Hey guys!

Hello.

I graduated 2 years ago and soon after, had a bit of a meltdown with health and so disappeared.

I'd really like to get back into things and am considering starting over with the academy either as this account or a new one.

In the future, my goal is to someday run a sim myself for people outside of the US in an earlier time zone.

How would I go about making these plans a reality?

Thanks.

Kaspian

Hi Kaspian,

At this point, the training is all done in-sim. This means that you decide what sim you want to join and contact the GMs who run that sim. They can let you know when you should show up to begin the training/re-training. If you are interested in the in-sim training process, it is detailed here: http://www.stsf.net/howtosim/requirements.php

Any discussion of starting your own sim would have to be tabled until you were playing regularly in an Advanced sim game for awhile. Then, you can contact the GM Council with a proposal. Thanks.

Alrighty thanks!

I'll need to get in touch with Capt Chirakis to see if I can go to Sky Harbor Aegis as this is still the best time zone for me, being a british guy who works Mon-Fri!

Awesome, thanks for the help :)

BTW, does that mean Starfleet Academy is gone?

Correct, the only "Academy" available is the in-sim training procedure. Thanks!

Final question! How (and if) can I change my name on here as I'd wish to use a new one.

To change your name, create a new account with the user name you would like to use, and supply another email address. When it is approved by the forum, the new user name will appear on everything - message boards, chat room windows, and message board PMs.

If you would like to use your old email address or you are unable to create another email address, you may use the old one and insert a period somewhere in the name. For instance, if my email address were CptnChirakis@somename.com, I would insert a period to make it Cptn.Chirakis@somename.com - the period inserted between Cptn and Chirakis.

If you have any problems with this, PM Admiral Atragon and he can guide you through it.

We enjoyed having you on Aegis last night.

~C
