Rebelling against the pacifistic tendencies of his parents Mr. Nesbitt enlisted in the Starfleet Marine Corps in 2391 at the age of 18 with a rank of Private. Following his initial training, during which he earned a promotion to Private First Class, he was assigned as a Combat Engineer with the 5th Engineer Battalion and later with the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. Duty positions included that of small engine mechanic, combat lifesaver, demolitions specialist, fire team leader, and assistant squad leader. Within 3 years he was promoted to Lance Corporal and to full Corporal. When he reached the time to reenlist Corporal Nesbitt asked to be reassigned as Infantry or Intelligence. When both were denied, however, Mr. Nesbitt decided to leave the Marines. Since his military duties kept him within the Sol system his off-duty time allowed him to earn enough education credits through weekend classes and correspondence courses to complete his first two years of college. Monty completed his degree at Silicon Valley University (formerly San Jose State University) majoring in general engineering. During an elective on military history Monty became familiar with late 20th / early 21st century weaponry and tactics. His class project was to secure an ancient M16A2 assault rifle with the M203 grenade launcher attachment and restore it to factory condition. This class renewed Monty’s interest in the military and, with degree in hand, he decided to apply for Starfleet Marine Officer Candidate School. After completion Mr. Nesbitt was promoted to Second Lieutenant and enrolled at the Sapper Commando School. After completing the school and serving as a Platoon Leader for a local unit he was promoted to First Lieutenant. The USS Agincourt is his first deep space assignment. MEDICAL PROFILE: Mr. Nesbitt is in robust physical condition. Although he is half Vulcan he identifies himself as Human, mating practices included. He does experience a mild Pon Farr every 7 years, the last of which was 4 years ago, but it is not as severe as that of a full Vulcan. As Mr. Nesbitt is allergic to synthehol he has received a medical waiver to drink “the good stuff”. PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE: Mr. Nesbitt is highly motivated, energetic, and a quick learner. However, most of his experience is academic in that he had yet to serve in a forward area until his assignment to the Agincourt. It is unknown how extended time in strange surroundings will affect his psychological makeup.
