  1. Happy Happy Birthday Precip! For your birthday, I leave you with a famous Bolian quote that has nothing to do with Birthdays, but I figured it fit you as CSEC and all. "You couldn't ambush a Bolian if he was blindfolded and tied to a tree." - Nog to Brunt DS9 / "The Magnificent Ferengi"
  2. Sometimes I think that new players develope their characters way to quickly these days. I see them hopping into sims and shoving right off into the tradgedies of their characters lives. Sure, it's great, but I think that it might make things harder on fitting into the crew. Not only are you dealing with moving into a new ship, with a new crew, who has in jokes and friendships, but you're also advancing to a new level of simming. I don't really believe that's the greatest time to be devleoping your character. When I joined the Manticore, I left my character alone. He was human. His bio stated he was born in Iowa, knew he wanted to go into Starfleet, and was an intelligent person. Beyond that I left it empty, on purpose. I didn't want to have a bunch of information previous that I couldn't explain later on. I gave myself 6 months before I began to actually develop my character, going into his past and all. Slowly, I carefully took things in the right direction that I had figured would work. If I had rushed into things, trying to develope my character to quickly, I would have had difficulty adjusting to life on an advanced sim. Not to mention made mistakes with my character that I wouldnt' like later on. Since I started developing my character, I've taken my time. Over the processes of several months I explored how he reacted to the supposed death of his brother (who is really in the Delta Quadrant, on the IKC-Qob Lakota). Then, I've moved on, exploring his spiritual side. I've been very carefully, slowly moving in. Testing the waters so to say. This way, I get an idea of what I want to do before I do it. I haven't touched my Arcadia character. He needs to be developed, but I've been unsure of how to procede. I've been slowly thinking about it and in time I will begin to work with him, but I think as of this point I need more time before I hop in. There is no rush to developing your character. Take your time. Enjoy it. Quality over Quantity with character information is a good slogan.
  3. Happy Happy Birthday Trichon!
  4. Ok, so, back on topic. I'm playing three Humans currently on three different sims. If you want to know why I'm playing them, simple, I know what being Human is about. Some of you might know this, but I was on the USS Reaent for a good 6 months I believe. I played a Klingon security officer. Soon however, I had timing conflicts and have to leave the ship. Being Klingon was a challenge. It's hard to do things you wouldn't normally do in real life. It's also hard when you're still learning to sim. Untill you've been simming for a few years, you're new. Simming is like anything else, practice improves you. I think that being Klingon at the time was hard and frustrating. I didn't understand fully how I could play my character. I think that now, if I went back and tried again, I might do a better job than I did. So, after I was forced to leave the Reaent due to time conflicts, I decided to stay with human, but create some interesting traits in them. My Lakota character had illegal genetic engineering done to him. He's forced to keep that a secret or else he could be exposed. (I only learned about Bashir's genetic engineering after I created my Lakota character, no connection there) In time, I may try to be another alien character, but I'm enjoying playing humans. We have more challenges than most people. It's helped me to learn about myself and grow. On telepathy, I would never pick a character who is a telepath. To complicated. Plus, I don't really like telepaths. It creates conflicts in sims that can cause larger problems if rules are not followed. Now, if you've been simming for several years, perhaps then a person has the ability to be a reasonable telepath, but it has to be done carefully.
  5. Precip, Precip, Precip... you have a whole set of targets... I mean, security officers you can use. Why must you use my red-shir... I mean, engineers? Hope you had a carefree day Tovan. As I said in the other post... Happy Birthday!
  6. Happy Birthday Tovan! As you Vulcans like to say, Live Long and Prosper!
  7. Heck, we could just have Admiral Garnoopy of the Federation defect and join the Pandarians.
  8. Oh, I was so cruel. I was getting together with a group of people for dinner and such. I show up late, and sit down slouched all looking all upset. They ask what's going on. So, I explain that as I was sitting at a red light this afternoon, a city bus rear ended me and sent my car into the intersection. I barely managed to throw it into first gear, let the clutch up and move so I didn't get hit in the side from traffic coming from my left. I had a passanger with me, who was also attending the dinner and playing along. I explained how upset I was, how the rear end of my car is trashed, and how I had spent two hours filling out paperwork with the police department. They were all so sympathetic, giving hugs and telling me to call my Doctor to scheduel an appointment, for 10 minutes they were at least. Untill someone went out to see the damage to my car, of which there was none.
