  1. Personal Log: Marius (of the G.E.S. Excalibur)

    Stardate: 0804.21

Marius stood at the replicators. In his hands, he held a few communicator badges, while the industrial sized producer shot out more badges by the handful. Marius twiddled with his own communicator, eyes shifting from side to side.

Marius breathed a sigh of relief. He had been scared that Admiran might have found his true geneaology. Marius stared at the communicator, old memories floating over his head again, as they always did...

Marius crouched under the bed, quivering with fear. His parents were screaming and pleading somewhere nearby. His mother's voice cried out,"Please... Please..."

"Shut it, traitor!" A loud bang, and suddenly Marius was face to face with his mother, her eyes red with tears. Then, just as suddenly, she was hauled to her feet, and disappeared. Then, two large boots stomped in, and a heavy, gruff voice proclaimed, "You are both under arrest for association with the Romulan Rebels. By the law of the Gaian Empire, you are both sentenced to death..."

Marius snapped out of his reverie, rubbing the tips of his ears. Marius thought back again. He had eventually been taken in at the orphanage, where he tried to pass off as Vulcan. When he was of age, the orphanage chose for him to join the armed forces. On his examination going into Starfleet, he had passed out a few times leading up to meeting with the counselor, but luckily passed with only a warning of mild paranoia.

Marius looked over his shoulder, his paranoia returning. He was so close to being discovered... First his small picture of his parents had been discovered, the only keepsake he had salvaged. Eventually, they'd have to check his name, his background... It was only a matter of time...

Beep! Marius jumped as the replicator spit out the last few badges of the current batch. Marius composed himself, and regained his facade. He grabbed a small handheld crate, tossing in about enough badges for the Engineering crew.

Crewman Kent, hearing the replicator, decided to go and stare at Marius. He turned the corner, preparing his evil eyes...

And stood bewildered, his evil stare completely forgotten, with Marius nowhere in sight.

  2. I know it's off topic, but i couldn't help but notice. this poll was apparently from way back when LoAmi was just an ensign! You found a historic topic, Riko!

I try to see the TNG/movie uniforms, although occasionally backtrack to the older TNG ones.  Mostly because Arcadia is a Sovereign class and it just makes sense to have the latest in Starfleet fashion. But, then again, I've watched so much TNG, it's hard not to have the image embedded in my head :-)

  3. I don't know too much about the older ships, so my choices were going to be one of the two i *do* know of, the miranda and the constellation. I just decided on constellation just cause...

as for the newer ships, I chose Akira cause it's been a favorite of mine for awhile. Prometheus comes a close second though. I just had no knowledge of it until i was looking for an advanced sim and saw the USS Agincourt.

I've taken care of most of the daily chores, yet Lt. Admiran and I have come across a very serious problem. In our progress in fixing burned gel-packs in the relay circuits, we've discovered some sort of destructive program, similar to the computer viruses of the 21st century. This program can, among other things, monitor our communications as well as the entire ship's functions, and also corrupt computer commands, and could very well be able to disable our computer's functionality. We just happened to be lucky enough that this program, upon it's initiation, had been garbled and therefore was prevented from causing serious damage.

However, as of yet we're not sure of the origin of this program, as it couldn't be traced. Who on the Excalibur would have the intent of damaging the ship?

    End Recording.

  5. This might not last forever, but it should work at least for now.

Go up to the top of this forum page (not the usual stsf page) and click on "live chat". from what i understand, it should let you get into the chat rooms. If it doesn't work, then I guess you'll have to register again. Good luck :D

So. The dreaded Scorpiads have cut off our retreat, supply line, reinforcements, and more besides. Excluding our allies the Romulans and Klingons, We are alone. Alone, with probably the entire Scorpiad war force surrounding us. How we'll make it out alive, I don't know. No matter what the outcome, I vow that I'll do my best. I only hope that my best will be enough.

So far my endeavors are successful. I've been studying the kilhra'etrehh, the cloaking device, due to the fact that I hadn't been trained in the maintenance of one before. I've also studied the Scorpiad technology, and modifying a few of our own systems to counter it. The only thing I've yet to get onto is Chief Xavier's Chemical Slugathingy... I supposed I should go and get to that now...

    End Recording.

  7. Welcome to STSF! Dont worry about these guys. You should only die by random chance in the academy 20 or 30 times before you graduate lol.

And You should only die by a definite set of events 100 to an infinite amount of times. :D random chance deaths are rare... make that occasional. Your death is destined most of the time, especially if you're in NDak's "Death and Destruction" sim :D

  8. Welcome! Being a D&D player myself, it's not exactly the same (you don't go rolling dice to kill people, though the GM's might roll some dice :D ) But STSF is the greatest Star Trek game/sim I've ever seen! Hope you have fun! maybe I'll see you in the academy some time!

  9. In order to reserve your name, you need to have it registered on the boards. Any board name you have, will require your password.

Not too sure i understand completely. I understand that it'll take your board name, and will need your password. what i'm not too sure of is how i could use names other than my Message Board name, but can't use them now. Thanks for the info though. It helped a lot. :D

  10. It won't let me enter the chat rooms under the name I usually use (Ens_Marius_TrLorin) i managed to enter under the name i used for the academy (Marius). Is there anyway i could change my password so i can still use my current user name?

  11. <---speaks enough Spanish to get drunk, enough German to sort of survive, enough French to ask if they speak English, enough Japanese to barely survive, and enough Tagalog to understand some of what my girlfriend is saying.

I wish I knew Tagalog... I mean, for heaven's sake, I'm a full blood Filipino, and I don't know more than about 5 phrases in Tagalog...

Oh yeah. How'd we manage to switch the topic from the World Cup, to languages, mainly the official one of the USA?
