Star Trek of course. History, especially that of the classical and ancient nature. Music is a big part of my life. I play piano, drums, and a little guitar. And if I'm not playing I'm listening.
  1. That's not a ninja! <----- This is a ninja
  2. Bah humbug! :o Happy holidays folks!
  3. What Commissioner Gordon failed to realize was that Superman doesn't need a spot light, all you have to do is scream "Help!"
  4. You know what's awesome? Retrofuturistic dystopian post-apacolyptic steampunk movies where people with funny names and funnier haircuts race each other in jerryrigged cars decked out with spikes and flame throwers and stuff. Too bad there aren't many movies like that.
  5. You're harshin' my mellow, mannnnnnn.
  6. When asked where they were heading, Miss Piggy replied "The youtube video awards."
  7. What it Means to Wear the Yellow Begin Recording... Destination: Relva VII, Science Station 3, Desk of S. Knight Date of composition: 50811.25 13:03 Mom, Hey mom, I hope this transmission finds you and dad well. I'm sorry that I hadn't written to you sooner, I just couldn't think of what to say. Earth was absolutely beautiful, though I find much time for sight seeing with the hearings. It took a long time but I've finally been reinstated. I filed for transfer, I couldn't go back to the people on the Honshu, I can't face the looks that I get from them. Though it's been proven that I wasn't responsible for Commander Maddox's death, they still look at me sideways and I can't stand it. I write to you from the Reaent. She's a fine ship mother, I thought there was a lot of people on the Honshu, but you can't walk around a corner without seeing three people on the other side here. "Finally." Wade said to himself after the final work was completed on realigning the plasma injectors. The overall din of the ship filled his ears, though he could still separate all the sounds and identify them without to much trouble. The high pitched wail of magnetic constrictors, the low hum of the reactant injectors, the over all pulse of all of the engines integral parts. It was incessant, and yet he found some solace in it. A sort of privacy that he needn't share with anyone else. As he sat down at the pool table he rubbed his temples and winced, remembering the cost of that privacy. Yes I still get the headaches, though they've been less frequent since I've been away from my duties. As I've told you before, I'm not prepared to make any adjustments. They can wait until they are required. My first day went fairly well, I'd like to think. It started out pretty rocky I guess. The very first thing I did in Main Engineering was failed to make a proper diagnosis on a engine problem. Well, I didn't make a diagnosis at all. I told the chief it was running perfectly, when it wasn't running at all. I don't know what I was thinking, I just couldn't stop shaking. It was as if it was my first watch all over again and I was an Ensign fresh out of the academy. I finally got a hold of myself after awhile, and fell into my work, but I'm fairly certain I made the wrong first impression on the Chief... and the Commander. "'You're in charge' he says," Wade said to himself. "I've been here two and half hours and he puts me in charge." He knew that being put in charge of engineering had nothing to do with his mood, in fact he was quiet flattered that Scherer thought it was prudent to place him in charge. His record was very good, aside from the little line indicating that he was held for questioning on charges of Misidentification resulting in friendly fire. But that was done and over with. Wade turned to address another ensign. "Ensign Cola, when was the last time you guys realigned the torque sensors?" I really haven't had much of a chance to meet much of the crew yet, though I'm fairly certain I'll be paying a visit to sickbay soon. I'm due for a physical, and I'm sure they'll want to know all about your implants. Right now I really don't know where the heck we are, it's been thirteen days since I came aboard from the Honshu. I pretty much confined myself to my quarters during that time. The next time we're in the sector I'll be sure request that you be brought aboard. It'd be really great to see you and dad again. Another hour past, another job done. And the chief still hadn't returned from the conference. How many questions had he answered in that time, how many realignments had he made, and how many times had he gotten that pulsating headache in his temples? Turning he saw his reflection in a wall access panel and nearly didn't recognize himself. Three months wasn't all that long of a time, but it seemed like an eternity since he'd put on that uniform. He found himself looking at a younger semblance of himself, a cadet just on his way to his first class at the academy. There was so much less to worry about then. "Pardon me, sir?" Wade turned to find an ensign looking at him with a confused look on her face. He muttered an apology, took one more look at his reflection and went back to work. I know you're proud of me mom. I just hope that I can live up to that pride. I just hope I can live up to the Yellow. It's not red, but at least it isn't gray. Tell dad I love him and I hope to see him soon. I love you too, Mom. And thanks for that recipe you sent me in your last transmission. The replicators can't compare to your cooking, but it passes. With Love, Wade ...Transmit when ready...