  9. Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Well, it's time to celebrate your birthday, it happens every year We'll eat a lot of broccoli and drink a lot of beer You should be good and happy that there's something you can eat A million people every day are starving in the street Your daddy's in the gutter with the wretched and the poor Your mama's in the kitchen with a can of Cycle Four There's garbage in the water There's poison in the sky I guess it won't be long before we're all gonna die Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Well, what's the matter little friend, you think this party is the pits Enjoy it while you can, we'll soon be blown to bits The monkeys in the pentagon are gonna cook our goose Their finger's on the button, all they need it an excuse It doesn't take a military genius to see We'll all be crispy critters after World War III There's nowhere you can run to, nowhere you can hide When they drop the big one, we all get fried (Come on boys and girls, sing along, ok?) Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Happy birthday to you wow! (background screaming, sound effect) Well there's a punk in the alley and he's looking for a fight There's an Arab on the corner buying everything in sight There's a mother in the ghetto with another mouth to feed Seems that everywhere you look today there's misery and greed I guess you know the Earth is gonna crash into the sun But that's no reason why we shouldn't have a little fun So if you think it's scary, if it's more than you can take Just blow out the candles and have a piece of cake Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Happy birthday to you wow! Happy birthday Happy birthday to you Happy birthday Happy birthday to you (Happy Birthday!) And a pinch to grow an inch! - Weird Al Yankovic, "Happy Birthday Song" Happy Birthday Travis, for only you would I post the lyrics to the infamous Weird Al song. I knew you'd appreciate them.
  10. Well, I was totally expecting something this year, so I logged in looking for a post from someone with something totally unreasonable happening. Last years was totally funnier. Especially considering I got Instant messages from GM's asking me what was going on! Of course, we have to realize, anyone who's seen an April Fools prank on STSF will not think the next years is funny, you're expecting it. So, I hope the newbies who haven't seen them before got a good laugh. And I think Admiral Garnoopy would have been great.
  11. Lieutenant Commander Garnoopy Chief Engineering Officer USS Manticore, NCC-5852 Personal Log Stardate 50403.27 “Live A Little” Flight. Air whipping across your body. Trees rustling from the wind. Sun glinting off the smooth watered surface so far below. Sound seems to cease. The world around pauses, holding its breath. Nothing happens. Gravity pulls. You begin to head downwards. Slowly at first. Every so slowly. Then you are pulled faster and faster. The air rushes at a higher speed. Without warning the play button is hit and you fall fully. Destroying the smooth watered surface below you as your body hits and submerges into the warm liquid. Sounds mute as your head goes under for a few moments, then you pop up, laughing and grinning up at the bank. Garn grinned wildly as he climbed out of the stream. Here he was, trapped in the future and his only concern was how high he could get off his new creation, a simple swing hooked to a tree on the beautiful grassy bank. He trudged up and climbed back on, pulling the ropes backwards while kicking his legs forward. The law of physics would allow him to swing higher and higher each time. Climbing above the earth below. People often believe that once you grow up you must leave behind those simple things you loved as a child. But why? Higher and higher Garn went, grinning wildly. Closing his eyes every so often to feel the wind whipping across him and through his hair. His body warmed by the sun above. Life could end at any point. No one had expected life to end five thousand years ago, but it did. How many people didn’t live their dreams? How many people didn’t take that extra time to enjoy life? Why must you give up those little things in life as you grow older? Now Garn was on Earth. Not his Earth, but Earth none the same. The responsibilities were minimal, with the systems working fine on the Manticore. It was no longer his job to get them back to the Earth they knew. So, he was living life. So few times had he been able to simply enjoy himself. A Federation starship didn’t often provide time for silly trips down memory lane. Yet those silly trips are so very important. Silly is something Garn believed that is required in everyone’s life. If you cannot let yourself go and do something crazy for fun, what’s the point in living? After all, a swing is silly, right? There is no logical point to it. It provides no benefit to your job in any way, shape, or form. Yet the feeling of the wind whipping and the earth flying below were something that one cannot describe. It’s a feeling that makes all other life’s worries disappear for a few minutes. They don’t matter on a swing. He let go and flew through the air. He wasn’t thinking. Only feeling. Every single worry, every single life problem, every single thing that could bother him wasn’t in his mind. Not one thought plagued him while he was in the air. He was free of all the stress that we all feel every day in life. Then, he’d hit the water and be submerged. Adrenalin pumping through his body and as he burst out of his submergence he’d laugh. A laugh that is only heard when happiness is true. Can you say you’ve had many moments of true happiness? The world around us often takes that away and what happiness you do express is only minor. It isn’t truly felt inside you. For true happiness can only come when you have nothing bothering you. Life is too short to not enjoy. So, Garn climbed back out of the stream and trudged up the bank. He was going to take another dose of life.
