Kaspian

A day in the life of a cadet.

It had been a tough four years.

Cadet Kaspian Oakley had arrived at Starfleet academy as a young boy. His future as wide open as could be. He had grown up with a big painting of the Golden Gate Bridge on his wall, wanting to be in Starfleet since he was a small boy. It was rough for him, being the lone adopted Caitian in his small city in Scotland on Earth.

His adoptive parents loved him very much and had sacrificed a lot for him to have whatever he wanted. He wasn't spoiled though, for all he ever wanted was a good education and a chance, just a chance to become a Starfleet officer. He had worked hard, passing every test he was given with remarkable dedication.

He had recently completed a number of test missions, including a scenario where a shuttle had crash landed, killing the Captain and First Officer, leaving a small crew of cadets to find a way to survive and he had received great feedback from his tutors.

Then came a bridge simulation where he took the Science console and was chasing an anomaly.

His third test came in the form of a shuttle mission where he and 2 others took the roles of security to escort a prisoner to a penal colony. This was his flight test which he was told he handled expertly.

All was going well and the young Caitian felt that it was almost time for him to graduate. The day he could proudly put on a pip and show his family that he made it work, he became an ensign. He was dreaming of that day and as it came closer, it became more of a reality.
