Found a neat USS Kelvin (by Tobias Richter, of The Light Works company) for us 'Creeks. Our ship sure looks purty, don't it? ::promptly sets as desktop wallpaper::

*sigh*

I should've stuck with engineering. :P

------------------

There are a number of good pictures at Screenrant.com. Just search "USS Kelvin Images" on google, it's one of the first ones to pop up.

( Can't seem to offer an address without a link popping up, and I respect that folks don't want links here. )

::huggles the sad Doc:: Awww...we like you right where you are, T. You can actually...disagree...with the command staff and, as long as it's medical necessity, get away with it.

::goes back to rooting around her drive, looking for a mod from ST:BC::

Oh sweet - can't get more classic gaming then Star Trek: Bridge Commander (though I admit I've never played the game).

Again, the Kelvin class looks purty ::is biased, yes:: and the Rihan vessel with the nice bird of prey view on the underside is kick azz.

Nice mod images Commander! Thanks!

With or without the hole punched in it's belly, Crash?

(BTW, I totally had my butt kicked in that one...3 Birds of Prey v. Kelvin. Not...Good...Odds)

Found another wallpaper Folks, by the same gentleman from "The Light Works". This is of the Kelvin and that other guy's -- you know, Enter-something? -- ship sharing an orbit vector. Enjoy!!

Three more USS Kelvin wallpapers, also by Tobias Richter of The Light Works company. I located the actual images at www.sciencefictionstuff.com - the site appears to be safe, though please use common sense.

All the images are good, though a favorite is that shot over the Enterprise with the Kelvin in the foreground. Keep 'em coming Mr. Richter.

Folks, here's another addition to the USS Kelvin Gallery. Enjoy!

Note: The gentleman who designed this Kelvin is Sean Tourangeau. He won the ship design contest for the Star Trek USS Titan series of books a couple years back. This image is a rendering of a USS Kelvin (Destroyer Class) from the "Dark Mirror Universe" - let's assume Mr. Tourangeau's version of the Mirror Universe. Sa-weet!

This is an interpretation of the Saladin class, the 1970's and 1980's forerunner of the 2009 USS Kelvin.

We were first introduced to the USS Saladin ship class in the Franz Joseph Technical Manual, and the ship was shown via schematics on the Enterprise bridge monitors in Star Trek 2 & 3. The full article can be found at Memory Alpha.

Again, this wallpaper is done by Tobias Richter of the Light Works. Enjoy Folks.

Update to the topic.

Side view of the USS Kelvin, from Ex Astris.

They aren't Kelvins, but we also have three additions from The Light Works Company regarding the other (quick) views of the New TOS era ships stationed at the space dock in Trek 2009 - thanks to a fellow STSF GM for forwarding the images.

Enjoy all you ship aficionados out there!

Indeed Commander, we are running silent and deep and possibly running the hell away from the Dreadnought Furious!

From startrekmovie.com:

The Kelvin shots are by our main man, the digital wizard Tobias Richter, and are unfinished/pre-wallpaper images that offer clear shots of the ship.

From madshipyard.com:

USS Ganymeade wallpaper. Mister Madman's image kicks azz as an entry for the Kelvin class!

As always Folks, use caution when checking out any websites.

From scifimeshes: a Tobias Richter wall of the USS Saladin, definitely a predecessor of the USS Kelvin. And, top-down shot of Kelvin in planetary orbit.

These youngsters today with their dang twin nacelled ships. Oughta serve on a single nacelle ship and see how real Fleet officers roll, Old School Style. =P

I wish I would of found this starship eye-candy thread earlier.

Awesome pics.

I'm still trying to figure out how big she (Kelvin) is.

As we all are. The gang of 3rd party mod creators for ST:BC have scaled their JJ-Verse ships to their Classic TOS counterparts.

So you abstaining upon the DVD specs from the movie? BC, Bridge Commander? The smaller scaled version they use makes a heck of a lot more sense, visually. Those darn shuttles in the movie has the Starship freaks going nuts on scaling. Probably don't use shuttles on ST:BC hence, you don't need the controversial size..the Paramount DVD gives you.

(Well unless you need a big flight deck!)

Indeed we are. And it never made any sense to have TOS ships scaled to the TNG-verse. Starfleet's still young, and growing. Not all the ships in Bridge Commander have the capability of the scripts to launch shuttles, but even the JJ-verse shuttles are still scaled appropriately.

And as for a big flight deck, that's what artificial gravity's for.

Hey Precip!

To add to Scooter's comments: we're pretty much hoping for some sort of official CBS/franchise hard copy about the USS Kelvin specs, pics and dimensions, the shuttles, and all that good stuff. I'm a huge fan of the eye candy work that Mr. Richter is doing for the Kelvin.

I also thank the Mighty Keeper of the Bridge Commander Game; Scooter keeps us in BC Kelvin pics!

This sounds kind of obvious (since the ship was chosen as the template for the 'Creek) but I think the USS Kelvin is just an awesome canon entry into the Trek world, and it's pretty darn unique with the one nacelle/hanger bay combination.

I like the 'Old School' design connection with the 1970's/1980's Franz Joseph USS Saladin, and I'll be straight honest when I say it's nice to see a canon design entry that doesn't have the twin/triple/quadruple nacelle thing going on. Nice change of pace is all, and perfect for a border patrol vessel!