  12. In case no one knew (I didn't), today is the day in which we celebrate the number pi! Can you believe it, we almost missed it! Today is 3:14, which is the first three digits of pi. In case anyone is interested, here are the first 10,000 digits of pi! Enjoy! 3. 1415926535 8979323846 2643383279 5028841971 6939937510 5820974944 5923078164 0628620899 8628034825 3421170679 8214808651 3282306647 0938446095 5058223172 5359408128 4811174502 8410270193 13. Ouch Fred, that hurts.
  14. Lieutenant Commander Garnoopy Chief Engineering Officer USS Manticore, NCC-5852 Personal Log Stardate 50403.07 “Animal Guide” Wind blew through his hair and clouds lazily drifted overhead. The warm summer sun heated the earth and brought warmth to Garn’s body. The sound of grass ruffling was the only one that his ears picked up on. He slowly leaned forward over his crossed legs to bring his face close to the earth. Eyes closed he felt the world around him. His chest rose and fell, bringing new life into his body and his mind cleared. His hands gently rested on the small piece of technology he had learned to use many years ago from a good friend. Slowly he lifted his head, looking up to see an animal approaching, his animal guide. He stood slowly, letting her move over to him. She had walked with him throughout his entire life. She smiled, “It’s been a while Garn.” “Very true.” “You’re worried.” “Also true” he said. “Why?” His eyes adverted from her soft brown ones, “I don’t know.” “Yes you do,” she said. “You’re probably right.” She looked away from him, seeming to study something in the distance, then looked back, “Tell me what’s bothering you.” Garn sighed, “I don’t know. I guess, it’s just, well, this planet. This life. I don’t know what to do.” “You know what to do. That isn’t your problem.” “You’re right. I know what to do. Just build a new warp core out of scratch” he said, almost sarcastically. She looked at him thoughtfully, “You sound doubtful.” “No, I’ve been studying for the warp core. I can do it in a few years, it’s just, that” he paused, letting the words trail off. “It’s just what?” she said. He looked at her for a moment, then looked away, “I don’t know if I want to build it.” “You want to stay on the planet.” “Perhaps. Maybe. I don’t know,” he said. “It’s just, well, it’s so peaceful. I no longer feel the pain of my losses in life. The Federation and its duties seem so far away. The world I knew is just so distant.” “It doesn’t seem real, does it.” “No, it doesn’t. And every day that I remain here it moves a little farther away and a little less desirable to get to.” She moved forward a few steps, “You miss it.” “Yes.” “But you like it here also.” “Yes.” She looked at him, “In time you will know.” He looked at her, “I just, wish I already knew.” “I must warn you, soon you will be faced with a predicament. A predicament that forces you to question the decisions of your elders and their logic. You will be forced to decide whether to follow them blindly or defy them.” “What kind of predicament?” “I cannot tell you that now. You will know when the time comes. You must be strong for that. I will support you all I can.” He looked up at the clouds, “I know you will. You always have. I’d ask you for more information but I know you wouldn’t give it to me.” She smiled, “You’re perceptive.” “No, I’ve just learned from experience with you.” “It is time for you to go,” she said. “Go back to your warp core.” “I will.” “I’m always with you.” Garn smiled at that, and gently took a deep breath. His eyes shut and a moment later when they opened she was gone.
