Personality wise, Günter is very friendly towards everyone he meets. He is very sociable, and takes orders extremely well, and follows them without question. Those close to Seiben find him to be one of the most relaxed people to work with; Seiben is open to anything and has a tendency to 'go with the flow', with whatever situation arises around him be it good or bad. Those close to Seiben might also say that not much phases him, but that has still yet remains to be seen...

 

 

Seiben's hobbies besides flying, includes hiking, hover-biking, hang gliding and playing golf. Non-physical hobbies include wood working, painting and playing an assortment of Terran card games, such as blackjack and Texas Hold 'Em Poker. On shoreleaves, Seiben enjoys spending time at the casinos of Risa, Las Vegas or Monte Carlo playing cards or the roulette table. He is also quite proficient in Dabo. Seiben also plays the electric and acoustic guitars and can play “Stairway to Heaven” and “Classical Gas” like the best of them.

 

Seiben also enjoys cooking, and German food – in particular, sauerkraut, and weisswurst, a white Bavarian sausage served at breakfast time. Like all members of his family, Seiben speaks in a German accent owing to having grown up in that particular region of Earth.

 

 

Personal History:

 

Günter Seiben grew up in the Bavarian capital of Münich, Germany in the European Continent of Earth. He had since childhood a passion and interest in space exploration and would greatly enjoy family excursions to planets outside of Earth. To most, it seemed that Seiben almost enjoyed the journey to their intended planet of visit as much as the planet itself (or more so).

 

Though he has no siblings, Seiben remained close to his older cousins (both named Hans) and was inspired by their enlistment into Starfleet. The Seiben family has had a long and somewhat illustrious history in Starfleet since its foundation, with many in his family rising high in rank and earning numerous awards and accolades for their distinguished service.

 

Looking to make a name for himself, Günter with the help of his parents and older cousins consistently shown high marks in school as well as a natural aptitude for piloting, with much help of his cousin Hans (Republic Seiben). With the loss of one of his cousins, serving aboard the USS Arcadia, Günter remained close to his remaining cousin who taught him the finer aspects of piloting their family's shuttles and runabout and other aspects of Starfleet life.

 

Upon his cousin's recommendation, Günter enrolled and was accepted into Starfleet Academy's Helm and Navigational program, also majoring in ship and station Operations. Seiben proved to be a good student and scored high among his class of peers in both shuttle and starship flight operations. Like all Starfleet helmsmen, Seiben is familiar in all aspects of flight controls, evasive manoeuvres – including complex evasive patterns such as the Picard Manoeuvre.

Upon graduation from Academy, Seiben was delighted to find an opening on board the newest iteration of the USS Republic, on which his cousin Hans whom he is still very close with. With the help of his family and their influence, Seiben was granted an assignment aboard the Republic as a helm/operations officer. It is expected that Seiben should do well in this endeavour.

 

Specializations:

 

Primary: Helm and Navigation of all types of Starfleet and Civilian shuttlecraft and runabouts as well as certification to fly all types of starships in service in Starfleet.

Secondary: Operations and logistical support – starship and space stations.

Tertiary: Field medicine as mandated by the mandatory Starfleet Academy medical training program. Qualified to administer basic medical aid, such as hypo-injections, CPR and other types of air compression. Can also perform other basic medical practises and techniques covered in the Academy Medical Training Program.
