The Manticore has crash landed in a large lake on an alien world

and discovered that the ship had been outfitted with a pontoon

flotation system. We beamed an antiquated robot onboard

from the surface in hopes of understanding where we are, but

it reacts violently when Bren tries to open an access plate and it

nearly kills him with its crab-like pincers. Thanks to T'Prise and the

access into the robot's software via WiFi, Sovak convinces the

robot that we are not the enemy and it has just arrived on the

Bridge to "answer some questions."