  15. Your story makes sense, but I read a different story. The curved phaser in Star Trek DS9, Voyager, and the later movies was called a "scorpio" phaser due to it's curved body. The reason for the design change was not only to make it look more advanced, but to help provide actors with an easiar ability to aim. This also allowed special effects produces an easiar ability to edit in the phaser beam. Maybe I'm wrong. Research is required I guess. :)
  16. Well, it came out today. The moment you've either been dreading, looking forward to, or could have cared less about. Star Trek Voyager, Season 1 came out on DVD. And lemme tell you, it's an orange DVD. Not just any orange, it's neon orange. You can't miss it when you're walking through the stores, unless your blind that is. Ok, so, I admit it, I bought it. The only DVD I've ever purchased in my life. The only set of DVDs I ever plan on purchasing. Voyager is my favorite of the series. My first episode of Star Trek was Unimatrix Zero, Part II. To this day, I've never seen Part I of that episode. Voyager has been my Star Trek and it's the one I love. So, I never managed to see any of Season 1. I saw the ending of Voyager, Endgame, before I saw the beginning, Caretaker. How odd is that? I had no clue that Janeway had ever had a 'bun' untill I went to Australia and saw an episode there from Season 1. To this day, I've only seen a few episodes in Season 1, maybe 4 of them total. The DVD case is neon orange, and see through. The discs are bright silver with the title of the series on them, along with the names of the episodes in a small circle around the center. This is dissapointing since it's hard to tell what's on what discs at a glance, but you can tell if you want. The casing is plastic, not cardboard like the DS9 ones were, very dissapointing there. The orange holders for the DVD's are held together by a plastic two-part case that slips over it. It looks very modern and very classy (except for the orange). On teh front and back there are two large circles, the front showing a picture of the ship along with the series title, the back showing a list of the episodes on what discs. I stuck a disc in, and I must say, the menu has blown me away. Neither TOS, TNG, or DS9 menu's can compare to these menu's. They are computer animated with teh ship. Easy to navigate, and have some of the greatest shots of Voyager I've ever seen before. I saw a few minutes of Caretaker and the video quality is about the same as TNG or DS9. I didn't see any major improvments in that. I put in teh special features section and this thing is loaded. It contains all of the video footage of the origional Voyager Captain, named Genevieve Bujold. A French-Canadian woman who I must say, wouldn't have done the job justice. She was grey haired, shorter than Janeway was, and a lot smaller in body size. Her first officer just towered above her. She didn't have the fight in her voice Janeway had. I'm so glad they went with Mulgrew. Well, as I go through teh DVD's in the next few days I'll update this topic with more information. Suffice it ot say, I'm EXTREMELY pleased with my purchase. For the only DVD's I ever intend on buying in my life, this was the right choice. Oh, and btw, price wise, the Voyager DVD's are a lot less expensive than DS9 was as it came out. Less than a $100 for the Voyager ones starting, DS9 started at like $120. Pretty reasonable for a total of
  17. Webby, have you watched the special features of the "origional" Captain Janeway? Whatcha think of her?
  18. It does! You should see it! Genevieve Bujold as Captain Janeway. She's a French-Canadian actor with the accent to match. She was shorter than Janeway, had grey hair, and was a smaller build. Her XO literally TOWERED above her. Not to mention, she just didn't have the authority in her voice that Mulgrew had. At least 5 minutes of footage with her. Janeway with her hair down, about a minute of that. It wasn't the nice down as in the later seasons, it was a down that had it very loose and it tended to fly around. Apparently, the hair cost a ton of money for them in the first episode. Paramount didn't like it down, so they made Mulgrew put it up.
  19. 15 episodes at over 13 hours of Star Trek entertainment! I have a feeling that I'm going to love Season 1. It's a whole series of episodes I've never seen in Star Trek! It's going to be a great few weeks.
  20. Lieutenant Commander Garnoopy Chief Engineering Officer USS Manticore, NCC-5852 Personal Log Stardate 50402.22 “Breath” In and out. Twelve separate breaths to calm the body and slow the heart. Each breath carefully felt by the mind. Slowly the stress, worries, fears, frustrations, joys, concerns filtered outwards. Each breath breathing in calmness, each outward motion removing the problems of life. The wind drifts across the prairie. Grass gently ruffles. No foreign sounds can be heard. Nothing to disturb the peace that holds the strength of the land. Slowly his body leant over, his hands reaching towards the ground. His hamstrings stretched slowly. His eyes closed, Garn listened to his body. Felt every sensation that ran across it. He gently let his hamstrings stretch as his mind cleared itself of the thoughts that plagued him daily. In and out. Each outward breath stealing some of his worry. Life was a constant worry on the planet. The stability of electro plasma conduits flowing behind walls was gone. Stars no longer were but a button away. Food grew at the rate mother earth allowed. His hands slowly lowered themselves to the ground in front of him. They moved forward forcing the back into a catlike arch. Stretching the lower back. Pulling the stress that accumulates there daily. The back moved flat for a moment, then arched. In and out he breathed. Although the world around him is Earth, it is not home. The gently rolling hills and rising sun were close, but off enough to be a constant reminder of everything he had missed. He pulled his right leg up, letting it become level with his back, his left hand reached directly up towards the sky. Towards a type of freedom