HISTORY:

Dr. Ritah Lowen is the younger of two children born to Frank and Ruth Lowen. Her parents met shortly after their arrival at the New Vista Long Term Care Center located on the southern continent of Delvos Prime. Their tour at New Vista spanned a period of over thirty years. Both are recently retired from Starfleet but have chosen to remain on Delvos Prime where their children were born and raised. Ritah's older brother, James, is a civilian research physician under contract with Starfleet to develop viable therapies for patients suffering traumatic brain injuries resulting in permanent disabilities. His research facility is attached to the New Vista Center where over half the resident patients suffer from these debilitating injuries. Ritah graduated from Kampa University on Delvos Prime but chose to attend medical school on Earth. She graduated from her mother's alma mater, the University of Miami (Florida) Medical School and served her internship and residency in the South Florida area. After completing her medical training, Ritah was accepted into Starfleet Academy, graduating in the top ten percent of her class.