  8. Personal Information Name: Knight, Wade Francis Race: Human, Male Date of Birth: January 19, 2357 Place of Birth: Relva VII Hair: Blonde Eyes: Blue Height: 1.93m Weight: 85.5Kg Marital Status: Single Current Rank: Ensign Current Assignment: Assistant Engineer, USS Reaent Background Wade F. Knight was born on the 19th of January, 2357 on the Federationplanet Relva VII to Robert H. Knight and Samantha L. Temple. Hisparents were well respected scientists in the fields of Warp fieldMechanics and Neurophysiology, respectively. Before being born, hisparents had been informed that he would be born deaf due tomalformation of nerves in the inner ear, however since the conditionhad been discovered late in the pregnancy there was nothing that couldbe done. Despite his handicap, as he progressed through his educationhe showed a natural affinity for science, literature and history andwas praised by his peers and his teachers. His mother had spent muchof his childhood attempting to find a way to allow him to hearnormally, and her work was completed in 2375 in a pair of implants, surgically implanted in the inner ear. The implants not only gave himhearing within the normal human range, but also allows him to hearsounds as low 12hz and sounds below .009 dB. The implant later becameknown as the Temple Auditory Implant and is in wide use today. In 2377he applied to Star Fleet academy and was accepted. He graduated in2381 in the tenth percentile with a degree in structural engineeringand computer engineering and received his commission to Ensign. Hisfirst assignment was on the Nebula class starship USS Honshu NCC-60205under the command of Captain Bernard Tansey as an assistant engineer. He is said to have performed his duties admirably and has received thehighest recommendation from Captain Tansey. After applying personallyfor transfer in 2383 he was reassigned to an assistant engineeringposition aboard the Ambassador Class USS Reaent NCC-3345-G under thecommand of Captain Fred Michaels. Medical History Mendaken Pox, Age 8 right 5th metatarsal, hairline fracture, age 12 right Tibia; compound fracture. Age 14 Blunt trauma; concussion Age 14 Blunt trauma; concussion Age 15 Acutedermal and neural damage to the right thigh and lower right abdomenresulting from a medium intensity disruptor blast, dermal and neuralregeneration was successful; Age 27 Congenital hearingloss at birth. Mr. Knight also suffers from minor to severe headachesassociated with the temporal lobe. Rarely concurrent memory loss mayaccompany these headaches in severe cases. However he has not reportedthis phenomena since July of 2391. The symptoms are associated withincreased neural activity in the portion of the temporal lobeassociated with hearing, likely caused by the Temple Auditory Implant. Mr. Knight has specifically requested that the implant not be alteredand I anticipate no physical neural damage in the near future. Cmdr. Alexander Kleiner, M.D. Academy Physician Psychiatric Evaluation From our brief session I surmise that Mr. Knight is mentally sound. His judgment and logical reasoning skills are impeccable. He isextremely extroverted and is a very passionate and singularindividual. What surprises me the most is how he seems to havemastered the English language entirely, though he only begun to learnverbal speech 9 years ago. He also has an excellent grasp of visuallanguage through the use of hand gestures and body language which wasdeveloped solely between he, his mother, and his peers during hischildhood using elements of Human and Bajoran sign language. I wouldsuspect from his social reputation that Mr. Knight is also very drivenin matters of friendship, respect, and intimacy. He suffers from nonotable psychological disorders other than a slight case ofmittophobia, or fear of transporter use. He does assure me that thisfear will not affect his performance in any way. 9. Two days after this was painted, they added an "Ambulance Only" parking space on the road next to it.
  10. Woot! I live 45 minutes from Baltimore. If circumstances permit I will definitely be there!
  11. This is by far the greatest post ever, right along my lines. Anyhoo, just because I love zombies and all movies, games, and bumperstickers pertaining to zombies, I went with that. But realistically, I'd have to say none of the above. The world probably won't end in the span of human existence. Humanity, however, will probably just be struck with something boring like mass pandemic, famine, or M.A.S.H. reruns. Also, I wrote a paper on the whole Mayan Prophecy thing. Here's a link if you're interested. http://cl1p.net/12212012/
  12. Welcome to the game, Bill.
  13. Was a great sim, besides being stunned, hogtied, pied, and gassed. :P
  14. Well, where to start? It's been quite some time since I've participated in any sort of role playing. Around 9 or 10 years ago they used to have Star Trek SIMS in AOL chatrooms, and I once participated heavily in those. Of course that was when was 12 years old. A long time ago. Anyway, I was looking for a blast from my past and I seem to have found one. I had a lot of fun at the Academy sim yesterday, and look forward to simming with you all in the future!