he missed. Blue skies. Gently floating clouds. All a reminder of Earth. Not his Earth. In and out stress flowed with every breath. Slowly his oblique stretched. The air rushed around his body causing his nerves to fire. His blue eyes remained closed. Feeling the Earth. Feeling his body through senses. Garn had come daily to this location since his arrival to gently go through his yoga paces. Every day he was reminded by the creation of fuel that time was ticking away. Yet every day he took the time to bring his body back to life. To keep the energy flowing. Air flowed in and out. His hand lowered. His leg lowered. The stretch was repeated but on the other side. What did he miss of his family’s life? Did his brother ever fulfill his dreams? What had happened to them? His mind was clear. No thoughts could penetrate it. He slowly returned his hand and leg to earth. He lowered himself to the ground, moving his legs into a cross-legged position. Gently leaning forward he felt the stress that remained in his back begin to dissipate. Years of the practices of yoga had made Garn flexible. Although his bottom remained on the ground his nose could touch the earth. The power flowed right below his face. An engineer is a being who believes in power. A power that be created from a natural source. There is no power greater than the power flowing right beneath where you walk. Touch the earth and you’ll feel it. Garn felt the power flow. He felt it flow beneath him and into him slowly. Replacing the worn energy of his body with a new flow. A rejuvenated flow. In and out. His breath absorbed the oxygen. He gently extended his legs in front of him and leaned forward, bringing his nose to his knees. Gently letting his legs stretch. Would they return home? Could they return home? What did it matter? He was supposed to want to return to home. It was his duty. It was his purpose. Yet every day that he remained on this planet a little of the power that flowed went into him and a little of his resistance flowed into the planet. In and out. His chest rose and fell with every deep breath. Slowly he brought his left leg and pulled it up to cross over his right. He pressed his right arm against the outside of his leg and twisted his body, stretching the back. It had been many years since Garn had sat in the middle of an open field outside of a holodeck. The calmness of his surroundings brought peace to himself and wounds that lay open from pain were nearly closed. It was as if the wind flowing over his body could regenerate a broken heart. His legs switched and he twisted the other way. In and out, fresh air refreshing his lungs. The pain from his losses in life had been healed. What on this strange replication of Earth had done it he did not know. Perhaps it was the length of time he had spent with nature. There was no gently humming in the background from systems running here. There was only a wind that made one feel alive inside. Energy flowed in and out. Slowly, he laid back. Soon he would return to work, but not now. Now was a time of rest. A time to enjoy a stress less body. His muscles lay fresh and ready for the day. His mind reenergized from the earth. His heart healed. Air in and out.

  22. Lieutenant Commander Garnoopy Chief Engineering Officer Personal Log Stardate 50402.14 “Shower” “Bloody hell” he said when the image of the sub processor bridge isoliniar chip bank came into view. “I just replaced these chips a week ago! What is going on?” Garnoopy groaned to no one. The bridge was empty. Apparently the rest of the crew was either asleep or working on other projects. Whichever it was, he was glad to be alone. He began to pull out the chips and one by one replace them. Don’t get it wrong, Garnoopy loved being on the ship. Someone would have to drag him down to the planet before he’d leave his engineering up here in the hands of someone else. It was just, well, Garnoopy was starting to feel a little strained with so little personal space. It was obvious the rest of the personnel aboard were feeling the same thing. He had first realized it a week ago when he tripped over an item Lieutenant Betty had left next to her bed. The sleeping space was cramped and Garnoopy hadn’t’ seen it. So, he had met the floor head on. Not a pleasant experience. Since then things had only degraded. People were getting stressed. It was just this morning though that he realized something truly needed to be done about it. It had been a complete accident. The ready room doors were supposed to be locked when someone was in the shower but they had apparently forgotten. He signed as he worked with the isoliniar chips. What could he do about it? They needed more space. Where could he find it? “Computer, how many separate crew quarters are there on deck two?” “There are six crew quarters and one mess hall on deck two.” “Computer, run an analysis, if power was brought online to all systems on deck two, excluding replicators, out of the power we have left, how many days of life support would we loose?” Two beeps ensued, along with a momentary pause, “The length of available power would decrease by fourteen point two four days.” Garnoopy frowned, thinking about this. Two weeks would be cut from the available time onboard the Manticore. However, they did need the space. Not only to give one another personal space but also for a large room to begin construction of the equipment required to bring them home. Lieutenant Goad had informed him they would require the space and until now Garnoopy hadn’t known where they would get it. “I guess the question is, how much do we really want to be able to breath?” He smiled to himself, “Two weeks, two weeks.” The panel in front of him lit up as the sub processor came back online. The computer would now be back in tiptop shape. Next job was to switch to the secondary impulse propulsion system for power and then clean out the primary one. Garnoopy stood and turned, walking over to the Operations panel. He tapped it, thinking. “I suppose the real question is, do I really want to see another one of my friends in the shower?”
