Stardate Formats?

What format for stardates is most commonly used? I know that there is really no set standard, I am just curious to see what is most commonly used here.

Most of the advanced sims use a 5 digit number, usually XYYMM.DD, where X would be standard for TNG to Post Voyager timelines. Hood and Comanche Creek use the YYMM.DD startdate, since they're based in the TOS timeline, (Prime for Hood, JJ-verse for 'Creek). From what information I was able to glean from Star Trek (2009), the JJ-verse Stardate convention is 4 digit Year.Julian Day- so today would be SD 2011.192. Hope this helps, or increases your increases your confusion.
