based telescopes. What came next was a total surprise.

The USS Gargle (Norway Class) is en route to a small space station maintained by the people of Narus III. The station, which is in space, is connected to the planet's surface via an orbital tether (see Memory Alpha).
The leadership of Narus III has become increasingly concerned about the integrity of the tether, as it is showing signs of age.
The people of Narus III rely on this technology for several reasons, most important of which is interstellar commerce. Should all go according to plan, the crew of the Gargle might even get a few days off to spend on the station.

Mission Briefing:
Alone, helpless. Those are the words that describe your present situation. The USS Jeremiah (Norway Class) was brutally attacked while conducting a routine science mission to a class Y planet in the outer reaches of Federation space.
Had not the attacking vessel become spooked by the Federation's long range detection system, the Jeremiah surely would have been destroyed.
The Jeremiah is currently on reserve power, that is failing rapidly, with only minimal life support. Gravity remains intact, but the systems that control it are badly damaged. The hull has several breaches, some of which are secured. There are wounded.
If the crew of the Jeremiah are to survive, they must work together.

The USS Voyager (Intrepid Class) sits in orbit around Earth, waiting for final approval to land. The landing location is Olympia, Greece, where the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic flame is about to take place.
The Voyager’s orders are to land, take aboard Federation President Nanietta Bacco, who will carry the torch into the ship, and set a course for Cestus III, Bacco’s home planet and the first of several stops for the Olympic flame.

“This can’t be good.”
It had been . . . how long? . . . since Jami Farrington had worked OPS, and she was getting an entirely new appreciation of Margaux Roget’s talents. Jami was sure the board had changed. Or maybe it just seemed to have changed. What used to be automatic movements were labored, her fingers searching for the correct position, her brain searching for the correct combinations, and let’s not even talk about TAC-OPS crossovers. Thank the gods for Crystal’s even temperament and her expertise at TAC. Knowing Crystal was there relieved some of Jami’s anxiety. Crystal understood the pressure they were under and the need for patience with an OPS-challenged senior officer.
But there were more important things to think about besides Jami’s elephant-stomping on the OPS console. Manticore’s best officers were aboard an experimental runabout about to challenge – and hopefully board – a crystal ghost ship that only appeared when they ran battle simulations. Trying to wrap her mind around the crystal ghost ship part was hard enough, and now they were boarding it?
They were flying a new assault craft, the Chimera: state-of-the-art, but no shakedown. Unproven but well armed: pulse cannons, quantum launchers, quantum torps, not to mention the loaded-for-bear weapons lockers, she was a tactical officer’s dream. With regenerative advanced shields and ablative hull armor and a warp capability of 6.2 for 2 hours she could easily hold her own.
But the most disconcerting part was that Manticore’s prime officers were aboard. Not a crewman #6 among them. Executive Officer Sovak, Security Chief Precip with his best officers Faldek, McFly and Kenickie; Medical Chief Kyle Mele and his newest officer Ritah Lowen; Science Chief Keb Mizu, Nav. Specialist Doug T, and Warp Specialist Richard Hilee. All were needed for the nature of the mission: highly specialized observation and surgical insertion for search and rescue. And as the mission progressed, the Chimera in place outside the bounds of the simulation and the battle simulation begun, a sense of déjà vu settled over the remaining bridge crew.
And Jami Farrington began to feel more and more that this was a bad idea. It began at the base of her spine and worked itself up to make the hair on the back of her neck stand on end, then turned violently to twist her insides into a Gordian knot. Energy beams pummeled the Manticore as Chimera closed in, drilling a hole in the crystalline ship’s defenses and finally allowing the boarding party access.
The crystalline ghost ship, strangely oblivious to Chimera’s presence, abruptly changed and hit Manticore with an intensely-focused energy weapon. Power on the Manticore blinked. Holoemitters failed. The crystal ship vanished . . .
. . . along with Captain Sovak and most of the crew of Chimera.
Jami froze at the sight, her mouth dropping open into a barely audible, “This can’t be good.”

The year is 2392 and a pandemic has broken out among several human colonies. The USS Bennett (Akira Class) has been dispatched to Dyer VI, who recently began distribution of a remedy. The Bennett has been asked to provide security, but there may be an even bigger problem. According to recent reports, several trading vessels have been turned away for failure to possess the correct “currency.” As the Federation is a cashless society, this has been some cause for alarm.ETA is 15 minutes.