  23. Very nicely done GromVik. I applaude your work. This was well thought through and done very nicely. It will be interesting to see what it put out in the future months. I look forward to reading it. Once again, very nicely done.
  24. Lieutenant Commander Garnoopy Chief Engineer Lieutenant Spencer Goad Chief Science Officer “Slumber Party” Stardate 50401.30 Spencer picked up a padd off the main science console on the bridge, and turned around to face Garnoopy. "So, we don't get to take a nice earth vacation like the rest of the crew huh?" Garnoopy tapped the science station next to Spencer, "I doubt that it'll be a great vacation for them. I'd much rather be up here, on this powerless tug." He smiled and tapped, bringing up the ship schematics. "Its pretty powerless alright. Who else is staying from your department?" Spencer said while tapping his padd. Frowning, Garnoopy began to shut down systems one by one on the ship schematics to see what power could be cut, "Lieutenant Betty will be remaining behind from engineering. She's skilled and tough, a valuable asset this mission. I assume you've already picked someone from science?" Starting to make a list of needed science equipment, Spencer replied, "Indeed, Lieutenant Junior Grade Amy. She more skilled in temporal mechanics than most of my other officers, which should prove valuable." Garnoopy nodded, "Perhaps once systems are repaired we can go home. For now we need to figure out how the four of us are going to survive." Nodding, Spencer leaned over to take a look at the ship schematic Garnoopy was working on, "We will be powering down everything but deck 1 and main engineering, correct?" Pointing to the schematic of the ship with everything except deck 1, main engineering, and turbo lift 1 powered down Garnoopy said, "Yes. Life support, gravity, replicators, it all goes offline except in those areas shown." "Well, we will be needing a sleeping area, a storage area for supplies, and then our work areas. That last item will be in mainly the bridge and engineering. What do we use for the others?" Spencer said. "Food stuffs can be kept in engineering and the ready room. We'll convert the conference room to a sleeping area with four beds,” Garnoopy said while looking over the floor plans. "Sounds good. We probably ought to put a portable sonic shower up somewhere as well. Perhaps the ready room would be a good place for that as well? Unless of course we want this place to start smelling like a labor camp." Spencer smiled while leaning back and turning his focus back to his padd. In spite of the situation Garnoopy chuckled, "No, we definitely need a sonic shower. Oh, " he said, remembering, "We'll also need four EVA suits. In case we need to travel around the ship." Nodding Spencer said, "Good, good. I'll also need to get some science equipment out of the lab and set them up somewhere. Can I do that in engineering?" "Of course, we'll integrate the systems directly into the engineering EPS power relays" Garnoopy said. “Alright, I’ll get started on moving the equipment as soon as we are done here.” Spencer said while marking that item off on his list. Thinking, Garnoopy inquired "Lieutenant, how much do you know about engineering systems?" “Not a huge amount, although I was on the stealth team that helped repair the Manticore back when the Romulans had control of it. I learned some about it out of necessity then, why?” Garnoopy frowned, "We have a lot of damage on this ship, it may be required for you to help with repairs of systems before we'll be able to implement any plan that will get us home. I hope you're prepared to take up jobs from other departments at points. We have a whole ship to run, not just engineering and science systems." Spencer looked up and sighed, “I know, and I had already figured on doing cross-department work while up here. I should be able to handle any needed bridge functions fairly easily. I’m afraid you won’t find me near as efficient in engineering as you are likely used to your engineers being though.” "Well, I'm sure we'll muddle through somehow. I doubt anything overly problematic will occur while we're up here." Garnoopy tapped, finishing a download of information into a padd, "If a crisis arises we'll find a way to deal. For now, I have our current plan to pass along to the Admiral." Spencer nodded and smiled slightly, “Let’s hope he doesn’t object to our using his ready room for storage and a shower.” Spencer paused slightly before continuing, “Well, if we are going to do this I’d better get started with that science equipment. Let me know if the Admiral requests any changes to our plans.” Turning, Garnoopy said, "I'll ensure that the supplies we need are moved to the location we need them at. Let's meet in an hour to review status." “Agreed, we can meet back here on the bridge. I’ll see you then.” Spencer said as he stood from his seat and started to head towards the turbo lift. Garnoopy looked back down at the information on the panel, then turned to head over and make preparations for the crewmembers who would soon be leftovers of an abandoned ship.
  25. Happy happy birthday!
